The pilot scared everyone when he said told us that we were deboarding and literally said "it's better to find out now while we are still on the ground because it could have happened in the air and that would not have been good". As someone who has flight anxiety that was not something that sat well. In addition we were not given any instruction on what to do at that point. Should we try to find another flight?.. Should we wait for the plane to get fixed?.. Are we all boarding another plane?... Everyone was confused and frustrated!"

Pros: "There were many delays and cancellations due to bad thunderstorms at LGA. Despite a few hours delayed (because the airport was closed due to the storm), the flight was still schedule to leave! I was very happy about that. They did issue waivers for those who could not make the later time. Once delta got the ok to fly.. The flight left the gate very fast and we arrived and exited the plane super fast too. The process was so efficient and quick, I did not feel the waiting period. The flight attendance were so happy and positive, they made he flight very enjoyable. Great job delta!"

I ended up in a middle seat sandwiched between people, and the man at the end slept the entire time, making it difficult to get up and walk around which I need to do as I am prone to DVTs."

Cons: "Purchased these tickets over a month ago and I was never able to select my seats. I am a Delta frequent flier, and despite logging on and checking in, was told at the airport counter that I would be assigned a seat at the gate. Of course we were assigned to the last row of the antiquated MD 88, right next to one of the engines. As if the lack of reclining seats was bad enough, the engine noise and vibration was almost unbearable on the flight that was delayed one hour on the Tarmac. The crew was understanding and we did get to Orlando safely...a big plus."

Cons: "The initial layover was three hours, which turned into over six hours due to weather and the gate was changed seven times. I paid for an upgrade to comfort plus because I like the extra room, sky priority boarding, and free alcoholic beverages. While I did get extra leg room from being in an exit row, I was still cramped, II boarded in zone 2, so I had to put my bag several rows back, we did not get any snacks or drinks or any sort, the plane was very loud on the right side, there was a child kicking and hitting the seat next to mine which shook the whole row, and there was a bit of turbulence. Not happy that I paid for an upgrade that got me nothing."

We'd taxied to the runway when takeoff was delayed by an incident ahead of us with another plane, and the flight attendants didn't give anyone a hard time about getting up to go to the restroom while we waited for the situation to be cleared, which I really appreciated."
Cons: "It was hot on the flight. The air vent on my seat wouldn't open. The seats seemed smaller than usual. (Even for modern day airline seats.) I flew to NY on American Airlines, and was relatively comfy, but was looking forward to my Delta flight back to Nashville, because I've been more pleased with Delta in the past. Maybe because the plane was smaller than I usually fly on or something (?), I spent the whole flight crammed into the corner, trying not to bump into the lady next to me (and she wasn't taking up too much space, btw - neither of us was overweight and neither of us used the shared armrest, we were both just wedged into our seats. Very uncomfortable)."

What was worse was that after landing at LGA, baggage tagged as Priority did not come out first, it came out much later - after numerous non-priority baggage came out. This is not the first time this has happened at LGA. What's the point of tagging it as Priority if it won't be handled that way?"

Cons: "This agent spent 30+ min to check us in through a connection flight to Seattle. He couldn't find my wife's reservation, when it should be in the same reservation as me. He tried 5 times, and still failed. Later we found out at the gate that he was using the wrong name (same last name, different first name). Luckily the American Airline agent at the gate was more than competent and efficient to correct the issue in 5 min."

Cons: "The flight was delayed more times than I can count, we got a different reason each time. Weather I can understand, but telling us we are waiting on a specific crew to arrive and then announcing that crew is not for our flight was just terrible communication. No one seemed apologetic. The only thing they did was bring a snack cart over for us, and that got raided by children so many people didn't get anything. We had arranged transport from Orlando to Tampa for that evening, and our rides had to cancel because instead of 7pm we were now arriving at 130am. Your airline's mistakes put everyone at an inconvenience and we weren't offered assistance to fix it. My husband went to ask for help in arranging new transport home, but he couldn't even get to the front of the line. The customer service was terrible. We really enjoyed our first leg of the flight home with American Airlines, but after the second leg and all of the problems we had... we will not fly with American Airlines in the future."

Pros: "United airlines canceled a flight last minute that I needed in order to get to my best friends' wedding on time, I usually fly AA but the United flights were slightly cheaper at the time. The options United gave me would have had me missing the wedding, AA had more flights that allowed me to make it in time, considering it was booked 12 hours before take-off, it was decently reasonable and left on time and got in early (imagine that, United). Thank you American Airlines, again!"

Cons: "Surprisingly, AA provided the worst experience of the overall itinerary, compared to Aer Lingus and Iberia. The AA plane was outdated, cramped legroom - despite having purchased an "upgraded seat" and departed 1hr late"

Earlier in the day I had to get them to change my flight from Chicago in Hattiesburg because it wasn't changed for me when the delay had my original flight leaving before I was to land in Chicago. I don't fault them for someone getting sick at the last minute or my inconvenience, but it was still inconvenient."

American Airlines is endangering the lives of passengers. And the cramped conditions are contributing to the hostile actions of some passengers. What does it take to do what is right?"

They told me I couldn't check the luggage all the way through and that I had to pick it up from baggage claim once I land in Narita. From there I had to check-in the luggage again on the same day. When I took my luggage out from baggage claim, I tried to check-in and the counter crew told me I was given wrong information. I had to keep my luggage with me until my flight the following day. On my return flight from Manila and another overnight layover in Narita, the check-in crew at NAIA told me I could check-in my luggage all the way through, and that they also allowed this at my outbound flight to Manila. The check-in crew at O'Hare International Airport gave me wrong information."

Cons: "The boarding process was not so good. It was a busy flight and they needed to put luggage underneath asking for volunteer, then after a certain point it was mandatory. I completely appreciate the need for it to happen, but it turned into caos. People everywhere stood waiting. My suggestion would be to have people who need to check baggage stand off to the side and continue boarding those who are ready to go."

So the flight was a bit of a physical and mental ordeal for me. The entertainment might have been great had my headphone port been operational. A previous passenger broke off the plug in the hole and the flight staff didn't have a pair of pliers on board to pull it out. Consequently, I was unable to listen to the media in-flight. Also, I couldn't recline my seat because the fussy older woman who sat behind me complained when I did, which made it difficult to snooze."

My 7 year old didn't know what tray table in the upright position meant and the attendant was giving him a hard time instead of just helping him."

There was no entertainment of any kind. The pilots kept pushing back the time we were taking off every 15 minutes and kept changing the arrival time drastically. Overall, horrendous experience."

Truthfully, I would choose to pay a little more for my ticket if I knew that United did not cram people in like sardines, provided good quality free internet, provided free video content (on consoles that worked), and provided a small snack (better than a little wafer)."

We had some rough skies that the plane didn't seem to like. Although I loved going out of a small airport, on the balance, I may go a more traditional route next time."
