JetBlue takes NO responsibility for helping you when they cancel a flight and especially if you booked through a third party like Kayak. Kayak and ChatDeal also, were not willing to take responsibility or help with the canceled flight. It took me 4 hours (2 trips to the Jet Blue desk at the airport, three online chats and two phone calls (90 minutes of hold time) to get my flight rebooted.
Hopefully you got my last review, but if you didn't, JetBlue needs to recognize their mistake and maybe extend the door closing time by 10 minutes when a connecting flight was delayed due to poor planning/foresight.
On June 18th, I flew from RDU to JFK, NY. The plane was delayed in the runway for 1+ hours. As soon as I got out of the plane, I got a wheelchair (dur to my heart and back pain) and told the agent to go as fast as he can to Turkish airline terminal so we can catch the flight. We arrived at Turkish airline gate and the airplane doors were closed. I asked and almost begged to let us get in, but our request was denied. Therefore, we lost our connecting flight by Turkish airline to Istanbul, Turkey. We still had 20 minutes left from the departure. But Turkish airline said, they close the door 40 minutes before the departure. Around 12:15 AM (now is June 19th), I walked all the way from Turkish airline to JetBlue ticket counter (half an hour walk) and asked for next flight to Istanbul. After waiting for 2+ hours in the line, JetBlue indicated that next day flight to Istanbul is all sold-out and Turkish airline does not have any space from JFK to Istanbul. The agent said, why don’t you get a hotel and come back tomorrow morning and there might be a space for you. She said, most of time, there is a cancellation, and they should be able to accommodate us. Then, we have started to search for near-by hotel and after 2+ hours searching (all near-by hotels were sold-out) around 3:30 AM we found a Comfort-Inn which was 10 miles away. We got Uber and went to that hotel. The guy asked for $230+$50 deposit cash (no credit card) per person for only 6 hours as we had to be out by 12 PM. My son and I got 2 rooms very close to lobby (Room# C15 and C17). Once I got to my room, I saw flies and bugs in the corner of my room. At this time, I thought about getting a rest and try to connect my next flight to Istanbul which was extremely important to me. Once I got into the bed, it was extremely uncomfortable. The bed was uneven and bad. To make the long story short, I only slept one hour (at the most) due to around 6 AM, lots of kids in the lobby were making noise which I could hear them well. They only reimbursed one of the rooms and the other one they charged us as my son had the same problem as me. I did not argue as my goal was to get to JFK airport and get my ticket to Istanbul to see my nephew and his new wife. We came back to JFK airport and again stayed in the line for 2+ hours. Once it was our turn, the JetBlue ticket counter indicated; they don’t have anything from JFK to Istanbul. However, they have a flight from JFK to Boston and from Boston to Istanbul. I said, Let’s get that ticket, immediately The JetBlue agent said, I had to go to Turkish airline “Lost and Found” section to pick up my luggage and hand carry it back to JetBlue from JFK to Boston, then from Boston to Istanbul. This means, I had to go back again all the way to Turkish airline in another Terminal, get my luggage and bring it back to JetBlue. Due to so many people missed their flights, I had to wait for 2+ hours to get my luggage due to “Lost and Found” being so busy with so many lost luggage from other passengers. After 2+ hours, I picked up my luggage and took it all the way back to JetBlue (half an hour walk). I got to JetBlue ticket counter and re-checked my luggage going from JFK to Boston and Boston to Istanbul. I spent 3+ hours walking around and then I went to JetBlue’s gate for departure to Boston at 7:30 PM and then from there depart to Istanbul at 11:30 PM. Around 7:10 PM, the agent announced that, the plane which was supposed to pick us up has not arrived and there will be a delay. I asked the ticket counter agent, how long is the delay and he said, he does not know. Around 8:30 PM, the plane was arrived. The agent told me, by time they board us, it will be 9:00 PM and the soonest we get to Boston, it will be between 10:30 to 10:40 PM which Turkish airline closes the gate for their 11:30 PM departure to Istanbul. So, the agent said, there is no way we could make on-time and I will miss the flight from Boston to Istanbul. I went back to the ticket counter, and they said, they don’t have anything next day (Tuesday June 21st) and asked to stay in the hotel for another night. At this time, I was unbelievably shocked and stunned by JetBlue and how they treated me. Being in JFK airport and that bad hotel for over 30+ hours, not having my medications with me, I was at a point of falling due to being weak of not taking my medicines. I never thought this would happen to me. I decided to go back home to RDU, NC as we have missed my nephew’s wedding on June 19th and also missed the “Ceremony after the Wedding” on June 20th. There was no point for us to go to Istanbul as my nephew and his wife were gone to Honeymoon and all relatives were going back to their countries. We were extremely disappointed as it happened twice and the level of caring we received were extremely low. JetBlue agents did not even care that we lost connecting flights twice. They were all laughing, working very slow, talking personal and eating Pizzas while taking care of JetBlue tense customers. At this point, we decided to go back home to RDU, NC. This was due to being weak and having dizziness. The agent said, they will issue us 2 on way tickets which will be paid for. The plane was supposed to leave JFK towards RDU at 9:55 PM. Guess what, it left the airport at 11:30 PM, and arrives in RDU around 12:45 AM. As soon as I got home, I took my medications, passed out and slept for 11 hours. On Monday I rest all day as my heart and my body were aching. Yesterday, I was in contact with jet Blue (Code share department) as well as Kayak agency and other agencies for hotels and tours which all were cancelled due to JetBlue delays which occurred twice back-to-back on Saturday and Sunday. In summary, I lost my nephew’s wedding who is like a son to me. While I was in airport, we spoke on the phone, after the Wedding and after the ceremony. He said, uncle, without you, this wedding was meaningless to me and my bright. As soon as he said, I cried. It broke my heart and we both cried over the phone. These back-to-back delays happened only because of JetBlue. My nephew and I lost a big one here as I am still at lost and could NOT believe, this happened to me.

Cons: "Jet Blue provided 5 sequential delay messages over an hour. Their inability to better estimate departure is disappointing. The real problem is that delay was caused directly by the airline's incompetence. There were no weather issues, the takeoff spots were available. They simply failed to load snacks. Although there WAS a minor prior delay bc a slightly late plane arrival, we eventually were delayed about an extra hour to supply snacks on a 4-hr flight. Given the ground crew had EXTRA time to load and also considering the tiny set of options offered, this is senseless. Further, b/c they ran out of overhead bins, they offered to GATE check my luggage. This was essentially a lie - they put it with checked bags, unlike the gate checked items I watched others retrieve. The combination of these errors led me to arrive at the car rental desk after closure. This caused me to incur a taxi fare, so spend 30 min or so working out an alternative rental the following day, and then yet ANOTHER cab to the Car Desk to get the car. This is the only time in my hundred or so car rentals anything like this has happened. I will certainly think twice (or more) before booking Jet Blue again."

Pilot arrives, we board with the hopes of getting out earlier than the delayed stated. But wait, all the passengers are on board but we are waiting for ice and catering. Seriously, the plane has been here for 2 hours and jet blue can’t spped things up and we are further delayed by waiting for ice. Poor planning!"

The entire row of seats didn't recline at all. She was very apologetic and acknowledged it was uncomfortable especially on a 5+hour flight. She did offer us something to eat, blankets earbud. Still my back was killing me upon arrival at Phoenix. JEt Blue. Get your act together. This is unacceptable."

Cons: "I was delayed half a dozen times, only to be canceled. Rescheduled on a flight that was scheduled to depart two hours before the original flight. Rescheduled after an hour hold. That flight was delayed the following day. Was diverted to Baltimore only to find out only some of us on our flight are getting out by a rude agent. Then no information at all. Had to run to catch an amtrak. Later found out if I stayed I would have stayed another 13 hours in Baltimore. Missed work and had no one home to take care of my family. Oh, and travel insurance will not cover anything. The plane itself was falling apart. Seat was broken and dirty. Everyones lights were broken and it smelled."

After that, she and the flight attendants did give us a free drink/headset coupon. That would have been nice but it expires Dec. 2017 and the flight attendant stopped serving drinks about half way down the aisle because the flight was so short. The coupon will be of no use to me. I finally got to Raleigh about 9:30...I booked the flight so I wouldn't have to drive at night.. Sigh....Delta used to be my favorite airline."

Cons: "The gate agent made us starting in boarding group 6 out of 9 to check sizes of bags in the size box and she got into a verbal fight with another passenger. One guy told her she could board but the gate agent said no it didn't fit and she couldn't board. Then the agent claimed she had to gate check her bag and claimed there were no overhead spaces left. So everyone after that had to gate check. When I boarded there were at least 8 empty bins and I had not even gotten to my seat in row 22. The gate agent lied and slowed down the entire boarding process because she want to win a fight and show dominance over a passenger."

TSA personnel was rude and incompetent. In the end there was no need for such scrutiny and we were released, but the emotional impact lasted for hours."

Pros: "My flight to Frankfurt was a disaster. Delays at LGA caused me to miss the connection. Two very nice AA customer service phone staff attempted to help by booking me on a Lufthansa/United flight out of JFK that same evening. HOWEVER, I got to JFK only to discover I had NOT been ticketed. A lengthy call to AA resulted a a lame apology -“we don’t do that” they claimed, but the had previously! And had booked me, so what the heck was this??? I’m still fuming!"

It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous."

We then sat on the plane for 4 hours because there was a system issue and the pilots didn't have our flight plan. At 8 pm, the pilot got off the plane, and new pilots came aboard. Finally, the plane left at 9:30 pm. We never received food vouchers, water, snacks during the delay. The pilot insisted the last delay was due to a system issue, the crew told us it was because of weather. In the end, I think they were all lying to us and they had no intention of leaving on time and just made excuses. We lost a whole day in Bermuda because of their lies. I will never fly United again."

Then another man in a suit walks in and first word out of his mouth is not an apology, but a threatening "Don't yell". I just kept walking away from this unqualified person lest it goes out of control. United needs to do a lot better. Just because these gate crew people feel stressed out, they should not take on innocent travelers. Instead of putting a customer under a defensive position, they need to learn to respect the customer. United is training their crew in a wrong way.."

Never had an issue with Lufthansa. United customer service is a different story. I will try my best to avoid Lufthansa flights operated by United from now on."

Frontier's boarding process does not protect passengers from COVID or inconvenience. The plane should be boarded from the back to the front to prevent too much contact; this would also help the people seated in the aisle not to have to be continually rubbed up against and hit with bags and purses of the other hundred or so passengers that need to board their seats in the back of the plane. Board from the back to the front please. It just makes sense!

A carry on will cost you. Pay before you get to the airport. Both flights I took were 30-45 minutes late due to the plane being cleaned. The luggage was also slow coming down. An airport employee told me that 2 other major airlines bump Frontier a lot when it comes to unloading luggage but I didn’t confirm that with Frontier."

In other words, seat price wasn't included in the ticket price either. How was I to know this when every other airlines includes it! Also, there were no complimentary snacks (peanuts, pretzels, etc.) nor drinks (sodas, etc.). Everything had a fee. I was also very unimpressed by an agent at the ticket counter who was flirting inappropriately with me. It was extremely unprofessional and made me uncomfortable. In all, I was incredibly disappointed with Frontier and will never fly the airline again."

These results should be marked differently so it's not so difficult to figure out which tickets are actually less expensive. Only water on the flight (unless you want to buy a can of soda for $5), only one chance to get water, food is also only for purchase. No entertainment options. An oil slick of grease and grime over my window. Very, very unimpressed."

During this entire time, I kept asking for updates and the staff at Frontier seemed angry so many people kept asking....that's your job. Because of the long wait many people didn't eat dinner, JetBlu decided to get coffee and donuts for all of their passengers (they said it over the loud speaker), Frontier didn't give us anything. When the plane landed at 8:15, the slowness of the workers couldn't have been any worse. Loading the bags slow, cleaning the plane slow. Plane gets here at 8:15 and we don't take off until 9:30. You'd think we would get some type of snack or drink for this horrible wait time right? Water is free on frontier, but nothing else. And they stuck with that. NOTHING FREE! Not even a soda or bag of chips! My friend is 6 foot 4 and I'm not sure how they get away with the nonexistent leg room. His knees were smashed against the chair in front of him the entire time. Funny for me, sucked for him (or anyone tall). He asked to change seats to 1 of the 2 open seats we had seen with more leg room (near the side emergency exit). They said no unless he wants to pay $50 right there. In the middle of the flight. I have no words for it. Customer service was horrible, food was nonexistent, drinks were nonexistent, leg room was nonexistent. And that sums up how I'll never be using frontier ever again. Pay $50 more for a better plane service seriously."

Pros: "I woke up to an email 31/2 hours before my daughters flight was suppose to leave Atlanta informing me that the flight was canceled. Called customer service where the man I spoke with was unable to or unwilling to tell me anything except that "yes it looks like the flight was canceled". His suggestion was to have my sister drive my daughter an hour and a half to the airport to see if there "might" be a flight available through another airline. Frontier did not have any flights going to or near RDU that day.Since my daughter had to be in Raliegh that day I spent the next 10 hours in the car going to get her. I did receive a refund but only because I requested one,otherwise they just don't refund automatically."
Cons: "Customer service represenitives are not very informative. The flights may be slightly cheaper but you have to pay for checked baggage as well as carry on bags. When checking her in the night before and picking a seat in coach my sister had to pay a "fee" for her seat, so an additional fee of $57 dollars for one bag and a seat.... Really?"
Pros: "Priority check in for veterans. But will not be using this airline after this trip."
Cons: "There is a charge for a carry-on luggage fee of $45 so I paid the $40 fee to check my baggage in. Arrived 3 hours before flight. The flight was delayed for 2 hours. Get to the destination with no transfers and my luggage is the only piece that doesn't make it! The baggage claim attendant was all nonchalant and informed me every bag in their history has ALWAYS showed up in a few days. I'm traveling for a weekend business convention....so I had to repurchase clothing and items and possibly another suitcase fot the return trip. I will not be using this airline in the future."
Pros: "The crew were friendly, considerate, and good at their jobs."
Cons: "The 'best' part: Frontier tried to charge me $104 to correct a mistake in my name during the online check-in process! I called and the customer service person agreed to make the correction without charge but also verified that the company did initially post the charge. In general, Frontier tries to charge for every conceivable aspect of a flight, including ANY seat you select (so you must decline to select any to avoid this) and the little snack bags on flights. Also, the first checked bag costs $35. Use with caution."
Pros: "The crew was friendly and professional..smooth flight and landing. On time!"
Cons: "The only thing that I did not like is that they called Zones 1 through 3 simultaneously and that causes forming a line to be a bit chaotic otherwise everything was perfect"

Cons: "No TSA pre-check; this is clearly a budget airline but the price was comparable to other airlines; I was not aware that carry on luggage was an extra charge."
Pros: "The ontime schedule of the flight which went well"
Pros: "Waited in the checkin/baggage check line for 45 minutes to have them tell me I missed baggage check by 4 minutes. Then missed flight because of tsa."
Pros: "The plane was clean and the flight was efficient."
Cons: "I don't like being nickeled and dimed. You have to pay for even a can of pop or juice, and I'd rather just pay the few extra dollars in the up-front flight costs and be able to choose what I'd like to drink."
Pros: "Low fare"
Cons: "High baggage costs for checked AND CARRY-ON bags, add on fees for everything, seats don't recline. I'll use a full service airline next trip. I will say the aircraft were new and clean and, they were very accommodating about a legal handgun in my checked baggage."
Pros: "At least Frontiet airlines boarded by zones as announced. Recent flights taken by me on another airlines leftmewith the impression that the passengers controlled the boarding process."
Pros: "The flight attending Andrew was very rude. Rude to me and many others. I felt it was the worst experience ive had on a flight, i fly often."
Cons: "seats are hard. the time on the ticket was not changed for the time zones so we waited to get to gate"
