the wait time. Sitting on the tarmac for 20-25 minutes in PSP waiting for LAX reaffix to clear. The worst is arriving at LAX at 8;39AM which is earlier than anticipated and not getting a gate opened until 9:25AM (approx) sitting on the runway not being told what is going on and when the captain does make an announcement it is to tell us he apologizes for the delay but then proceeds to announce that he and the crew have to go back and to PSP and LAX four more times. I found that inappropriate to tell us about his work schedule when Im trying to get to the gate for my connecting flight

Delayed flights leading to incredibly tight connection times, staff inconsistent with messaging re the source of the delay, zero compassion for customers, offering $700-$1,400 to get off the plane when you charge $200 to change a flight 2 weeks in advance is especially galling! Will not fly with United again whenever there is a viable alternative to my destination.
Doesn't it get restocked before takeoff?
My family and I were eating and waiting to board our plane at gate 54 on Virgin flight 1948 and my wife was talking to some other people also waiting to board the plane at gate 54 on Virgin flight 1948. They were saying that there weren't very many people at our gate to board the flight so they went to investigate what might be happening and found out the gate to board Virgin flight 1948 was not at gate 54 which was the gate number printed on our boarding pass but was at a different gate on the other side of San Francisco airport at gate 47. What aggravated me was that no one came over to tell us the gate number was changed. We could have very easily missed our flight. And no one at the Virgin check in seemed to care. I'm very dissatisfied with the customer service when it comes to making sure passengers know that there have been gate changes. We almost missed our flight.
My flight experience was not much different from my experience with other airlines. As long as I arrive safely with a minimum of inconvenience, I'm happy. Most airlines meet that standard consistently. Boarding was fine, attendants were fine, flights were on time. VA's entertainment options are an upgrade over other airlines', but that's the chief difference I noticed. And this review is not a complaint: I find it reassuring that there's standardization in airline practices.
VA's posted fares are not fully honest, and that is a regrettable departure from the practice of other airlines. If you choose to buy tickets at the posted price for main cabin, you will find as you proceed with the purchase that that fare applies only to middle seats. Choose a window or aisle seat -- same class, same row -- and you will have to pay more, $70-$80 more for roundtrip tickets, enough to peeve. I flew VA in late January and had forgotten about this when I made arrangements to fly VA again in mid-February. It was irritating to rediscover the practice.
The flt was totally full, yet the crew took care of everyone really well.
Crew and pilot got on the PA 6 times from the time I Sat down till take off, which is too much. That irritated me a lot. They got on the PA to make the usual announcements during the remainder of the flt, which was normal.
