Copa Airlines, Qatar Airways and Iberia have all waived their change and cancellation fees on flights from Panama City to Madrid. Confirm policies on booking site.
Spain has reopened its borders to travelers from most EU and Schengen Area countries; however, entry remains restricted to travelers arriving from other areas, except for Spanish nationals and residents, and accompanying immediate family members.
Spain will not allow entry to inbound travelers that have been in the UK, Brazil or South Africa until at least March 16, with the exception of nationals and residents of Andorra and Spain.
As of July 22, travelers arriving from Serbia are no longer allowed to enter Spain.
For travelers arriving from outside the EU, only the following categories of travelers may enter:

They may enter the country 15 days prior to the start of their studies. •Highly qualified workers, including participants in high-level sporting events that take place in Spain. •People traveling for duly accredited family reasons. •People traveling for duly accredited humanitarian reasons of reasons of force major. •Residents of Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia, or Uruguay, provided that they have come directly from these countries or only made international transits at airports outside of these countries.
From November 23, all travelers (including children) arriving from Albania, Andorra, Argentina, Armenia, Aruba, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Belize, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cape Verde, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, France, French Polynesia, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guam, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Latvia, Lebanon, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Morocco, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Palestinian Territory, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, St. Martin, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, UAE, UK, Ukraine and US, must present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 TMA, LAMP or PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to arrival with the exception of travelers arriving from Azores in Portugal; Rogaland, More og Romsdal, Nordland, Viken, Innlandet, Vestfold og Telemark, Agder, Vestland, Trondelag or Troms og Finnmarkin in Norway; Kitri, Ionia Nisia, Dytiki Ellada or Sterea Ellada in Greece; Faroe Island or Greenland.
Spot checks may be carried out on arrival to confirm travelers have undergone a COVID-19 PCR, TMA or LAMP test and have tested negative. A minimum fine of €3000 may be issued to anyone who does not comply.
Spain has reopened its borders to travelers from the EU, the Schengen area, and the UK. Travelers arriving from the aforementioned areas are no longer required to present a residency certificate or to self-isolate upon entry into Spain; however they will need to complete an "FCS health control form" 48 hours before arrival at https://www.spth.gob.es/. A QR code generated from the completed form must be presented upon arrival.
Travelers will also undergo a temperature check and visual health assessment.
From November 14, travelers visiting the Canary Islands and are booked into regulated tourist accommodation must present a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than 72 hours earlier, when checking in to their accommodation, download and activate the Radar COVID notification app throughout their stay on the islands, and for 15 days after they return home. Children under the age of 7 are exempt from these requirements.
Regional authorities in the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera) have introduced three stages of control for domestic arrivals by sea or air to the islands, in addition to those for international arrivals to Spain.
All tourists arriving from or via regions of Spain with a cumulative incidence of the virus of 150 cases per 100,000 inhabitants or greater must present a negative PCR or TMA carried out within 72 hours prior to arrival. A fine of up to € 3,000 is payable for anyone arriving without a valid test.
Those with a justified reason for travel must complete a declaration and an antigen test upon arrival at the airport or port or will have to undergo a 10-day quarantine.
Those resident in the Balearic islands must have a PCR at origin in the 72 hours prior to their arrival, or be tested on arrival or undergo a 10-day quarantine.
Travelers arriving from Brazil or South Africa are subject to quarantine.
Travelers transiting Spain via a Spanish airport on route to their final destination, the above mentioned PCR, TMA or Lamp test requirement and Health Control Form to enter the country does not apply. They should however, be prepared to show evidence of their onward journey such as flight tickets to their final destination.
Restrictions introduced by Spain on passenger travel from the UK from December 22 until January 19 may also apply to those transiting through Spain to other international destinations.

Relaxing atmosphere, comfortable seating, great in-flight entertainment, although I have the go-go in-flight data/entertainment plan with t-mobile (highly recommended), the flight included a decent selection of movies, television programs, etc. The food far exceeded typical "airline quality," even for an international flight - and included a fabulous little snack box with locally sourced gourmet and specialty items such as chocolate from Belgium, fine cheeses from France, and crackers from England. Drinks = gratis, and crew was exceptionally attentive and went out of their way to make flight as pleasant as possible."

The comfort of the plane was horrendous, with seats over 20 years old and their business class was the same as the coach, but with no one sitting in the middle (can you get any lower than this?) The flight attendant woke me up to shove a food tray that I didn't want. We had to wait over 45 minutes after the plane landing to start seeing some luggage show up on the conveyor bell. The overall flight experience make southwest look like a luxury airline. This was my first and last time flying on KLM."

Cons: "The obtaining of the boarding pass in Newark needed more people to help get the boarding pass. I like the option to use a machine if I want to generate a boarding pass but there were issues with the machines and not enough people to help alleviate the backup of people having to wait."

Pros: "The marvel of flying. Hurling through the air in a metal tubeZ amazing. We got there safe and on time. That’s what I liked about United. Oh and there was a CSR that was helpful in changing to an earlier flight."

Like sitting on a plastic frame with a piece of fake leather over it. Entertainment was awful. Oh wait, non existent since it was an “out of country” flight so there was no access to movies (that you had to PAY for). Otherwise you got to watch Matthew Perry in some taxi game show over and over and over and over on a monitor in your face that couldn’t be shut off. United is my last choice in airlines. But we did get to the destination safe and on time."

Cons: "I paid 1308$ for the tickets, I wasn't expecting first class experience but honestly I was just shocked. First off the flight attendant was so rude, whenever I asked for something or said thank you she would just stare at me and not respond. I mean I get it, it's a red eye flight I wasn't expecting anyone to be chipper. But honestly that was especially rude having to deal with her for the 6 hour trip to Madrid. Second the food was especially disgusting. The chicken was in this white sauce that looked like discharge and if taste like rubber. The bread was hard to bite into. Everything was so stale and tasted so bad I wondered how long they had that food sitting there. My last trip to Europe I flew Swiss air to Italy they had the best customer service and the food didn't taste like I was eating cardboard in jail. I am never flying united airlines to Europe again. It is too long of a trip for subpar service."

Cons: "It was impossible to download a boarding pass on either Lufthansa's website or any other (code share with United). Lufthansa gives you a number to call but they are open only 9-5 weekdays; when I called their regular office, I listened to a very annoying message routing for 15 minutes before hanging up. They have to work this out better, though I must say that at the United gate I could print it out easily at the machine, and the staff there was exceptionally helpful"
Cons: "I was very displeased with the boarding process in Panama City. We were moved from the boarding area without explanation and asked to screen our luggage again at the gate. I had to discard a full bottle of water that I purchased after the first security check. It would have been nice to know about this before so that we could consume our water and use the rest room before boarding. Very frustrating!"

The Carmel/waffle treat was amazing and they offered a full can of soda. On the reverse flight, this flight that I'm reviewing, none of these amenities were offered. Additionally the temperature cycle between ice cold and quite uncomfortably warm."
