Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Cons: "Be on time. Run planes that aren’t constantly breaking down."
Pros: "Crew members were all very pleasant and personable. A very special experience with the local ticket agent / boarding agent (double duty) in Guadalajara: Maria Hernandez (or perhaps Fernandez) who was pleasant, professional, helpful and even called us respectfully by name ("Mr. and Mrs. Petrusek") She is an outstanding representative of American Airlines! Gracias to her!!"

Pros: "Flight attendant was great, plane was comfortable and clean"
Cons: "No WiFi, it was delayed, bags came off a different belt so we didn’t find them for 30 minutes... but at least we found them"
Pros: "Crew was very friendly."

Pros: "The flight was on time. The crew was friendly."

Cons: "Overhead bins were full before my seat, so bag had to go in one behind me and it was a disaster trying to get it when it was time to get off the plane"
Pros: "No problems, arrived early"
Cons: "Obnoxious amount of confusion at gate. Employees continuously announced and posted conflicting departure times. Was shocked by lack of assistance in finding new flights, alternative methods of transportation to destination, etc. Eventually rescheduled for red-eye flight the following day (over 24 hours later). Found alternate transportation. Don't feel like I could trust AMERICAN with my travel plans again."
Pros: "very nice crew"
Cons: "small jetcraft"
Pros: "The boarding was efficient. The service was fine. The pilot was informative."
Pros: "The flight attendant was one of the best that we have ever had on this flight. Since we were a late afternoon flight out of O'Hare we did had a departure delay. But the flight attendant served us drinks and snacks while on the ground. And after we took off he came around again and offered us more drinks and snacks. As we departed the plane he even offered us snacks to take with us."
Cons: "Small plane, cramped seating."
Pros: "No breakfast"
Pros: "Very courteous crew.pilot was amazing!! Landed in tough wind"
Pros: "Crew was great. Courteous and efficient."
Cons: "For a long flight the entertainment options were pathetic. Also the flight was 2 hours late. And there were no chargers at the seats so that also limited the entertainment options. The food was too salty and fatty."
Cons: "This flight was miserable. Seriously, one of the worst flight experiences I've ever had. The leg room was absurdly small. I'm not a tall person and I only had one inch in front of my legs. When the guy in front of me put his seat back it pressed into my knees. There wasn't enough space to bend down and untie my shoes, let alone get something out of my bag. My shoulder and knee were touching the guy next to me (a complete stranger) for the entire flight and there was nothing I could do about it. This was a red-eye but I absolutely could not sleep because it was so uncomfortable, so when we landed I had a terrible migraine and was nauseous and disoriented going through customs. I actually had to sit down in the airport because I though I was gonna pass out while trying to carry my bag, that's how shitty I felt after this flight. On top of that, not being able to sleep on the flight really messed up my sleep schedule and so jet lag from the time change has been made even worse, so I'm completely out of whack and its so much worse that it otherwise would have been because of the horrible flight. Also the food was gross and there wasn't enough of it. Even now, I don't think I have really communicated just how shitty this flight was. I was actually angry when I saw my seat upon boarding, and I'm still angry about it now."
Pros: "Had no problems. Everything went smoothly thank God."
Pros: "boarding process"
Cons: "seats feel crowded. the actual seat is very uncomfortable, they lack padding."
Pros: "We made it there and back on time and safely"
Cons: "This was an old plane; there was no power for devices, no individual movie screens as on other trans atlantic carriers, food was so so."
Cons: "The limitation on available hardware that is compatible with the GoGo app prevented us from enjoying the available entertainment."
Cons: "Horrible - Flight was diverted to IAD for no legitimate reason. Rebooked out of DCA with no travel vouchers. Most likely never booking with American Airlines again."
Pros: "Since air travel holds little charm for those of us who ride in economy class, my expectations are pretty low. The crew was polite and there were no delays."
Cons: "The food was typically low quality."
Pros: "On time Friendly attendants Great service Mike in First Class was awesome"
Cons: "No complaints"
Cons: "Missed connection flight because they were late taking off, stuck in Munich all day. Only some of us got our second ticket to begin with even though we were told to check in to both through AA. They did take responsibility and pay for our lunch though so there's that."
Cons: "Was very stuffy and hot. Plane never cooled down."
Cons: "The landing gate in Palm Springs."
Pros: "The flight itself was smooth and quiet"
Cons: "The delay was to accommodate other passengers, but we sat in the airport for hours. AA's communication about the situation was poor, at best, the staff was tired and cranky, and there was no effort to make sure that we were not inconvenienced."
Cons: "No usb or wall chargers. No inseat entertainment and glitchy wifi entertainment"
Cons: "The 20 minute wait before we could dock at the gate An annoying air vent making an intermittent noise... Something broken obviously"
Pros: "Flight departed on time.our trip out there was disappointing , causing us to get there very late costing us money."
Cons: "Airline did not notify us that as of 10-15-16 the Samsung Note 7 phone could not be bought on the plane. Because my sister Phillip Mae had a meeting at 10am in Greensboro, N.C. she was forced to give her phone to American Airline."
Cons: "Customer service unwilling to change flight during hurricane."
Pros: "My 17 year old daughter flew American Airlines to attend a wedding. She recently had spinal surgery and is not able to lift more than 5lbs. After being assured by the airline that staff would help her with her carryon luggage, she was abandoned and ignored by both flight attendants. Each flight attendant referred het to the next, so she is walking back and forth tor their amusement. Tears rolling down her face, finally an elderly passenger helped her. Then the staff gave her attitude the entire flight. She may appear healthy, but she was cut from her neck to her waist and had two rods inserted along with bone grafts. I just cannot believe how awful she was treated."
Cons: "The customer service was terroble. My daughter was humiliated."
Pros: "Love the movies!!!"
Cons: "Passengers are allowed to take too much on the plane, which makes boarding & getting off take WAY TO LONG. If American would follow Southwest and allow 1 free bag, this problem would end. E"
Pros: "Treated like a person not a ticket"
Pros: "No complaints"
Cons: "It's was good"
Pros: "Comfortable seating considering economy. Food decent."
Cons: "2 hour delay due to no captain available. Told us about it when we were supposed to be boarding."
Pros: "Easy and efficient boarding"
Cons: "Delayed flight No food/drink service offered"
Cons: "My son and I were scheduled to leave Providence to Philadelphia on Monday at 6:05. Flight went through a series of delays until we were finally informed that our flight would not make the flight departing Philly to SF. Rather than fly to Philly during the DNC, we decided to SPEND ANOTHER NIGHT IN PROVIDENCE and take the flight out the next day. This part of the trip caused me to lose a day of work and spend more money on a hotel and meals. This was very poor planning on your part since there were flights flying in and out of both places, but your company was short one aircraft that would have gotten my son and I home on time!!! This was my last flight on American Airlines and I will be sure to spread the word to my friends and family that you have become too unreliable!!"
