Too much delay

New plant with ample leg room!

The last minute gate change was not great. We arrived at the new gate and nearly all the seats were occupied. Beyond that I do not understand why many passengers were called up to verify their paperwork at the gate. This should be handled elsewhere. Again we lost our seats when asked to do this.

Flight was delayed AGAIN. Rough landing. Did not seem to have a clue what to do

Too much waiting after a long flight. I fly to NYC all the time and I’m usually in the city one hour after I land and it took 2 hours 15 min to get to Queens. Usually I have great flights with JetBlue. Last night was not the case. You get a C."

We got to airport at 3:45 am- no one at the check in counter, employees finally arrived at 4 am, checked in, but then we don’t have seats asssigned! We get to the gate and wait-wait-wait until almost 5am and finally the employees were able to find someone willing to move so that myself and kids don’t get seats in emergency exit row. Nuts. Very unpleasant(not the employees, those were nice-it’s the check in and seat assignment policies)."

Pros: "Jet Blue was GREAT- as usual. I want you to know that getting through security in ATL airport was an ordeal. Incredibly long lines, disorganized (a sign clearly said, TSA Pre-check- line up here) and then the people managing the lines yelling at us (and this is an observation) because they wanted us lined up further back. This was baffling because the actual line into the TSA space was empty at that point. I think the ATL security staff could all benefit from some further training about to work with people effectively AND ATL airport needs to look at their systems. I know it's a busy airport, but there has to be something better than what they are doing now!"

Cons: "When I scanned my boarding pass the Jetblue staff member told me my carry on was too big and had to be checked. This was puzzling to me because I travel often and do not have a problem with that bag. As I was sitting on the plane I saw everyone's bag's were bigger especially the man next to me. His was significantly larger and he had a large duffle bag between his legs causing him to manspread into my area. and yet i was told "make sure your purse is under the seat" seriously?! What about his giant duffle bag and huge carry on roller?!"

Cons: "Upon boarding an odor of vomit was obvious. An attendant announced that a previous passenger had been sick in the row and there was no time to adequately clean it. There was only one food option available for purchase. Neither the overhead reading light or entertainment system at my seat worked. The first attendant I approached told me she could find me a seat in the back of the plane. I declined as I reserved a seat in the front of the plane in order to deplane and go through customs swiftly. I was then offered a seat directly behind the row where the passenger had vomited. Eventually, a different attendant placed me in a seat nearer the front of the place where both the light and entertainment system worked."
Cons: "Our flight was delayed making it so I and several others had less than 4 minutes to catch our next flight. The flight attendants wouldn’t help us at all. Instead of having us come to the front of the plane to exit first we had to ask the rest of the passengers if they didn’t mind letting us through to catch our flight. I have severe psoriatic arthritis and I had to sprint to my next gate that had been changed making it much farther away from our arrival gate. Now I get to spend my vacation in pain trying to recover."

Cons: "What I didn’t like was how my flight got cancelled and the only flight I was able to get was 4 days later. So I was stuck in the Dominican Republic for a total of two weeks!! I had to miss another weekend at work which made me lose a lot of money since I’m a barber and lost some one my clientele. On top of my flight being cancelled it also got delayed again but only by 30 minutes so I wasn’t so upset. When it came to the boarding, that had to be the slowest boarding I’ve went through. The gate seemed very behind on the technology and that caused the workers to work even slower. At times they had to step away and go on their monitor to fix something out so it took an extra 30 minutes before I even got into my seat, and I was sitting in row 6 of the plane. Then after everyone was seated the flight got held back an extra half hour because a lady wanted to file a complaint saying that she got pushed and ended up being the only person that got kicked off the flight so she did it all for nothing. So with everything happening, our flight got delayed an hour and a half. Very disappointed.."

Cons: "There were only two flights, one to my and one to Boston. My bag went to the wrong place and the way they handled it was disgusting. Making us run around the airport with no answers and nobody wanting to check the conveyer belt. Then they said if they found it they would let me know. They found the bag and they said by 6:30. Well, 6:30 passed and they had my bag but they couldn't tell me when it would be delivered and they use a third party company who they didn't have a contact number for or any answer as to when it would be delivered (I needed several things for work so it was a rush). Lastly, the lady I spoke to on the phone said it was my fault that I would not be there to receive the bag the following day as they did what they are supposed to. I was really surprised with how bad this customer service was as a whole. No communication and just nasty."

Pros: "The crew seemed capable and came around a couple times with water. We arrived safe and sound as one would hope for, if an hour or so later than scheduled. Seats seemed roomier than most standard economy/coach (probably due to it being an older model). Though I didn’t partake they seemed to offer more complimentary snack options than other airlines."
Cons: "The airplane cabin had a strong urine odor that endured throughout the red-eye flight, the air temperature had to have been at least 75 degrees, probably 80 which was a bit stifling. No usb/power at the seat which would be preferable/should be standard by now for a coast-to-coast flight. Seat didn’t recline which isn’t the end of the world but a bit of a bummer. My headphones didn’t work with the little screen at my seat but it’s ok because based on my neighbor’s screen it was just a rotating lineup of Jet Blue commercials/fake tv shows that I can easily pass on."

This practise delays boarding, delays disembarkation, makes the aircraft top heavy in takeoff and landing and creates 'pop open and drop' type accidents. Cons: "The flight was delayed by 1hour and 40 min. One hour at the boarding gate and 40min on the airstrip. Pilot said we were overweight. When we landed at 730 vs 557 we still had a delay because our gate was occupied causing a greater dalay. Due ro this delay I was late to work. The flight attendee making the announcements might have been new because she kept messing up what she was saying and shouting and mumbling through the speaker. I usually have amazing flights with jetblue but I'm highly disappointed with this flight."

Cons: "When I received my luggage it was so damaged that someone used clear tape to keep it closed. There was no note inside the luggage to state if it was tsa who went through the bag so I went to customer service to inquire about it. The representative from New York airport stated that I over packed my bag that's why it was damaged. I can assure you that my bag was under weight and there was no problem when i last closed it. So to be clear both zippers on my luggage was completely destroyed and taped up like a ragged cloth. I was embarrassed to walk around with my bag and the only recompensation I received was a $40 credit to my next flight."

2hr delay. Other airlines were all flying out on time so maybe it was staff shortage? When we eventually took off, we went from Cancun to JFK in 3 hours. Fast once in the air.

Cons: "I dont know WHY Delta changed my flight with ALIITALIA, but, DON'T DO IT DELTA. The check in process took an hour, not talking about the line, the ACTUAL checkin at the counter. I couldn't complete my web checkin at the AliItalia web site. Landed in JFK, still sucks as an airport, nobody helps, nobody explains anything, very poor signs and instructions, Global Entry kiosk are hard to spot. My connection ticket didn't have the TSA/PRECHECK legend, went to AliItalia counter, the lady at AliItalia barely said anything when I asked for help with that, her immediate answer was to disengage and sent me to another terminal "to talk to Delta". She didn't explain or didn't want to give an explanation until I started to act as an already 9hr30min flight frustrated customer in a very old, very poor plane with poor food service. Again, I bought an over $1,000 ticket with DELTA, NOT ALIITALIA, if Delta send people with their "partners" at least make sure that they are taken care of properly."

Cons: "The last travelers in boarding line (including myself) had to check their carry on luggage because “there was no more room in the overhead compartments”. However, while I was walking to my seat, I saw ample storage space as well as suitcases that were laying horizontally or flat and could easily have been adjusted to create even more space. Given that most people pack their most valuable items in their carry on bags (as well as anything fragile), I was a bit uneasy checking mine. The associate who helped check my bag on the tarmac was kind. I was grateful that my luggage had a hard shell case."

Cons: "The security process in the Prague airport is so ridiculous. There are security agents who screen you in the baggage drop off line that makes the line take a very long time. Once you finally get your sticker from them it’s a quick trip through customs. Then the pain really begins with a security scan st each individual gate to enter a boarding area for the plane. Then I was pulled for extra security where a male agent touched my but with some sort of swab with no warning. He then claimed to not speak English (with zero accent when I asked him a question). It was a humiliating and very long process all run by delta!"

Cons: "My one complaint is the bathroom layout of the A320. Two tiny closet bathrooms in the back for all of coach and a much larger one much larger one first class (which is like 5 rows with a mesh curtain for separation). The coach bathrooms are so small a normal person can barely get in and turn around to close the door. I question whether a larger person would be able to actually use them. I also saw the flight attendant actively turn away coach passengers trying to use the first class bathroom when it was open (not standing in the aisle or anything annoying like that). That's ridiculous to have 2 tiny bathrooms for all of coach and also to make people walk all the way to the back of the plane when you are seated much closer to the first class bathroom."

Cons: "Upon deplaning in Cancun, ALL passengers are put on a bus and driven far away from the terminals to an arrivals area. Those of us with connecting flights are royally f*cked at that point, especially if your connection is short, as mine was. The so-called shuttle to the departure terminals, which are entire kilometers away, was to arrive in like half an hour. HALF AN HOUR. Who has this time to spare?? The alternative to the shuttle is paying a taxi that charges a hefty fare--and God help you if you don't have cash. The departures terminal was swamped and only thru begging assistance and line cuts did I make my connection...and then only by the skin of my teeth. It was a complete nightmare."
Cons: "The Cancun airport provides a terrible experience for transferring between flights, especially if you need to change from the international terminal to a domestic terminal or vice-versa. There is no way to get between terminals inside security and the free shuttle is slow and overcrowded. Meanwhile, one is forced to run a gauntlet of taxi and shuttle drivers trying to get you to pay them exorbitant fees to drive you to your terminal. Once you finally arrive you discover that there is no dedicated baggage recheck for an international arrival. Just don't buy a ticket that transfers in CUN."

Cons: "the older stuardess on my flight from Cancun to Atlanta was very misinformed- told me my carry on wouldn't fit in the over head bin... it did. Told me I had to check my duty free liquor.. I didn't. Told me I couldn't bring all of my liquor in to the US... I could. I just kept saying ok to her just to shut her up, but she ensued with her comments and wrong info as if I don't travel as often as I do. Perhaps she was attempting to be helpful, but it came off as obnoxious and rude especially since she was wrong on every accord. Humbleness and customer service training would do her very good. All other DELTA staff have been great."
Cons: "For a competitive price charged by almost any other airline for the same distance, there was no lunch on a midday international flight? That is terrible. To make things worse, the entertainment screen was broken. It did not respond to touches. More of an ordeal than entertainment. To top it all, the current flight info (e.g. time at departure & destination, flight duration) was all wrong. Not a pleasant experience."

Audio for boarding was a little unclear so there was some confusion at boarding. For reasons unknown, my bag was moved from one overhead bin to another. Very frustrating since I board early to avoid this confusion and hassle."

Cons: "The flight attendants were uniformly rude and nasty to passengers from start to finish. As I boarded, I asked for a piece of art to be stored in the wardrobe compartment. This was treated as an inconvenience. During and after boarding, flight attendants addressed passengers rudely when encouraging them to take their seats in a timely fashion. Later, when my seat mate politely asked a FA to repeat the food options, she asked, "Excuse me?" several times and seemed very irritated to have to repeat the choices for him. Also, near the end of the flight, a pillow was on the ground and a FA asked those seated in my row to pick it up. We responded that it wasn't ours and she said something to the effect of, "Oh yeah? So how did it get there?" (Maybe because someone else dropped it and we didn't notice?) The FAs seemed irritated to serve passengers at all. Each time they passed through for beverage or meal service, I felt like I was imposing on them. I have never witnessed anything quite like it. Makes me wonder why they were all so upset and and felt it appropriate to speak and act disrespectfully toward customers. (Delta, do you have any insights?) I hope they all got a good night's rest after that haul."

I slept in the airport because i couldnt find a hotel to spend the night close to the airport. They were all full and i had no time to find one since I was waiting there for 3 hours with no informational. I slept on the floor and delta didnt even offer us a blanket. That was my worst trip ever."
Pros: "Boarding in St Thomas is always a mess, no matter what airline you fly. I usually fly Delta because the planes are clean and the people are nice. Well this time the staff went well above and beyond. My friend and I were sitting in the front row of seats in the lounge at the airport, facing the Delta gates. There was a mob of people milling about between us and the gate, so we could not see very well, but we thought we had a clear view of the door. Also it was very loud in the terminal. The flight had a delay, so we were relaxing and chatting, when I got a text from my mom asking if I was on the plane. So I went to the counter to inquire if they had started boarding our flight. The lady looked at me with surprise and said, "We have been paging you!!". Well we were both surprised! We had not heard anything over the general din in the airport. It turns out they had completed boarding and already rolled the stairs away from the plane! The ground staff talked to the captain and then they rolled up a set of stairs, opened the door to the plane, and let us on! The flight attendants said that they had never seen that happen before. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the crew at Delta for going the extra mile to make sure we made it on our flight."

The boarding process was a nightmare, very disorganized the crew members starting boarding group by group just using ONE of the two entrances available because of it the line to board the plan occupied almost 2 boarding gates. I couldn’t reclaim my seat because it was broke, the quality of the food was very mediocre, crew members attitude were upsetting... uncaring and ignoring passengers call. Another filthy plain ... I had 4 flights with avianca between 2 International fights and 2 national connections, all flights were terrible! The worse part is I probably could’ve flight more comfortable for less money or at least get what I paid for."

When we asked to be switched to a different flight so we would not have to wait until 2pm the next day, they eventually booked us on an early flight. We stayed in the airport overnight in anticipation of this flight. The next morning they informed us 10 minutes before boarding that they delayed that flight so we could no longer make our connection. We had to spend 15 hours total in Bogota airport before being able to go home. Avianca used to never be this inconsistent with flights. They should not be allowed to do whatever they wish to passengers flights and offer minimal compensation when they inconvenience customers."
Cons: "On Feb 26th we had a flight leaving Bogota back to NYC, and at the gate, we found out our flight would not be operated by Avianca, but by a Spanish carrier called WAMOS. Wamos airlines does not offer in-flight entertainment. It offers an app that you can download on your mobile device prior the flight, even though there are no plugs inside the plane and no fully reclining seats. This change is being caused by an ongoing strike action by some of their own pilots and this has been regarded with absolute no consideration from Avianca to its costumers. At the airport we talked to 3 different customer services employees, all giving us different versions of the story and no clear answers. One employee told us that we MAY have a possibility of reimbursement and another one that we could stay in a hotel and catch another flight the next day (which was not an option for us) There was no advance warning about this change to me (not even during check-in) Found out later some passengers gotten an email informing about this change, but not all of them. Staff didn't know anything about this flight. The gate staff only informed passengers of the change, after I complained, and kept insisting that the airplanes were the same, when clearly it was not the same quality, in amenities and service on board. There were big delays and a mess with seat assignments. Many customers traveling together with separated seats and of course, delays in departure caused by the mess that Avianca caused. Just to be clear. what Avianca is doing is stealing the money that we paid for a specific flight, to voluntary change us to a much less inferior flight, with absolutely no consideration and no compensations."

Three months later, the connecting flight back to new York was delayed from 3pm to after 6pm and had a gate change without notification by the airline to the waiting passengers. I was not the only one upset by this. We were not compensated in any way for these delays. Quality of service seems to not be high on their list of priorities at all. I WILL NEVER fly Avianca again and I want at least a partial refund! I strongly suggest going with a competitor if you can."

Impressive. On our return journey, no such luck! No attendant to meet us, and a huge line at immigration, full of panicked and stressed-out passengers jockeying for position, with no-one from ANY airline there to do a triage for those with the shortest connections. Ridiculous. In addition, the passport-scanning machines were very slow and quirky. My own passport was rejected because there was no evidence I had passed through Munich on my outward bound journey!! RIDICULOUS. I managed to slip through to a human being and begged the immigration officer to let me go through with my husband, who had had no such problem. The officer told me he could not find a stamp from my earlier transit through!!! Eventually I suppose he did because he let me through. The stamp was there, I found it, but it had been sloppily applied and was half off the page...hence the rejection by the scanner. We made the flight by minutes. NOT GOOD! Surely Lufthansa could do better in their own country???"

Cons: "It was quickly clear to me that the passengers where simply an inconvenience to some of the crew on UA998. As an example I fell asleep during take off and woke up in the middle of the meal service. The cart was only a couple of rows behind me in the half-ful Economy Plus section so I got up and tried to get the attention of the staff. The lady turned around and confirmed that "I had woken up" with a sigh, as is not only was it inconvenient to her that I was a sleep, now I had the nerves to actually ask for a meal. She presented me with the options of pasta and chicken and I politely asked what they where served with. She straight out said that "she really did not know that" and asked me to make a choice. I wont get into any other examples, the machine was half full at best and there was no stress, so frustrating to be treated like you are an inconvenience to the USA based staff who clearly just wanted to be left alone. The entertainment system barely worked, the touch monitor was very hard to operate - the pressure sensitive functionality was not working properly but I managed to get to my movie and avoid the Chinese subtitles in the third try. I fly United because it's part of Star Alliance, but otherwise I would try and avoid at all cost."

The airport had to close due to an emergency, that's out of Lufthansa's hands I obviously understand that. However, the way we were "helped" through all of this was unbelievable- over two and a half hours of phone calls with them, while in Europe (so paying God knows what per minute), 4 hours to get my luggage back so we could leave, absolutely no one from Lufthansa around to help or even tell us what's going on, put us on a flight the following day with two layovers now (paid more for only one layover but what can I do). Next day, at Alitalia gate (Lufthansa put me on an itinerary with flights from Alitalia, Lufthansa and United) had to pay AGAIN to check the bag that I had just paid to check the previous day where we did not end up flying anywhere (showed Alitalia the receipt, they didn't care in the slightest and said its Lufthansas problem, 0 stars for them as well), either way finally got through our 2 layovers, only to discover the final leg of our trip (United/ Lufthansa flight) is delayed 3 hours. Just about to board, now it's delayed another 5 hours. Because we were short a pilot...... Short a pilot, really....? Ended up getting home at 2am on a work night, completely jet lagged and utterly exhausted from being in an airport for 2 straight days. Supposed to get compensation as per United flight crew, only I put my ticket information in the website and it doesn't work for me of course because I have a Lufthansa ticket. No one cares, no one helps, now it's time for Amex to step in and get all of my money back."

Cons: "There were many empty seats in the economy plus section. Once in flight passengers were offered an upgrade but it was still about 300 dollars. I understand that if the price for an upgrade dropped once in flight people would just wait until then to upgrade. However, I think something should be done differently somehow. If economy plus is frequently not full then please consider refiguring your planes to give regular economy just a bit more space, even an inch or two would make it nicer. At the end of our flight the passenger behind me was crying because of pain in her jaw and face. The flight attendants were very attentive, and did all the right things. Except they advised the passenger to see a dentist before her flight home. They should know that sinus pressure, or pain from a sinus infection, can feel like a tooth problem. Just FYI. A suggestion to visit an urgent care center that day would be more appropriate. An urgent care center would be able to take care of sinus problems (she sat behind me for a transatlantic flight I can tell you she had some). An urgent care center would also be able to refer her to another provider as needed."

They offer a very good service in the economy class which includes free wine (and not only sodas) and a large selection of free newspapers which I value a lot. Newspapers are much more interesting to read than watching movies in my personal opinion. Overall, when aboard Lufthansa, one does not have the feeling of cheapness seen so often on competing airlines. A few years ago, when flying from San Diego to New York, a 5 hour flight on a major US carrier, passengers were not even offered a free drink. Everything had to be paid for. In comparison, all food and all drinks are free on Lufthansa which includes not only wine but also Baileys (a sweet liquor). Given the excellent service, ticket prices charged by Lufthansa are a bargain even if at a small premium over the competition."

Cons: "The flight itself was adequate. Very barebones but not meets basic expectations. Not too much turbulence, smooth sailing once we got into the air. The flight was 3hours delayed due to inclement weather but I was extremely happy that Kayak emailed me to tell me that it was in fact delayed."

Pros: "I’m not sure what I missed when I booked our tickets a couple months ago, we never got email or text reminder for check in. I thought they may just not have online check in option for certain routes. Then we found out people from same flight did get reminder. My husband and I both have globe entry. They did it right when we flew out. On the way back, there was no TSA sign on my boarding pass, so I was redirected to regular line. The plane wasn’t full on the returned flight, yet they assigned seats indifferent rows and way back of plane. I notice there were some empty seats in the front and middle of plane, they packed a lot of people in the back and separated people who traveled together but not paid and selected seats. Is it policy of Sun Country airline? Last time we took Sun Country, they didn’t assigned seats accurately although we paid fee for selected seats. After sending in complain, they did refund the selected fee for my husband. Hope they would see this and improve their ticketing."

Pros: "Nothing it was a horrible experience, Sun Country would not take any of the passengers calls and we were not told why the flight was our five hours late. The flight crew at JFK was pleasant but they seem to be very nervous and withholding information about why the flight was late and they never actually explained to the passengers why the flight was late."
Cons: "They did not offer us any explanation nor did they give us any credits there was a very minor apology from the pilot somewhat blaming the crew at JFK which is not fair. I've never experienced service like this from Suncountry airline before and I will definitely think twice before booking a flight with them again ."

They really did make up for the bummer that the 5 hour delivery caused. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even let us go sit in the first class seats which were very comfortable"

Cons: "The counter in Cozumel took forever. I think heir computers were very slow. All 4 associates mainly stared at their screens but never offered much as to why theirs were moving slowly . They also on flight to Cozumel from Cozumel and back to DFW they could not seat me and my travling companion together unless we wanted to pay $25 each for an exit row , really ?"
Pros: "Friendly crew, flight left and departed on time, good value for the money. Terminal 2 at MSP is really convenient. Can't comment on the food, I didn't eat on the flight. I don't need to be entertained. I will definitely fly Sun Country again."

But as we were attempting to board I had to be checked a second time, I do not feel that this was necessary since I was already cleared by TSA. All they said was this is a random check. I was held so long that my and my wife had to search for over head space for our carry on bags, as there was almost none left. I do not feel that there was any cause for this and made our return flight very unpleasant."
