Roomy plane. Crew was friendly.

This was a flight to Morocco. The first leg was thru Jet Blue to JFK. The second Royal Maroc to Casablanca. I had contacted Royal Maroc about excess and overweight baggage (the ticket was purchased here). I was told no problem pay for it upon check in. At check in I was not allowed to bring the extra baggage. I had originally told Maroc that it would be two boxes. It ended up being one. Jet Blue said I was not permitted to bring a box or a 4th piece of luggage. No feasible solution was offered other than to drive to JFK (10 hours from RDU). I would have needed to check in in less than 8.

The plane was delayed 90 minutes and there was only 1 update to the time made available by sending me a text (after I was already at the airport). The boards were updated with the delay estimate but delta never thought to send out the info to the passengers outside of 1 single text. Their policy made asking for a refund for THEIR mess up unavailable. I will never fly delta again.

I liked the automatic updates about changes to our flight sent to my e-mail.

The airline had several issues with maintenance, logistics, and getting information to the passengers. When the airline had issues with the plane, passengers were told there would be a delay, but several hours later, the flight was cancelled. When the decision to cancel was finally made, nobody in the gate area knew or heard what was going on because they had a different flight boarding at the same time we were originally told we would board our delayed flight. So, passengers were left sitting around (well after the flight was cancelled) waiting for more information about our "delayed flight". Only those passengers with mobile devices were informed via e-mail, and could act quickly to change flights or even check in for the flight they had been moved to. Now, the plane ride itself was fine, but when we got to our destination, the air bridge had technical issues as well, leaving us trapped on the plane for almost half an hour. When passengers that had transfers were asked to get off first to get on a bus to go to the terminals, they were asked to sit back down 5 minutes later. Needless to say, the airline could use more maintenance checks of ALL mechanical equipment, from doors, bridges, and planes (of course). Communication to passengers in the gate area need to be clearer, so use those screens behind the counter to state what the hell is going on with particular flights, that way passengers don't have to continually ask the agents what is happening now?

Three hours delay. I paid for a upgrade to first class. But because of the flight change i didn't get to keep my upgrade and I had to beg for a refund. I have had two trips in the past 5 days and all flights have been anywhere from 1 to 3 hours late. Worst experience with AA I have had in a long time.

The flight was late. Also, they only accept cash onboard for refreshments. That has the consequence of the crew getting on the PA system asking people for change, and scurrying around the cabin in a desperate shell game exchanging bills. It's 2016. Get with the program and accept credit cards.

We did eventually get there

What should have been a 90 minute flight took over 4 hours! Between mechanical failure, overbooking and waiting for gates and sky bridges we missed our connection. Then when they rebooked our connection on a British Airways flight, BA couldn't pull up the tickets and we wasted yet another hour while Virgin Atlantic and Delta both passed the buck as to who was responsible for correcting it so we could get on our rebooked flight, which we BARELY did with only 2 minutes to spare!

The seats were uncomfortable. They were hard and so narrow I had to sit crooked in the seat to keep from getting banged into by the service carts and every person going by to the bathrooms. I'm not tiny, but I'm not huge either, it was just overcrowded. It was also very hot in the airplane the entire way from Phoenix to Spokane. My husband, who is always cold, was even hot.

Only those passengers with mobile devices were informed via e-mail, and could act quickly to change flights or even check in for the flight they had been moved to. Now, the plane ride itself was fine, but when we got to our destination, the air bridge had technical issues as well, leaving us trapped on the plane for almost half an hour. When passengers that had transfers were asked to get off first to get on a bus to go to the terminals, they were asked to sit back down 5 minutes later. Needless to say, the airline could use more maintenance checks of ALL mechanical equipment, from doors, bridges, and planes (of course). Communication to passengers in the gate area need to be clearer, so use those screens behind the counter to state what the hell is going on with particular flights, that way passengers don't have to continually ask the agents what is happening now?

I liked the automatic updates about changes to our flight sent to my e-mail.

The airline had several issues with maintenance, logistics, and getting information to the passengers. When the airline had issues with the plane, passengers were told there would be a delay, but several hours later, the flight was cancelled. When the decision to cancel was finally made, nobody in the gate area knew or heard what was going on because they had a different flight boarding at the same time we were originally told we would board our delayed flight. So, passengers were left sitting around (well after the flight was cancelled) waiting for more information about our "delayed flight".
