Pros: "My flight from STX was delayed some 30 minutes. That made a dent in the 57 minutes I had to catch my Delta flight. Naturally we landed at gate A2 and Delta was boarding at Terminal 2 gate B9. Me with my knee replacement can’t run and my wheelchair was not in sight. Thank goodness I had a carryon with wheels. I was out of breath when I got to Delta and the last passengers were boarding. I started panicking and interrupted the ground steward who asked me to wait with a smile. I waited . So when I told them I was standby they waved me on after showing my passport. I couldn’t find my boarding pass. I was pleasantly surprised to get a seat in first class. I was so thankful. My first time. Good things come to those who wait! Thank you Delta."

Cons: "I purchased a basic economy ticket and upon checking in, my Delta app said my seat was unassigned and I had to get my boarding pass at the airport. I checked back later and the app had me as number 7 on the standby list. I called Delta (wait time 3+ hours... my flight was in 3), and then the Delta app support where I was able to get through to someone. She told me that the ticket I purchased over a month in advance did not guarantee me a seat on the plane (???). She said that if I was bumped from the flight they would reschedule me for the next morning. She was pretty rude and made it seem like I had a 50/50 shot of getting on this plane. I rushed to the airport in hopes that I would be the first from Standby there, and the gate agent told me that I was fine and would board right after first class and be assigned a seat then. Great. Once I got my seat assignment, I board to find out there is someone else sitting in my seat...... They eventually called the desk and had her moved, but it was the weirdest boarding experience I've had.. and I've flown Spirit. These planes that Delta fly's are SO OLD. Both times I have flown Delta the "turbulence" has been so bad and cold air was blowing right on my the whole flight with no option to turn it off (it wasn't from one of the vents, but from the side). Someone close to me works for Delta and I know for a fact that some of their engines blow mid-flight.. and they tell the passengers that it's turbulence.. so that doesn't make me feel very safe. I won't fly Delta again if there is another comparable option."

Won't make the mistake of flying Frontier again because it's cheaper (rude service, delayed flights, no refreshments = cheaper). I recommend other travelers splurge for any other airline (maybe not United)"

After my ticket had been scanned at the gate and I was already halfway down the gangway, a gate agent began yelling at me to come back. The other passengers looked at me like I was a criminal or something and it was quite humiliating. The agent said (rather rudely) that I had to pay an additional $40 for my carry-on. I explained that I was told the bag was fine when I was at the ticket counter but they did not care. They further informed me that I was paying $10 more for my bag than I would have at the ticket counter, leaving me feeling scammed. I emailed the company immediately upon arrival, explained the situation, and asked for a refund of the carry-on fee given the unusual circumstances. I was flatly refused. Horrible experience, horrible employees, horrible customer service, horrible airline. Their ticket prices might be low, but that only seems to be to lure customers in so they can be tricked and swindled for more money. I paid more for my bags than I did for my ticket!! This company seems to operate on a "bait and switch" business model and through some research I did on them following this experience I found they already have compliants against them to the Better Business Bureau. AVOID THIS AIRLINE AT ALL COSTS!!!"

Cons: "My flight on Friday was delayed by 4 hours and my flight on Sunday was delayed by 2.5 hours - making what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend bookended by terrible and exhausting wait times at the airport - expensive too because I ended up having to eat at the airport for both. Didn't arrive at my final destination on Friday till 2am. The seats on the plane, I found, to be super uncomfortable."

At ORD the lines were short/fast but the agent was a little rude, it was my first time flying Frontier so I just had a few questions and she made me feel like I was annoying her or wasting her time. At the gate the boarding process was as expected, except I think the gate agent could have done a bit better crowd control, it was really cumbersome to get across the multitudes of people with unassigned seats or later zones that were clogging up the entrance just standing there. The flight was smooth. Upon arrival at PHX luggage took upwards of 30+ minutes to arrive and some passengers had to wait much longer. My luggage arrived damaged. I filed a report at the Frontier desk but their response was to ask me to leave my broken luggage there, take my items in clear trash bag and wait for a voucher. How am I supposed to take my items to a hotel for business meetings in a trash bag? That's not an acceptable solution to a problem I did not create, baggage handlers did it. When I got to the hotel I realized that the items I had on the front pocket of my luggage were tampered with and one item was missing. I was told I could go spend the money to replace my luggage and bring them back the receipt, and then leave them the broken luggage cause and I quote "you can't have it all". What does that even mean? I can't have MY luggage? That I brought in perfect condition and the baggage handler broke? Come on. They did not explain if they would offer a refund immediately upon receiving my receipt, it was all very rushed and vague and I was going to miss my transport so I had to leave. They did not give me a claim number or a number to call back at. Nothing. I wasn't even being rude or loud or annoyed like some customers get when these things arise. I understood perfectly that it was an accident and these things happen, but I still deserved a proper response and decent treatment, since I just paid $45 for a checked bag only to have it be broken. On the day of my departure from PHX I arrived at the airport on time, 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier from my departure. I stood in line at Frontier for an entire hour to check in my luggage even though I had checked in online and already paid my fee. I asked if there was a place for people who already were checked in and a rude airport staff member told me to just "get back in line". After waiting in line for that long suddenly the desk agent yells to all the passangers from a flight to Denver to move up to the front of the line, so about 100 or more people move ahead of me despite the vast majority of them having arrived late. I understand their flight was leaving earlier but what about our flight? How is it reasonable or fair to reward people for being late and make people who have been dutifully and calmly waiting in line FOR AN HOUR standing with heavy bags wait even longer? The whole thing was just terrible!"

They claim that it was because of the ticket I purchased through a third party, and I told them that they should not advertise any tickets where you intend to charge people for their carry-on luggage. To make things worse, it appears that Frontier does not participate with the TSA pre-check program, and even though I had my global entry card with me, the officer at TSA pre-check would not allow me through this line because of the airline I was flying with - Never again!!! I suspect that on my way back I'll be forced to pay another $45 for my carry-on luggage, which I despise."

I can afford the extra for Delta and I should have stayed there. Seats were really uncomfortable and though we paid extra for the better seats, leg room was at a minimum. Again, about what I expected. All told, for 1 bag and a little more legroom, we paid an extra $115 per tick. Not really any savings over a more full-service airline."

Cons: "I booked one ticket from Denver to Baltimore, but found out I would be charged twice ($80 in total) for checking one bag. While i did have a layover in Chicago and this indeed was only one trip, Spirit denied this and said that since I had a layover, they were two separate tickets. This is unacceptable. My ticket said Chicago was a layover. It is absurd to be charged twice for baggage on one single trip. Last time I fly Spirit!!!"

Could not put my laptop on it seats not at all comfortable. So, overall the cost of the ticket saved me $40 over American, and i got no frills. There was no value here."

Cons: "Literally everything else. I could not have had a worse experience. Spirit's online system changed unexplainedly changed our address without our knowledge, therefore preventing me from checking my fiance in online. I spent too much time attempting to talk to them about it over the phone, and ended up being late to leave for the airport. On the drive there, I was able to get ahold of a customer service representative on the phone who purchased my fiance's luggage, seat, and checked her in over the phone. We arrived 43 minutes before the flight, and were turned away while attempting to check in her bag, being told that she was not checked in for the flight, and it was now past the mandatory 45 minutes before flight time and would not allow her aboard. I spent the next 2 hours arguing with customer service, where they accused me of lying and said that they don't even offer to check in people over the phone. I could go on, but it was absolutely awful, and we weren't able to be placed on a flight until the next morning."

Pros: "Going with Spirit Airlines was no problem. Great pricing, long lines to check in bag but it was organized with helpful staff and moved quickly. Boarding was smooth, take off was on time, efficient & pleasant flight attendants. No problems getting my checked bag from the carousel. Overall excellent experience with Spirit. This was my second time flying with Spirit & 1st experience was similar. My return trip will be with Spirit again. I recommend Spirit!"

I will never fly with Spirit again."

I'm short and wasn't very comfortable. I have no idea how tall people handle it. I will not be choosing Spirit Airlines in the future."
Cons: "On my departing flight I was delayed right off the bat for 2 hours. Then after that we sat on the tarmac for 2 hours and then deboarded and delayed another 3 hours. The staff was very unhelpful and I paid $28 for a seat upgrade which was not even fulfilled because I requested an aisle seat and got a window seat. The staff was also very rude and told me this why hispanic people have a sterotype. On my arriving flight I was double charged for my carrying on and backpack. I was told that I would need to pay for both but when I went into the gate that was not the case and I saw that my backpack met specifications to not be charged. When I paid the fee the attendant took money out from her brasserie to give me change and then pocketed the cash and when I asked for a reciet she said the computer system was down and on my boarding ticket it did not have that I paid for a carry on so I was given a hard time at the gate. When I explained what happened they said okay as if this shady stuff is acceptable. I was then delayed in the air for 2 hours and rerouted to detroit to get gas. We were told to hold tight and not allowed to use the restroom for an hour to then be told we had to deboard for an addtional 2 hours. This is horrible and I will continue to speak with someone until I get a refund."

But I accompanied with my 8 years old kids, then staff working at the gate wasn't friendly at all and she was on phone for personal stuff for 5 mins and while people were boarding, i was waiting without boarding passes. then they gave me exit seats with my kid. Then, later crew had to change seats for us. Always services are big problem with spirit airlines. so its competitive low price offsets with that bad services. so no more attractive."

Cons: "We boarded then sat on the plane for almost an hour because the passenger count was not correct and it took that long to get the correct paperwork. When we landed in Chicago there was a slight delay getting off the plane because of a gate tunnel issue. Overall well over an hour late."

Pros: "The service was poor. Flight attendant did not even bother to ask me if I wanted to purchase any drinks on the flight. Also flight attendant did not allow me to use to restroom on the aircraft. She shook her finger at me as I walked up and did a turn around sign to indicate that I needed to use the other restroom. I waited 30 minutes to use the other restroom while she stood there in front of the restroom in the front of the aircraft. I have never been restricted to use the restroom before on any airline. The flight also was not full and I asked if I could relocate my seat because the person next to me kept nugging into me and being really close to me and I felt really uncomfortable. Flight attendant told me that the seats are assigned and that they could not do anything about it even though there were plenty of empty seats. They said if I wanted to switch seats then I would have to pay a fee. I have never had an airline tell me that if there were a large amount of empty seats remaining."

Cons: "Seats and leg room were very cramped. For longer flights over 2 hrs, I would gladly pay more on another airline that offers more comfortable seating and in flight beverages. Although the ticket prices are lower and you may pay a lower overall cost, it feels like you are being nickeled and dimed for every aspect of the flight and the process of having to pay for everything gets a little annoying."

Cons: "Attendant over selling alcohol to a customer.This resulted him and his G friend causing lot of noise for over 40 minutes. It's true that Airline staff has to sell, but there needs to be a limit on selling drinks. Overall I would say way to go Spirit Airlines."

I clearly should have done a better job reading but I wish there was a little more of a heads up that this fee existed and was twice as much as it costs on any other airline to just check a bag. Now I know to add $100 to any Spirit flight. Given the nickel and diming on Spirit I do not plan to fly that airline again (United ends up being cheaper at the end of the day anyway!)."

Pros: "The motto of the airline is great and I would fully support this airline if they improved on a lot of things."
Cons: "My flight got cancelled because of "weather" and they could only reschedule for the next night. I lost two days of my precious vacation time and the airline didn't try even in the least bit to make it up to me. On top of that I discovered that they charge for carry-ons which made flying with them not as cheap as they advertise. In fact I would have saved quite a bit had I flown with another airline. The airplanes were dirty, crumbs and trash scattered everywhere, I was almost scared to sit down. The seats were so thin and close together that I could feel every movement of the person behind me and I couldn't even be grouchy because my knees also hit the seat in front of me and I am by no means large. The staff was unprofessional, loudly discussing their plans, I learned all about their favorite happy hours in which they were going to visit later. All in all, spirit is hands down the worst airline I have ever flown with."
