Going through Pearson was terrible, long slow lline ups moved from one end of the Terminal to the other. Several times. The staff directing traffic were the only good thing about the whole thing. Through all of this nightmare I used a cane. No one offered to help me in anyway with my luggage up on steps or conveyor belts, I found it odd anyway. To top this off we left an hour late. Not your fault medical emergency on board. Getting in to Tampa was not bad. But coming back was ridiculous. First our flight out was delayed by 3 hrs ripayingght off the bat. Not guud I had wheel trans booked to pick us up in Toronto for 1:45 which is run by TTC I pay a regular bus fare rate to go or be picked at any address in the GTA I had to cancel it via there web site but it was Friday night to late to book another ride they are closed at the time. Then we were backed up another two hours. So I had to take a cab back to Scarborough cost almost 90 dollars , my friend had to pay with her credit card. After all we just got back from holidays. I am paying her back for it. . Boy nobody would help me with any kisave assistance they kept passing the buck starting in Tampa back to here I had like 8 or o people pass me off not knowing what wheel trans was and didn't know who tao send me too. Disgusted it was the first holiday I have had in 25 years. I saved for 2 years to go south I don't know what else to say. I was going to get ahold of you anyway and ask to be compensated or a refund issued I am a disabled person on Canada Pension Disability. Obviously why I flew economy.
We wanted to stay an additional 2 days but it would of cost us $200+ each. We almost missed our flight home after a 5-hour delay as there was nobody at the gate to tell us where to go. Luckily my friend flying with me contacted someone using the courtesy phone. We had to run for our flight and she has a cane. The stewardesses didn't help us with putting our baggage overhead until minutes had passed. We had to pay $84 to get home by taxi which wasn't in our budget as Wheel Trans could not be rebooked accommodating the 5 hour delay. No food, not even peanuts were offered. The seating room was terrible on the way to Florida. I felt claustrophobic. They gave us a $10 food voucher-Woopie! I purchased a movie but could not get into the one section of movies. Like I said, Not impressed.
The crew, as always, was great. Very helpful, friendly, etc. Everything on the flight was good - had no problems.
We flew out of Tampa to Toronto. Our flight was at 10:40 a.m. and we arrived at the airport at 8:05 a.m. Glad we arrived extra early because it took us 2 hours to get to our gate. Why? When we got to the Air Canada check-in area, we discovered a line that seemed to be about a 100 yards long. Air Canada had 3 flights scheduled around 10:00 that day. I heard from another passenger that the check-in desk was not opened until 8:00 and many customers were already waiting. Many passengers were older and did not check-in online. All we had to do was to drop our bags but we were still required to wait in the long line with those that had not checked in yet. It took almost an hour to get our bags dropped and it would have been even slower if we had not checked in online the night before (we were allowed to move to the bag drop line at the very end). The only positive about that experience is that at least Air Canada had a representative "directing traffic" to get passengers through the line as quickly as possible.
Stewardess sent me down the wrong isle, after their was an announcement for using the appropriate isle for the assigned seat.
Long walk in Terminal 1 to get from the gate to customs and boarder protection services.
I missed my proceeding flight after Air Canada 810 got delayed by 5 hours. Although I had travel insurance tied to air canada flight, neither air canada, nor the travel isurance company alliannzzz did anything
