First international flight where the meals were not to my taste.
Overall, my experience with EVA Air was mixed. The highlight was that the airline clearly tried to provide a premium dining experience by offering the Michelin-starred Kanpai Classic beef yakiniku rice. However, in the limited space of an economy-class cabin, this meal felt overly oily and not very practical to eat. The sauce and grease made it easy to get one’s hands or tray table dirty, and after the meal many passengers may need to go to the lavatory simply to wash their hands. While the food itself may be high quality, the presentation and practicality did not seem well suited to an in-flight environment. Another disappointing part was the paid Wi-Fi service. I paid for the internet package, but the service did not work properly. What made the experience more frustrating was that passengers then had to spend additional time requesting a refund, and the refund process itself was slow and inconvenient. For an international airline, I think a malfunctioning paid service should be handled more efficiently. As for the seat, I feel EVA Air’s economy-class seats may be more comfortable for Asian passengers or people with smaller body frames, but they may not be as comfortable for taller or larger Western passengers on long-haul flights. The overall cabin environment also varied during the flight. Some passengers were not very mindful of noise, cleanliness, or shared cabin etiquette, which affected the comfort of the journey. I believe clearer reminders from the airline regarding cabin manners and hygiene could help improve the overall passenger experience. In short, EVA Air has some strong points, especially in trying to offer a premium Taiwanese-style service, but there are also areas that need improvement: more practical in-flight meals, a more reliable paid Wi-Fi system, faster refund handling, and better cabin management during long-haul flights.

Crew was good. Sometimes food was eh. The spaghetti is gross for me. First time i got food, they didn’t provide utensils so i ate with my hands. I was hungry. They gave it to me 20 mins later when a crew member came by. I would fly with them again. Nobody is perfect
What could have been better, was we were delayed from takeoff for two hours. Initially we were informed that we were delayed for refueling. Then we taxied out on the tarmac, then just waited there for a long time, with no explanation of the delay. Were we just waiting on takeoff clearance or was there some other reason for the delay? The pilot, nor none of the crew informed us passengers. That was not good customer service. That needs to be improved, whenever a delay, inform the passengers for the reason.
This flight was long and I am so thankful I had a seat in the back of the plane. As I usually must get up and stretch every hour . The crew were probably the most friendly I have flown with. Thanks and I will book again with Eva air. Food was ok too.
The EVA air staff at Narita did a terrible job with signage and communication. Despite getting to the airport hours before, they had me queue in line and did not communicate that passengers for Kaohsiung need to step out of line to go to a different line. If you put the flight number at the front of the line, people will think that’s their line. If your staff walk silently down the line with a sign of the flight number, how are we supposed to know you want us to follow unless you speak or write that? I even asked the staff with this sign when we could check our bags and they assumed I was on the later flight to Taipei. Later, Wl only 30 minutes remaining I called for help, and the staff looked at me like I was in the wrong. I had to rush through security and customs and had no time to eat or buy a gift. I’m deeply disappointed in the way they handled it, and it caused unnecessary stress on my vacation.
Sub sandwhich for a snack through mid flight and giving a bottle water was a good idea
Overall great experience. All four members of my family were seated together without paying extra to reserve seats. Everything was on time. Food was great and healthy. Media entertainment was good. Rock music could be added as a listening choice. No issue with baggages. Flight attendants were friendly and helpful. I would recommend EVA to friends and family.
t and I Flight crew did excellent job taking care of us and feeding us and staying professional. The boarding was delayed by an hour and then extra security measures were taken. No real explanation except for they said it was more of a maintenance dey
Not very much of anything, it probably was once of my least favore business class flights I have experience in all the times that I flew Boz class
I always enjoy flying with Japanese Airlines. The whole experience is always a pleasure. This flight was no exception. Thank you Kayak for making it so easy to decide.
Very smooth onboarding and offboarding. Food provided was cold and not the best.
Great. Better than average US carriers on overseas flights. Still room for improvement to rise up the average Asian and Middle East airlines.
Terrible experience. Staff would not even refill my tea once. While they refilled a fellow Japanese persons wine 7 times. They also lost my luggage. Horrible. Go elsewhere
I am trying to select a seat during booking but it respond that set assigment will be given during check in, and the seat assignment they give is in the middle seat and 2 row from the rest rooms, i am the person who pee a lot in this case I disturb so much the person beside me ,this trip is from Haneda to Texas, the trip from Texas to Cvg is a much better because its a smaller plane few passenger
I wouldn’t know, I tried to contact you days before to reschedule my flight back to Okinawa but you left me on hold for 2 hours. I tried calling multiple times and not once did you pick up. I had to spend 2000 dollars on a one way ticket back to Okinawa because I couldn’t get ahold of you guys to change my flight.
My luggage is missing and waiting to hear back about it. 3 of my 6 checked bags didn’t make it to DFW.
I wish I was able to flew with JAL all the way to DFW. After my JAL flight to Japan it was taken over by a flight with AA which is another experience, the plane was not as roomy like JAL. I was terrified to drop anything in the floor and not have the room to bend and pick it up. My wifi din not work at all, l just slept through majority of the flight. Although not a bad experience, I still wish that I flew JAL straight to DFW for the experience.
This portion of the trip from HCMC to Dallas was operated by American Airline. Unfortunately they are 2 steps below JAL in overall quality. Regardless, AAStill got me where I needed to go on time.
The flight was ok, i understand Houston-Dallas is a short distance. The plane is really small: no TV, no snacks, but other than that, all was good. We had a bid delay but luckily it did not affect my connection
My flight was delayed by 8 hours I arrived at airport 4hrs earlier but to see if they can reroute me to get my connecting flt to Hong Kong. They auto rebooked my flt. With no chance. Which I missed this entire reservation through kayak. My next flt they got me on was at 6 am. Misses an entire day of my trip abroad all my accommodations seat assignments were missed and missed adding my TSA precheck to my ticket as well as my vegan meal request so I didnt have meals on any of the flight....so not a comfortable experience. Please help me with accommodations upon my return.
Not good. Flight crew, was not friendly and just shoved stuff at us. Not the way I like to travel.
They kept us on the tarmac for 6 hours after already delaying our flight by 2 hours. No one had any answers. They sent our gate checked stroller to baggage claim instead of giving it back at the gate.
The WiFi didn’t work entire flight, couldn’t watch a movie. The recline button didn’t work

The food has never improved. It will never improve. But when I'm boarding a flight in priority boarding and I've spent 10 hours inside the security area of the airport and I get "randomly" selected for additional screening as I board the plane when the flight has already been delayed, and I work as a military contractor that has been issued visas direct from JMOD, I find it ridiculous. I would never recommend anyone to use AA on international flights. JAL is a better airline with older planes. The flight attendants on international hauls on American also have a chip on their shoulder and really dont deliver the same level of service code share partners do.
The flight attendants were excellent. They were Japanese obviously. They helped my wife navigate the controls for the seat. The lunch setup was wonderful. They were always walking up and down the aisles to be sure there were no problems.
AA was domestic flights. Nothing write about home. International flights were operated by JAL, just superb!
I could not take my trip because both of my cruises were cancelled. Kayak said it could not credit me for the flights. This is the last time I’ll use Kayak
Air Canada was delayed on the initial flight causing us to be put on another flight that took us to a different airport that did not have our connecting flight. We had to rebook the flight from Tokyo to Bangkok when we arrived after clearing customs. We spent and additional 8 hours because of this. Return flight was also delayed on departure but we were able to make or connecting flight in Tokyo. The business seats need improvement, the seats are a bit hard for such a long flight.
My entertainment system was not working for the entire trip. I notified the flight attendant but nothing was changed. I did not get chance to have any movie for entertainment for the entire 13 hrs trip.
Air Canada’s problems are not staff related by and large, no. The problem is tiny jets between the U.S. and Canada - yes, believe it or not they are still “international” (just ask our own Mango Maniac in power in the U.S.). The little aisle is compounded by a design flaw of a “dog leg” starting at seat 12. Woe be unto you if you sit here as passengers and attendants do not have sufficient room to not hit you in the face with backpacks. One thing I will say very positively about Air Canada is you still provide pillows and blankets on transcontinental flights to all, not just the elites. Your tiny improperly designed jets are also a problem flying city to city within Canada also. One can only say you remind us of a “Jet Blue” or “Spirit” experience. Also your luggage space is downright Byzantine! We will endeavor to avoid you and use other U.S. carriers, albeit charging more.
I had a nice flight with free wifi. So I was able to message family members and stream music during my flight, which made the trip go by fast. I also enjoyed flying on there Airbus A220. The plane looked very new and it also got up to speed fast down the runway and didn't need much runway to get airborne.
Wheelchair help is not reliable & chaotic. No food and minimal liquids for a flight at 6;25.
Everything was going well until we disembarked in Dallas. A bit of a wait getting acess to disembark from the plane. But the worst was getting luggage from the baggage claim area. All passengers waited over one hour before bags began to make way to claim area. To make matters worse no airline staff informed us of what the delay was. Many tried to call the air line customer service number to no avail. It was late at night with most the airport shut down. Bad way to end a trip.
The only problem I encountered was they changed the gate on me while I was sitting down but no one notified me, they had sent me an email and by coincidence I checked it and found out that they had changed my boarding terminal. No one notified me and when I had asked the lady she told me yes this is the spot while they had already changed to another gate/terminal
Easy boarding and very practical. The WiFi and outdated entertainment system could have been better.
I will always try to avoid Montreal Airport in the future.
There were no snacks in a 31/2 hours flight very strange
