NO WHERE in our email did it say there was this rule nor were we prompted or told to check-in prior to our flight online. There's no suncountry app for check-in that we could find (only a visa one). We booked through priceline.The flight hadn't even started boarding and we were not allowed to check-in. We were re-booked on a flight that left two hours later, but that flight was delayed 3 hours. The whole thing essentially took one full night of paid hotel and fun in Vegas away costing us over $200 just in hotel plus we spent an extra 5 hours in an airport that didn't have a bar open past 9pm."

Never got a clean up or a second drink. Had to interrupt the glam squad from their phones and make up bringing them our dirty glasses and trash asking for a second drink. Not impressed with this crew at all! Normally AA IS TOP KNOTCH. So it sets the standard that we’ve been accustomed to however complete and total letdown on this flight"

I called to find out why (was it something controllable like mechanical where they will get us a new plane and I can expect to leave at the new scheduled time, or is it something unpredictable like weather?) they could not tell me why, they told me to ask when I got to the airport. At the ticket counter at the airport they told me the crew at the gate would know. I said, if they know, why don't you know? With technology, this shouldn't be a problem. Nobody was at the gate, so I had to wonder for hours. The seat was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever flown in, and I fly fairly often. There was no headrest, the seat didn't recline at all, and there really wasn't any padding on the chair. It was the equivalent of sitting in a plastic folding chair with a high back."

We said no and she looked at our bags and said we were fine. When we got to the gate however, I was stopped and told that I needed to pay for my bag. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I explained that their employee at check-in told us we did not need to pay for a carry-on. They still forced me to pay AND tried to charge me the gate price of $60 which I refused to pay. If they were going to charge me for a carry-on, they should have made that clear at the ticket counter where I would have paid $45. They were incredibly rude about it and it seemed like a scam they had planned out to try and get $15 more out of passengers."

Pros: "It was SUPPOSED to be a round trip. I arrived at LAS an hour before departure, and tried a kiosk. It advised me that I needed to see an agent. I get in line. 19 minutes later, I am informed that even though the plane is still at the gate, I missed the 45 minute deadline,and cannot board. The agent will not help me to book another flight, but gives me a paper with an 800 # on it. I am told that all of the next days flights are sold out. I managed to get a $287 flight t 6 am the next day, on a different carrier. When I arrived at Ohare for the return leg, I was charged $40 , for my carryon. When I expressed my displeasure at the charge, I was told that Frontier was a low cost operation and should not be surprised that I would pay more for extras. My response to that is "When did customer service become an extra, for which I should be charged?" I have found your corporation to be an overpriced low service airline, a soulless company intent on squeezing every cent out of each transaction, while providing even less than the bare minimum to the sucker who buys a ticket."

I seriously feared for my life and could not believe when we actually landed in one piece."

Pros: "I like the fact that the management came up with an option to still fly the passengers to Las Vegas through another aircraft. I think the staff handled the situation very well. They maintained their professionalism despite the angry passengers. In fact, they were able to keep the mood lighter by smiling and throw small jokes once in a while. I want to commend these two employees who were there during this time. I wish I had their names but it was one male and one female. They were both black and both had long braided locks ☺ They were very accommodating."
Cons: "- I could see from my window seat that the ground crew had to unload ALL the luggages that were already on the plane and check them individually and manually, just to find the luggages of the unfortunate 41 passengers who cannot fly with us because of the limited seats of the new aircraft after the tail swap. It took them at least an hour and that obviously caused more delay for the plane to take off. - It was annoying to hear the foot steps of one of the crew members because whenever he walked by the aisle in the plane, he would literally stomp his feet which was very disturbing. The passengers were already exhausted and it was past midnighy, we all wanted to at least take a nap. - They should have at least offered free drinks like water or coffee inflight to compensate with the situation especially that it was already a red eye flight."

I guess maybe I'm just spoiled by the FAR SUPERIOR service of Southwest Airlines. Last time I let someone else book my flight on another airline!"

Hard plastic covered in vinyl with fancy stitching. Try sitting for 4 hours on that! Southwest is a much better choice."

When I went to check in it took 5 phone calls and 1 1/2 hours later. The reason for the call was the carry-on baggage charge which was astronomical and my question was is the $40 for round trip. Which it wasn't. Also, I was unaware of all the additional charges, seat, bottle water, soda etc. The biggest problem was no WI FI on board. I need to work while I was in the air for 4 hours. It took 5 phone calls because I couldn't understand the person trying to answrer my questions. I also couldn't check in because Frontier was not compatible with my IPad. Talk about getting frustrated. I had enough stress traveling for business. On the way back we were backing out to the runway heading to take off and the captain announced that he was turning around because a passage was vomiting due to overindulgence of alcohol. 45 minutes later finally backed out to take off. I barely made it to my bus. Thank god I can run fast. What a nightmare that didn't need to happen. It would have been way cheaper to fly out of Madison or Milwaukee. What really PMO was socking us traveler additional charge for so called peak time. WHO DO YOU THINK BAILED YOU OUT IN 2001? Your should be ashamed of yourselves."

Cons: "The hidden fees for carry on bags. I paid for my trip a month in advance then the day I'm to fly out, I'm charged $42 both ways for 1 bag. Should of let me know when I purchased my ticket that bag fees would be added. Also charging for water on the flight. Also didn't like first come first serve seating. Both times someone was already sitting in my seat."

Pros: "Exit row seats are huge"
Cons: "On the return leg a pilot did not show up. Had to deplete and wait till a 2pm flight. Got roach motel, 2 $7 meal vouchers and cab to and back"

Cons: "Did not find about hidden fees until we got multiple emails telling us we could pre pay to have our luggage stowed overhead and pre pay to select our seat, all things that are free on the other airlines. The other fares were slightly higher than Spiri, will NEVER chose Spirit again because of this. Also the flight felt like a commercial as they were constantly trying to sell you something because nothing is free on Spirit, including a soda!"

Cons: "U have to pay for every little thing and it's too high can't even get water. Cost too much for bags."

Pros: "The girl in Las Vegas helped us out while we were checking in by being very friendly I wish I could remember her name . When I comes to spirit that girl is who I can honestly say put a smile on our faces ."
Cons: "Well I thought I was going to save some money by taking spirit and not taking American Airlines, but from the time I checked in paid for luggage drinks and a snack . I told my girlfriend if we would of taken a different airline we would of saved about $150 we was charged for luggage we put under our seats not in the overhead. And paid for ginger ale cuz you ran out of cokes . The trip back was 100 % better the girl at the check in helped us out a lot and we didn't have to pay for our luggage cuz she said our bags can go under our seats . I didn't know why we paid for luggage going to Vegas but not coming back to Texas , the girl at the check in was very helpful very friendly and was so nice . We missed our flight coming back to Texas so we had to pay $440 for our flight back all I know and can remember is the girl at the check in cuz she said we didn't have to pay for our luggage :) I liked that . I now know about word of mouth from this experience because when we got back my friends asked me about our first time on spirit and I told them I was not too pleased . My name is Francis M ."

Cons: "I did not like the old plane. The seats were very hard, uncomfortable and close together. No space to even lean back much. By the time we reached our destination my entire back side and legs were hurting very badly. Along with a very stiff and painful neck. Just no Bueno! My husband and I both said the next time we had to fly anywhere for over 1-2 hours, we'll just sacrifice and pay the extra money to make sure we have a decent ride. It's definitely not worth the few dollars saved."

After about 2 hours we were able to get off the plane for five minutes and was mandated to get back on the plane and sat for an additional hour and a half. The only compensation riders received was a $50 credit and I think it should have been one free flight."

I could have gone on Delta or Southwest and paid the same amount of money as my ticket ended up being, since I had to pay for my bag fees and I would have had a more comfortable seat, free checked bags, and a free snack and drink. I will never fly Spirit again. Also, I think it's ridiculous that every other airline allows you to have your boarding pass scanned on your phone, and while I was on vacation, I had to find somewhere to print mine off for my trip back home. Thank goodness my hotel allowed me to print it off, or I would have had to pay the $10 more at the airport."

Cons: "There were HUNDREDS on the check in line when I arrived. Two flights had been cancelled and they sent all passengers to stand in line with those trying to make the flight. Little to NE direction for anyone. My flight took off almost 2 house late (1.5 hours sitting on the tarmac) waiting on paperwork!! And paying $40 for my one suitcase and $20 for my seat??? I'm done."
