Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "I requested an aisle due to being pregnant and once people started checking in I was called up and they had switched my seat. (It was red eye flight so I didn’t get to experience food/drink)"
Cons: "Seats are small (but I am pregnant)."
Cons: "Screens on the back of the seats. Long flight with no entertainment."
Pros: "The Service was AMAZING!!!. I will ALWAYS continue to Fly Alaskan Airlines."
Cons: "Crowded plane TBH lmao...But overall thal I can REALLY complain about."
Pros: "Nothing. Perhaps the airline model."
Cons: "Virtually everything. I will never use CE or most likely any Chinese airline ever again. Oh ya. Shanghai is a shithole."
Pros: "Loved the newer plane!"
Pros: "We liked that we got the best price possible with Alaska from Kayak. It was a great staff aboard the flight!"
Cons: "Our landing was very rough both in Seattle and Portland. Also, our boarding took forever and there were a lot of rude people not letting seniors or mothers with young children go first. Some people also had horrible colds and were coughing loudly and very grossly all through the flight."
Cons: "I was held on the tramsc and then missed my flight to Tucson. Am sitting hear for several hours waiting to get out of San Jose. You guys owe me!!!!!!!!!!!"
Pros: "Efficient boarding process, arrived early and bags at baggage claim quick! Great ride with lots of leg room in coach!"
Pros: "On time, good leg room, clean, pleasant crew"
Cons: "Must bring your own entertainment system or pay a screen to use on the flight."
Pros: "On line check in was very thorough. You received luggage tags at kiosk, and headed to bag drop. USB ports on planes!"
Cons: "Nothing!!"
Pros: "Good service this time, but plane was delayed which made connecting a major rush"
Pros: "Planes same more spacious. Crew excellent. Boarding quick and efficient"
Cons: "They did change my flight by several hours which was disappointing as I had a very short stay made shorter. No compensation not able to get me something better. Also resulted in a 5 hour layover in Seattle. Don't like paying for entertainment or food when I pay $1000 for flights. Feel cheated and buckled and dimed. Also did not like no free checked bags. Again I find all airlines that do this insulting. One bag should be included in our flight. How many people fly without any. That is one reason I often fly southwest."
Pros: "Actually I did not try any food"
Pros: "I liked the service from the associates overall."
Pros: "My beef dinner wasn't horrible. It was mediocre."
Cons: "Where do I start... even though I booked my flights in late July for this late August trip, and even spoke to a representative over the phone about my dog being my carry on item, they never mentioned to me that my first row seats in First Class didn't allow dogs. I had chosen my seats so my partner and I could obviously sit together, but on the day of my flight(s) is when they decided to change my preferred seat which I paid to reserve and moved me into another row in First Class but without sitting by my partner. We had to get our seats fixed before each flight which should have either been alerted to me in the first place or automatically found us seats together. Also, the First Class check in before TSA was useless, as we had to go through the Assistance line anyway and it added considerable time to my trip. Also, once we were at the gate, First Class didn't even board first, but had to wait after three different groups of people were allowed to board first (families with children, injured people, and veterans). While boarding them with some priority is not the issue it's that first class should go before these, then those special groups, THEN general boarding. What was the allure and advantage of First Class? Once I boarded my flight to Seattle and had finally been approached (in flight) by my stewardess about my meal and drink options, she easily asked others before me and listed their options but with me stared blankly and gave me a judgmental look when I ordered champagne and dinner, something almost every other person before me had said to her. After that, getting service was a joke. I had to press the call button to even get her to come by when I needed hot water for my asthma cough attack, and she never even returned to me so I could continue getting more hot water (that I needed). I felt she was doing this out of racism, as I was one of the only brown people in First Class and as I observed, the only one she singled out for this behavior. Also, the in flight tablet to watch movies had grainy, low resolution and all my films were edited for children (curse words were badly edited out) and I think this is unnecessary for anyone unless they are seated with children. I couldn't imagine paying for that tablet and watching such low quality videos on it at a further extension of that cost. Finally, I was accosted by this stewardess again as we were landing for my dog's carrier bag not being shoved even further under the seat in front of me (bear in mind, I never moved my dog or her bag at any time after I had initially placed her under her seat) and honestly I found that to be pretty insulting and humiliating when all I was doing was sitting there. First Class came with literally no perks other than alcohol and subpar food, which I would not pay that extravagant price for ever again. In fact, it left me with no intention at all to continue ever using services with Alaska airlines, even though I have to travel to Alaska often."
Pros: "Everything is good. Service Excellence all around!"
Cons: "More options in snacks."
Pros: "The plane was a good ride and comfortable seating, the staff was superb. I have recently flew Southwest, United, American, and Delta, Alaska was by far the best for non-first class travel."
Cons: "Gogo is a no go. The CEO of whomever supplies it should be made to sit in a seat, handed his cell phone, and told to get wifi. By the time he is ready to throw his cell phone out the window, he will fire ten programmers. Guys! It shouldn't be this damn much work. I asked other flyers, they said, "not using it, couldn't figure it out." Here's a blast, - quit charging, have it show up as a wifi hotspot on a cell phone, you push a button for connect, and voila- THAT IS HOW IT SHOULD WORK."
Pros: "Plane was clean and we landed safely."
Cons: "No seat assignment until after plane was boarding. Had no choice but to sit next to bathrooms. Plane was loud and uncomfortable."
Pros: "absolutely nothing"
Cons: "the crew was rude, i'm a gold mvp ,received ZERO acknowledgement and was told i would be getting nothing complimentary in any way becaise i "wasnt flying in a premium airplane" i dont know what the hell that means . i was on a over 3 hour flight ,was asked only once for any type of refreshment and would have to pay for it .long miserable flight with extremely poor service and attide of cabin crew."
Cons: "You gave my flight away and I was still there 20 min before my flight!"
Pros: "worst flight ever on Alaska air. paid full fare first class and treated like a freeloader. hate to see their reputation go downhill. but like most airlines now, they are not interested in the premium customer. Ill go back to Delta..."
Cons: "Most uncomfortable flight as far as seats were concerned. Literally felt like we were sardines. My second flight which was a much smaller plane was 10 times more comfortable."
Pros: "I had an unforeseen challenge as I prepped to move my life from AK to WI. Where upon this arose, I called, and after extensive efforts, she managed to resolve my departure problems. Without going into too much detail, I will attempt to fly with Alaska Airlines whenever I can."
Pros: "TMobile customers get an hour free WiFi"
Cons: "It took way too long to get a drink and the plane was hot as Satan's taint."
Pros: "Smoothest missed approach and go-around in localized early AM Portland ground fog (I am ATP pilot myself). Bravo - nearly no one else of the passengers even noticed!!"
Pros: "Crew was very attentive and kind. Happy even at 4 A.M.!"
Pros: "The crew and the flight was awesome. Came in 50 minutes early!!!-"
Cons: "The screaming children I was surrounded by. No fault of the airline tho... The food smelled a lot better than it tasted tho... All three bites..."
Pros: "i liked that the flight attendants were attentaive."
Cons: "the wifi which i paid for didnt work the entire tome and it was frustrating"
Pros: "Appears that seats and space are roomier. Super clean."
Pros: "The Price first of all, Total Package for Both Plane AND Hotel was $680."
Cons: "Nothing really that I can Think of, they were on Time."
Pros: "great flight and crew. efficient. plenty of leg room."
Cons: "seats are not conducive to low back support and then push the head too far forward. This is a common problem on all planes. wish they would redesign the seat shapes."
Pros: "Was in time. Leg space was good"
Pros: "I liked the friendliness of the crew and the ability to change seats when it was not a full plane."
Cons: "I'm not a fan of the 737, they are just not comfortable for me. But it is ok and the flight is not too long."
Pros: "Plenty of overhead room for my husbands guitar and my orchid."
Pros: "Very professional staff yet personable, helpful with questions r/t the flight. Great flight and great landing! I love that you do not have to pay for every single thing and that the weight limit on luggage is still at 50 lbs! Definitely will use this airline again!"
Pros: "Awesome services from the crew, very accommodating"
Cons: "It's all perfect"
Pros: "That I was finally able to go home."
Cons: "My first flight to Alaska was delayed and my flight leaving was cancelled completely. I called customer service and was told I would be given a refund for all the trouble my cancelled flight was causing making me late for work and my ride being unable to pick me up at the new landing time. I never received a refund and my rebooked flight got cancelled. I almost didn't get home on that flight either, but the customer service agent found me a seat. I never received a refund and I missed out on pay at work. I never want to fly Alaska again!"
Pros: "Free app , drinks and snack ."
Cons: "why didn't I get seats at the time of my reservation ? It was a hassle at times."
Pros: "Pleasant crew"
Pros: "Very pleasant staff. Delicious meal & great service. Bags arrived quickly. Altogether a very smooth flight."
Cons: "Felt pretty cramped. Passenger next to me kept bumping my feet."
Pros: "Direct flight"
Cons: "Over weight rude lady sat in the middle seat"
Pros: "Flight was okay, uneventful until landing"
Cons: "After landing at LAX we were made to sit on tarmac for 45 min because there was no gate available. This isn't rocket science folks, we were a scheduled flight coming into a major hub. Disappointed."
Pros: "I was completely satisfied with my trip per usual :)"
Pros: "I've always had a good experience with Alaska Air"
Cons: "The cabin was way too hot. A person shouldn't wake up sweaty"
Cons: "Baggage crew was so careless in loading bags onto plane. There were two bags and a car seat that were thrown and missed the conveyer belt and fell off the side."
Pros: "Alaska does everything it can right, and does offer elites media players. The flight was in about 40 minutes early."
Cons: "Alaska reduced the size of first."
Pros: "Crew was excellent. Flight was smooth and on time. Didn't purchase food or entertainment. Ate prior to the flight. Seats are very cramped in coach area. I'm not a big person but the guy beside me was and spilled over into my space. Uncomfortable! Upgraded to first class for the next leg of my trip."
Pros: "Super nice. Excellent customer service."
