Pros: Fast, efficient, comfortable.
Pros: Ease of travel
Pros: Easy to board, fast arrival
Cons: Better snacks
Cons: First class in an airplane this size is a bit limited (especially legroom) when in the first row.
Cons: Less people on the plane, the social distance is NOT followed inside the plane.
Pros: Love Alaska Airlines!
Pros: crew was great and the landing was like a paper airplane!!!
Pros: Organización y rapidez
Cons: Un cafe
Pros: Fast baggage pick up.
Cons: Could use more luggage space
Pros: Over all experience
Cons: Lounge at LAX
Pros: Nothing because there was no social distancing. I did not think that airlines were allowed to completely fill flights and I had no choice once I was boarded.
Cons: Please observe social distancing and DO NOT book completely full flights where seats can’t be left open. Irresponsible and stupid.
Cons: Good experience
Pros: The staff at both airports were amazing. (SNA/SFO) From ease of arrival at check in by Alaska Airlines staff to the airport security at SFO providing assistance to help me guide my ride to pick me up the best description of where I was to ease pick up. That’s not to mention the Alaska staff that allowed me to move my flight up to accommodate my schedule or the excellent staff at the gate and on the plane. Very nice experience!
Pros: First class was A+
Cons: Not a thing
Pros: The boarding/unboarding process was very efficient. I’ve never unboarded such a large plane so quickly.
Cons: The transfer between Alaska and ANA was a little more confusing than I’d like. We unboarded outside of the terminal and had to exit the terminal, come back through TSA and then find out gate.
Pros: The communication was impeccable. The flight was smooth and efficient. Everything about this experience, from booking it, to getting home was great.
Cons: Nothing about thus experience was bad. It was great from beginning to end.
Pros: Great crew, a lot of space in the aircraft
Cons: More entertainment
Cons: Premium charges to change seat First checked is $30
Pros: Nice crew
Cons: The crew did it’s best but there was 2 hours delay due to issues at San Francisco airport.
Pros: Not sure how we mistakenly booked premium economy but the extra legroom was nice.
Cons: Didn’t try the food. Entertainment required a pre downloaded app which we didn’t have.
Pros: After the purchase, Alaska is using Virgin planes, which are very nice - comfy, well appointed, and with the fun lighting.
Cons: This is the second time in 3 flights with Alaska that they’ve bumped my seat at boarding time from a nice aisle near the front to a window near the restrooms. I’d gladly have volunteered if asked, but they didn’t ask. This most recent flight, the beverage service was extremely slow - it took nearly an hour for them to get down to my relocated seat. By then, it was nearly time to land, so I barely had time to finish. I’ve noticed the cups are smaller now as well. I usually fly rather than drive for the holidays, I think I’m done with flying.
Pros: Excellent take off and landing.
Cons: They had ressigned seats and put me in the middle of a full row, in front of the emergency exit, so the seat would not recline. The head rest was made for a tall man, and its position made me lean forward until my neck hurt. The movie selections were good, but the earphone jack didn't work well enough to hear the dialog. They let me move to another seat and the earphones didn't work there either. After trying two different earphones they concluded the jack was bad. Also the seats were smaller and there was less leg room than the Alaska flight going out.
Pros: Liked the seats. Liked the service. The food on my previous flight HX60 was better.
Cons: Flight was delayed. Other than that, nothing to complain about. Like I said, ordinary flight.
Pros: The food order concept
Cons: No food, not even snacks, despite the long fligjt
Pros: It was excellent. They even waived the baggage fee!
Cons: We have been sitting in the plane after landing one hour ,because no gate available
Pros: Everything was great! This was my first time flying Alaska Air and I could not have had a better trip! Everything ran according to schedule, I was comfortable during the flight, slept the entire time, staff was great!
Cons: The woman making announcements did not specifically announce the duration of the flight as we were departing. I was able to figure it out on the map option on the screen, but I would've liked to hear it verbally. Only suggestion I would have is an announcement on the plane for which baggage claim belt our luggage would come out of. I may not have heard it though, if there was an announcement. It was not difficult at all to figure out once I was in the baggage claim area, however if this was known while we were still on the flight, I prefer to know this info!
Pros: Nice movies Comfortable seats
Cons: Noisy air con Seat not reclining Headphone jack not working No storage space
Pros: The crew did their best to make a bad situation better. Alaska Air a very decent company and usually have good flights with them. They offered me a free cocktail after a family with 3 little kids took my seat to sit together. A cocktail at 9:55am doesn’t really appeal to me however. It was a 2 ½ hour flight so I could grin and bear the discomforts. Everything else went great ...baggage arrived an was in the carousel quickly although the $25 baggage fee slap is annoying on an already over priced flight. I still love Alaska
Cons: I am 6’2" and a difficult time with comfort in standard airline seats. Today’s flight with the family taking my assigned seat put me in the last row against the rear wall. Super scrunched for me then to have a very large couple flying non-revenue squash in next to me made it just that much more uncomfortable. I wish if you have kids you would go the extra mile and pre-pick seats like he rest of us .... not a hater people just like courtesy is all.
Cons: There was no way to change journey date, excepting by additionally paying almost twice the fare amount as change fee plus difference in fares between travel dates. So was forced to miss the flight and forfeit fare amount.
Pros: It was quick and easy.
Pros: Plenty of room, nice crew
Cons: Wasn’t given the opportunity to choose my seat and was put in last row.
Cons: 1st, promised to email a $100 travel voucher for an inconvenience in the reservation, but never did! 2nd, signage misguided us to take train to wrong terminal in airport, causing us to miss flight! 3rd, successfully changed first leg of our flight, but gave us a connection that was impossible to make! (20 minutes, but they "forgot" we had to go through customs!) 4th, double-charged us for our bags for second leg of flight! 5th, said they could do nothing about the impossible second leg of flight, claiming that their partner airline (Virgin) should resolve it, and Virgin then said the same thing and sent us back to Alaska! 6th, I discovered that Alaska reps wrote lies in the notes in the computer to try and cover their back! 7th, meanwhile, between the two companies, they wasted so much time that the next flight passed and we had to wait until next day for a flight! 8th, were not willing to cover a hotel, leaving us to sleep in airport! We are currently in airport still waiting for flight, so this sad testimony to Alaska Air may still get even worse! We'll see.
Pros: Thank you for recycling in the cabin!
Pros: Quick, quiet, & cool. Just the way I like it
Pros: Everything from the booking to the flight was fabulous. I couldn't be more pleased with how smoothly this flight went. I was traveling alone, so I was nervous about that until taking this flight. Every single staff member made sure I was feeling comfortable and very kind. In this same weekend, The plane is very roomy, and I took coach. I am 5 foot 9, so it's hard to find space for my legs. I did not have this problem at all, even with the person in front of me reclining their chair!! They have plugs for your charger for each individual seat, and the overhead lights don't blind you if your passenger buddy is using one and you're not. I love that!!! I will only use Alaska from here on out.
Cons: There was absolutely nothing wrong with this flight.
Pros: For such a short flight, it was an amazing trip to SFO. Friendly crew and service was top notch.
Pros: We had a flight attendant, by the name of Bob, on the flight from SLC to Sea-Tac. He was very animated and lively through the flight, for instance during the safety demonstration he would carry on conversations with those of us close to him seamlessly and effortlessly, plus make funny gestures -- such as a thumbs-up when the seat-belt was correctly fashioned -- during the presentation. His wife was the head attendant (?) who gave the instructions, and he had fun with that as well. These are two people who do their job well, enjoy what they do, and leave a positive experience in the hearts of those they serve. I think they would be a fantastic feature story in Alaska Airlines magazine in the future.
Cons: I've never liked the limited food choices and entertainment on flights from SLC to Spokane or Seattle. I know they are short flights, but a little more could be put in. I know Delta has on-flight entertainment from LAX to SLC, perhaps this should be done.
Pros: The coffee
Cons: It was delayed almost 2 hours
Pros: clean modern airplane, polite air crew, easy to plug-in and charge tablet while in use during flight.
Cons: food was overpriced meh.
Pros: Great flight!
Cons: I requested a bag of ice because I had intense sciatica pain. I think it was caused by the hard seats, The bag of ice melted, and because it did not have a double bag the water leaked causing me to get all wet. I requested a towel and got a pack of paper napkins which were not enough to dry anything at all. I was told by staff that there were not any real towels on board. I think this is a serious problem. All this made the trip unpleasant and I got off the airplane all wet. All my clothes and coat were very wet.' Marta
Cons: The lady on the kiosk this morning was annoyingly rude.
Cons: Had a very muggy gross smell in there.
Pros: Absolutely ridiculous ... sat on the runway longer than the flight.
Cons: Reason we sat on the runway longer than the flight is they were understaffed. Unacceptable.
Cons: Great trip!
Pros: Though departure was delayed, arrived at destination on time!
Cons: Entertainment options
Pros: Seats were good
Cons: Flight was delayed on both ends
Cons: Better snacks
Pros: Very friendly thank you!
Cons: The wifi login experience could be improved. I purchased wifi as a guest when I had an account and had to spend extra time chatting with an agent to get it resolved. They were very helpful but having the option to login to my account at the start would be ideal!
Pros: I would like to have ore of a grace period to check baggage.
Pros: Pilots. Flight attendants. Space. Left and arrived on time.
Pros: I honestly like the fact they load the plane from the back to front rows.
Cons: Additional snacks and drinks cannot be purchased. It would be nice to have more bottled water or additional selections.
Pros: Great crew...seat spacing gives great comfort. Love they have a comfort class option. So much better experience than American. Wish Delta had more direct flights out of Charlotte.
Cons: It was perfect!!
Pros: Crew was polite and very helpful.
Cons: It would have been great to reiterate to passengers to remain seated when deplaning, until the passenger in the row ahead were approximately 6 Ft away.
Pros: Clean, comfortable, empty middle seats. Good movie selection.
Cons: Snacks lacked variety and nutritional value.
Cons: Bad social distance
Pros: Thanks for choosing customer safety over profits. I specifically chose Delta because they continue to not sell the middle seats.
Pros: Very good
Pros: Felt safe and sanitary
Cons: Never flying with Delta again
Pros: Empty middle seat; disinfectant wipes. I know these measures were implemented because of COVID but I wouldn’t mind having these last past the pandemic!
Pros: Very attentive and engaging crew.
Cons: really nothing!
Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Food somewhat expensive..... boarding off the plane - people with no luggage should get off first then there should be some kind of control instead of everybody just getting in the aisles trying to get their luggage and holding everybody up
Pros: Great crew, nice plane, awesome entertainment
Cons: We weren't alerted there was a chance of delays. Over two hours late.
Cons: Was not offered a drink in first class prior to take off.
Cons: Better customer service. Your employees should be te-trained and reminded they are in a service industry where your clients have other options to fly.
Cons: I came from a long trip from France, the seat I was assigned was not reclinable, close to the restroom. I was totally exhausted from the previous flight, not able to sleep at all and when I tried to stretch my legs by sitting sidewards on the aisle a crew member keep bothering me to keep my legs out
Pros: Service by crew. I was flying economy but it was par to business class.
Pros: Entertainment on short flights is a nice surprise
Cons: Very very late.. I almost lost my replacement of the replacement of my connection. Had to run like hell. The luggage didn't make it. To summarize the day, woke up too early, got to my destination hours late and got the luggage in the middle of the night.
Pros: Nice new seats
Cons: Was too warm inside the plane. Boarding address was mobbed and not very well managed
Pros: The plane and flight was fine, as was the crew on board. The crew within the Salt Lake airport could have been better. Not sure if it was the gentlemans first time but overall he and the woman working the boarding were very slow and could have been more efficient. We boarded late (may be out of their control) but when we started boarding there was too much wasted time between calling up the military/people with longer boarding needs/wheelchairs etc. They waited until they were completely boarded and settled prior to calling the next group then spent time fiddling with the sign that splits the boarding lanes etc. Just appeared that there was no sense of efficiency. Polite people though.
Pros: Having three seats.
Cons: I had three seats to myself! After getting elbowed all the way from Amsterdam to Minneapolis, I was tired and I slept three good hours.
Pros: On time
Cons: Take a long time to taxi to the gate & getting off the plane.
Pros: Snacks & drinks & TV movies good
Cons: One hostess was very rude & slow forget our headphones Kept getting me to help her with getting attention of other hostesses also very bad at giving snacks and kept my husband and another man waiting for 10 mins while she gathered rubbish despite repeated requests which would have been easy as she was at the front of plane obviously unsuited for this position
Pros: Fast boarding and complimentary snacks.
Cons: I was seated next to a very large woman who came over the arm rest onto my seat.
Pros: Flight Crew were friendly and attentive. Boarding is well organized.
Cons: My itinerary was changed multiple times, most importantly impacting my arrival time into Victoria BC. This flight was changed twice, the first time I received an email notification telling me the new flight was an hour later. When I got my check-in email 24 hours before my trip was to begin I noticed the arrival time for my return flight had been changed again, this time arriving another hour later. I received no notice for this change. Other than a shuttle service, there are no late night public transit options from the Victoria airport into town--a 25 minute drive. I was left with 10 minutes between the late arrival of my flight to claim my bags, clear customs and try to make the last shuttle. I specifically purchased my ticket so I would have plenty of time to make this connection. I missed it and wound up having to take a $60 (not including tip) taxi to get into town. Changing my itinerary to arrive 2 hours later without notifying me is unacceptable. I've never had any pot-purchase itinerary changes happen to me on Alaska Airlines, which also has regular service between Seattle and Victoria. I'm inclined to make sure I always use them from now on.
Pros: Lisa, the flight attendant, went above and beyond to help solve a situation that occurred during the flight.
Cons: Force me to take a bad seat
Pros: being able too use our electronic devices in Wi-Fi mode the whole time. Last time I flew everything had to be shut off during take off and landing.
Pros: All was quiet. It was an early flight. Nice offer of more snack choices than other airlines.
Cons: Didn't understand why I had to wait until getting to the gate to have a seat assigned when I purchased tickets several months ago. Since I was in the last boarding group, Had to check in my bag since it was already full, had fragile stuff in there and hoping everything is ok. it is what it is. Not anyone's fault but disappointing to have to do when I didn't plan on checking in and going to pick up at the baggage claim. This is what i wanted to avoid in the first place. could have at least offered to let us pick them up as we deplaned and not baggage claim!
Pros: Quick and easy flight. Took about an hour and twenty minutes.
Pros: We'd paid extra for main cabin so hot to choose seats and got in flight entertainment.. Staff were friendly.
Cons: No free wifi.
Pros: Our plane had mechanical issue with a parking brake which they left us know about once we loaded the plane. Unfortunately it was going to take to long so they switched us to another plane.
Cons: Airlines in general need to enforce the carry on luggage rules. If it doesn't match the dimensions for the carry on specks then make the people Check it. Don't let it go. If I paid for a seat and I'm allowed two carry ons then there should be room for them. Don't ask people to check bags because of a full plane. The crew should have there own place to store their belongings, not where the passengers do and take their space. The life rafts need to be easy to get to but again should take up a spot a passenger has paid for their luggage to go. If that is the only space for these items then don't allow passengers to bring two items if in those seats or on the whole plane. It's really disappointing when your told you may have to check your bag because there's not enough room.
Pros: They arrived on schedule.
Cons: Seated in the rear middle seat. I had no options to select a seat when I checked in or made my reservation that wasn't an extra charge. I'mover 6' tall and middle seats are painful, especially cross country. Airlines need to be a little more attentive to their customers' needs. If a passenger is taller than average, and the flight is more than 60 minutes, provide comfortable seating at no extra charge. If a customer has a short layover, which their system knows about since it is the sourve of the flight plans, put the customer toward the front of the aircraft since these flights are habitually late and customers end up having to sprint through airports to try to make connections.
Pros: I paid only $100 more round trip to DTW from SLC then I would have with other carriers, minus the hassle of connecting flights and paying fees that they don't tell you about up front (like $25 for a carry-on bag, oh and a another $12 per leg for a window seat). My experience, like my previous Delta experiences was absolutely enjoyable. From the quick boarding, super friendly gate agents, and flight crew, to the free on board entertainment, Delta has won me over once again. Oh and did I mention how great it is to board a flight, relax and watch a good movie, take a small nap, and deplane at your destination! Awesome!!
Pros: Bast trips!!
Cons: Evriting is good!!!
Cons: Enforcement of federal rules requiring children two and over too wear a mask. Flight attendant did not believe it was her responsibility to ask the age of the child sitting next to us, sneezing and coughing.
Pros: The crew.was so rude, even from the check in process
Cons: Sick joke of an airline they treat you like cattle even in first class if you can even call it that. It’s more like premium economy and the staff is not friendly they act like they are put out when you ask for anything.
Pros: Crew and service was solid given the covid restrictions.
Pros: Literally nothing
Cons: After sitting on the plane for over an hour we had to change planes. Notice that our aircraft isn’t working properly before you board it would be helpful so we aren’t 2 hours behind schedule having to sit on a hot airplane during covid
Pros: Flight attendant was very fun. It was her birthday and made the day fun for everyone.
Cons: Seats are always too close together - left to right and front to back. A sad reality that only improves for the well-to-do.
Cons: Traveling in a 737-800, there is no displays at your seat. One must BYOD. Wifi was spotty.
Pros: Again the flight did not happen since my flight from Munich to Dallas was cancelled without informing me why and so on.
Pros: Crew was attentive and accommodating for seats due to virus.
Cons: Delays could've been prevented or let passengers know, instead of being on the plane for 2 hours without moving.
Cons: For the longer leg of my trip, there was no entertainment. No screens at all! No food besides some dry pretzels on a 5 hour flight and the crew was borderline surly. They were running into people with the drink cart, bumping any edge of arm or leg that was in the aisle, not smiling, not pleasant at all.
Pros: I made it safely
Cons: Delayed twice, had to circle at destination, gate wasn’t ready.
Cons: After landing, we had to sit and wait (at 3:00am) for a gate to become available. We knew precisely what time we would land, at least 45 minutes in advance, but it seemed like a surprise that we needed a gate to park in. Waiting an additional 20 minutes (for something avoidable) is hard after 2 hours of delay, and landing so late at night. Thanks
Pros: The crew serving the plane didn't look like they wanted to be there. Somewhat abrasive. The entertainment was poor and not very easy to access through your mobile, Iphone and Ipad. If you want to provide a better customer experience, equip all your planes with seats video screens. Passengers on a 4 to 5 hours flight don't want to have to figure out what do to watch a movie or TV. I don't fly American that often, but wanted to give it a try to see the difference between you and the other airlines. I have to say that on the return segment (ORD to SFO), I was not that impressed.
Cons: See above
Pros: Slight delay in leaving
Cons: Baggage claim took 30-45 minutes after deplaning
Cons: Seats not so comfortable.
Cons: 4 hour delay for no reason! I’m never flying with American Airlines again!
Cons: On Time. Delayed advice 3 times.
Pros: Nice crew. Very smooth flight.
Pros: The flight and cabin crews handled an equipment problem and consequent delay, and information about it, very well.
Pros: The crew was very nice
Cons: It was too warm and a bit uncomfortable
Cons: if the crew/flight wasn’t filled with racist tendencies that forced a black man and his partner to take a new flight because his “tone” wasn’t to their liking when he responded to accidentally being the wrong seat, costing us 90 minutes at least of delays because they deplaned us all when all.
Pros: Everyone was nice and it went smoothly!
Pros: The staff was very nice and passed around several times offering drinks and food
Cons: The food selections is literally three things. I ordered the cheese tray and the grapes were rotten. I mean, it is already pricey and on top of that bad quality
Pros: The flight crew was quite lovely.
Cons: People all over the coach section were complaining about not being able to sit together. Families with babies, couples, even ours (though the kids are old enough for me not to be truly worried as some were). Somehow reservations seems to have messed up an entire flight. We gave up trying to fix it for fear they would make it worse. Then the woman at the gate tried to get folks to volunteer to give up their seats on an overbooked flight. But she was screaming at us. Unbelievably unpleasant to be yelled at over and over again and told we could lose our seats. The poor weather likely caused flights to be rerouted into PHL so our flight out to SFO ended up 1/3 empty. FABULOUS. But the gate experience was horrible and the legroom, had it been a full flight, was miserable. I'm in search of an airline with a humane approach.
Cons: The flight was delayed. The food was not great. There is not a lot of space in these planes, and it was a long flight. There is no power supply.
Cons: Because they canceled my flight and i had to buy another ticket for 380$ and after that I realized my chair was available and i took a picture. It was really bad and i never choose again American Airlines.
Pros: This plane had more legroom than our international flight which was strange but at least it was better.
Cons: See prior response
Pros: PHX. This is the airport we flew out of. That’s it. I mean, come on. The airport has nothing to do with it. That’s how bad.
Cons: Plane got delayed because of a malfunction. We were on the ground for about 1 hour extra. And pretty much everything else about the flight sucked.
Cons: Flight crew very brusk. Econ seats VERY tight for space. Flight was switched from BA to AA. I found the BA Econ seats more comfortable.
Pros: Entertainment on the newer AA planes is great. Meals are sparse but tasty (chicken wrap)
Cons: Middle seat always stinks - flight attendants on AA always seem like they hate their jobs
Pros: The only positive thing to be said for the flight was that the seat was not uncomfortable.
Cons: Entertainment system did not work during entire flight; crew (stewards) lied to passengers on the ground that it would work after takeoff, only admitting after we were in the air that they had been told by the technicians it would not work at all. Crew did not respond to call lights when pressed (in First Class), nor did they know how to operate the power system.
Pros: Nice new seats.
Cons: The new seats are meant for "people shorter than 6 feet tall" as the flight attendant said to me. Is the airline industry deliberately discriminating against 6'6" people? 15% of the people you seat based on population are over 6'. I'm sick of paying more money for my long legs.
Pros: The boarding was done well
Cons: This was a 6 hour flight so American could at least have offered a better choice of in flight food purchases
Pros: Quiet flight
Cons: Very old plane with zero on board entertainment. Seats in front of exit row barely recline.
Pros: Plenty of leg room.
Cons: No arm room when someone the size of an NFL player sits next to you and falls asleep with their arms relaxing into your space. Then they sleep open-mouthed with bad breath. I paid extra for that?
Cons: Seats were quite uncomfortable, there was no entertainment options, there was no way to charge any electronic devices because the plane was so old, which meant I almost wasn't able to catch a ride home after the flight. For a cross-country flight, I would expect a better experience.
Pros: Flight was on time.
Cons: For a flight five hours or more I was disappointed that there was no complimentary food. It otherwise it was fine
Pros: The plane was comfortable and flight was smooth.
Cons: The shuttle to the plane wasn't bad, but would prefer not to have that element included.
Cons: Again American Airlines was LATE. It was boarding time and no agent was at the gate. 10 minutes past boarding time the screen shows that the flight is delayed 25 minutes... but wait, there is still no plane at the gate! After 45 minutes the plane arrived, again had to be "cleaned" and prepared for flight back to SF. Customers were told the flight was delayed because Air Traffic Control issues in SF, but there was no plane in sight... Again I felt we were being lied to. The plane was filthy with garbage everywhere still. I will never fly American Airlines by choice!
Cons: People still using mobiles as we were taking off. Crew seemed not too bothered.
Cons: Crew was not skilled or kind in dealing with others around me. Had the finesse of a frustrated 10 year old when asking other to check their bags.
Cons: My flight was delayed for 3 hours and they where rude about my flight being delayed
Pros: The crew was able to seat my husband and I together at the last minute as my husband has mobility issures
Cons: The crew seemed like they could care less about the passengers. Choice of either one snack bag of pretzels or a biscotti ~ very minimal. No headphones were offered for the movies.
Pros: How the pilot was insistent on the idea of taking off and flying, although we were informed of two system error messages, alledgedly the first for an issue with the AC, the other regarding the drain system. After our return to the gate for the second warning, I deplaned. Didn't feel safe after that!
Cons: Same as above.
Pros: I liked that the seats had chargers (even though I didn't need them) and that they offered entertainment.
Cons: Boarding was over 30 minutes late which ruined my SF plans. The crew was mot welcoming walking on or off the flight. They were also very rude when serving, one even gave me a super nasty look and mumbled something under her breathe because she ran into me. Just a terrible experience. They also didn't tell me baggage prices when I was there just swiped my card.
Pros: The crew was very helpful providing updates to our status. They moved us smoothly on and off the plane during the delay.
Cons: Sitting on the runway for what seemed like hours. The initial boarding was confusing with multiple levels of priority boarding.
Pros: The crew was fine
Cons: No open seats at all. Old cramped A319
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Cleanliness. There was a ton of garbage in business / frost class back pockets. Seats were dirty. Tray tables were dirty. Not the best entertainment options.
Pros: We like the boarding according to row n., which limits the contact with other people.
Cons: The plane was full, which means no physical distancing was possible.
Cons: United Airlines in our experience runs late putting a lot of pressure on any ongoing connections . Not clean . Staff not friendly . Only sometimes helpful.
Pros: the flight was scheduled 1h30
Cons: the seat comfort
Pros: The crew were so helpful and nice
Cons: Only if teleportation exists
Pros: The crew were friendly & efficient, the flights were on time, & the gate staff kept us well informed of any changes.
Pros: Very friendly crew that empathized with the plight of the passengers on board. The poor experiences throughout the journey could have been avoided if United changed it's policies and processes to become more customer focused.
Cons: So many small things add up to an overall poor experience on a flight, and it doesn't seem like United understands this. 1) WiFI was down. 2) Entertainment screens for several of the passengers on board were not working. The poor lady next to me had a broken screen, and combined with the broken WiFi, she literally just sat in her seat looking forward for several hours (after she finished the podcasts on her phone). 3) For a 5-6 hour flight, food (more than just snacks) were available for only about half the passengers on board. Apparently its an intentional policy of United to only have food available for a portion of the passengers. It wasn't even possible to purchase it if I wanted to because by the time the crew got to me, they were all out. 4) Baggage space under the seat varies wildly depending on your seat. For some reason, the aisle seat has the smallest space I have ever seen in my life (about the size of a shoe box). It was the first flight I have ever been on where I was literally not able to fit a small backpack underneath my seat.
Cons: 2 hr layover-got off plane and walked to new terminal-went through carry on bag and person security scans and checks. At the gate 30 mins before flight, boarding started. Directed to go to 1of3 stand up desks located in the open away from the gate and boarding lines. Desks were attended by one United employee each. All 3 of us;wife, husband, child passports, boarding passes were checked, and then we were told to get in line to board the plane. About one minute after getting in line, wife name was called over the boarding desk loud speaker to see the boarding desk attendant. At the boarding desk, the boarding desk attendant instructed wife to go back to one of the open area desks to have documents checked again. The attendant then instructed wife that her and her bag would need to go through a secondary search before wife would be alloyed to board the plane. Wife was then accompanied by open area desk attendant and walked down terminal 8 gates to private type room where personnel quickly checked contents of single carry on bag focusing on phone and computer. Wife then directed to go ahead and go back to gate to board plane. Wife quickly walked to gate and met husband and child to present passports and boarding passes. At this time the wife and child began being verbally rushed by a male united employee to hurry up down the pedway, and told the plane needed to leave so hurry up. Needless so say wife, husband and child were the few last guests to be seated. Well, when trying to get seated, all the overhead space had been taken in the area around the assigned seats. When husband briefly described the secondary search situation and thus the current predicament with no space in the overhead for carry on, the attendant asked husband to follow attendant to front of plane with your bag in order to stow there. After speaking with some other attendants, space was made available in an overhead compartment near wife, husband and child seat. ***Please be aware when flying united.... While waiting in the boarding line after multiple security checks where you and your carryon have been scanned and more than one document check has been done, you may to be asked to take a walk to go through yet another bag check, and then be rushed to board a plane that needs to leave, and then find no room for your carry on, and then be asked to put your carry on in a remote location and deal with getting to it and back to your seat for the next 11 hrs if you want to access the contents of your carry on.
Pros: Very pleasant attentive crew and ground staff. An aborted takeoff on tarmac meant a return to the departure gate and the plane taken to maintenance. The ground staff were superb in dealing with a full plane load of passengers many of whom had onward connections. This meant we had to stay overnight and fly first thing the next morning. Full marks to United for dealing with a potentially dangerous situation and then assisting everyone back in the terminal.
Pros: Good trip and on time
Pros: The inflight entertainment system was excellent.
Cons: I don't like the boarding process, where there are so many "special" boarding sections that zone 3 only comes up after the first 200+ passengers have boarded.
Cons: Fellow passengers; too many howling kids with clueless parents
Pros: The crew were very nice and polite.
Cons: No snack options. Only pretzels. Seat cushion very thin.
Cons: we received email for the take off schedule changed to one hour early. End up when we arrived LAX and it got delayed 1 hr for take off due to air traffic. So when we arrived at SF, originally we only have 50 mins to catch on the next route to Osaka. There was no gate # provided on our boarding pass and we have to look for the international terminal for boarding. Due to first delay in SF, the time was so tight and the international terminal was so far away, we had to run like HELL and we almost suffered from heart attack. We barely made it and there was no one to help ever. we had to figure out on our own. This was very bad experience and was not acceptable with such poor arrangement.
Cons: More comfortable seat. The seat on this airplane offers little back support.
Pros: The service and convenience was excellent. Straight forward and smooth transition throughout boarding and catching connecting flight
Cons: The piece of mind given to me by the staff with baggage and connecting to the other flight
Pros: overall very pleasant and relaxing food good able to sleep due to luckily extra space! very pleased
Pros: We had an aisle each! The staff were friendly too.
Cons: A slight delay
Cons: Our flight was delayed which caused us to miss our international connection. Flight attendants did not care, did not attempt to get us out faster, or put on a different flight. Asked for an announcement to be made on board or to be moved to seats closer to the front so we could get off the plane quicker, did not happen. Offboarded and sprinted across the airport for our international connection and was notified by gate attendents that the gate closed five minutes ago and that they could not let us on the plane. Meanwhile, the plane sat there for an additional 30 minutes while it fueled and waited for release from air traffic control. There were six travelers total stuck there in San Fran at that gate, all of us begging to be let on the plane to Beijing, the last one for over 24 hours. Zero compassion from staff at the the airline gate. They did not care about us and did not care about leaving their travelers stranded. Our total travel was Denver to Bangkok, 26 hours of travel including layovers in San Fran and Beijing. In San Fran (after missing the gate connection), United rerouted us through Haiwaii and the customer service agent that did this reroute did not finish the reroute to our final destination. We got to Haiwaii and were stranded again, at the United service desk for four hours having to once again provide documentation of our initial travel plans to Bangkok, having them build a new itinerary to our final destination. Overall, 20 additional travel hours have been added to our itinerary, almost double our initial travel time. We have had to call and cancel pre-arranged bookings in Thailand as we are now missing two full days off our trip. I am absolutely disappointed and heart broken as I write this still stuck in the Beijing airport waiting another six hours to connect to Bangkok. My fiancé and I were traveling to Thailand to get married and have received no compassion from anyone at this airline to try and get us there. I fly United for work quite frequently and have never experienced such horrendous service and lack of basic human compassion. I am flat out disgusted by United and will not be using them again, for personal travel or work related trips, because of this horrendous experience.
Pros: Crew did a great job. Air China had much better food service.
Cons: Seats two small, not enough room to stretch your legs. Bathroom to small. Designed for people less than 150lbs, and 5'-6" in height Not comfortable for people over 6' tall.
Pros: No complaints here! The Air New Zealand staff were amazing. They did their jobs really well! They made everyone comfortable during the trip.
Pros: At boarding there were delays which the boarding personnel updated as they had information. After boarding flight crew passed out water while we waited on the tarmac for hours while a maintenance issue was reviewed. Safety protocols that had a engine issue looked at on the ground prior to putting us in the air. Curry chicken was good.
Cons: Several issues that caused this flight to be late. Part of the issue was the plane was not available to be in the gate on time. The longest delay was on the tarmac for over 2 hours as an engine was analyzed. Does this suggest need for more regular maintenance? I don't know. Given the delays I think United could have done more in recognition of the delay to its customers on the flight such as not charging for some of the services they normally charge for like wifi access and such. As it was I was delayed on both legs of my trip by a minimum of an hour. United should do better.
Pros: The male flight attendant who was in the rear respectfully listened to me.
Cons: The United passenger agent that talked to me at the gate when the other one, who was scanning the boarding passes put me on the side because I could not board with two items was disrespectful. She used a discriminating tone and embarrassed me in front of other people. She made it sound as if it were a shame to purchase a cheap ticket. She was arguing with another passenger before helping me over the same subject, so when I tried to explain that the smallest backpack was almost empty and fit inside the other, she was impatient, upset ignored me and was already demanding my credit card with the bag tag in her hand rushing me. I paid extra $60.00 after I had paid $25,00 for the first bag when I could have put the flexible kipling inside the Jansport if she had listened to me. The flight delayed after I was unable to defend myself and paid an unfair feer.
Pros: Luggage bag broken by baggage handlers
Cons: Luggage bag broken by baggage handlers
Pros: Customer service was very professional even after dealing with MANY delayed customers.
Cons: First leg delayed as was the flight getting there. Had to rebook flying all night on 3 flights with 2 children. My daughter saw that second original flight out of San Francisco was also delayed. We went back to customer service and got back on our original flight arriving home later than planned but if we hadn't of noticed it we would gave been 4 hours later getting in and transferring from 3 planes. Blamed on sf construnction...why would you 's hedule a flight into an area that is under construction. Huge delays of all planes really made me wonder what the heck united is doing. No confidence!
Pros: More important than the trip home last Wednesday was the reason for the trip. We attended my granddaughter's wedding. Everything else was secondary. Even if the trip had been in a one wheeled barrow, it would have been good. To get to what you want which is the mechanics of the trip. The two people who attended to the aisle chair, most teams were competent. Some hadn't done many passengers so they were fumbling with the straps. I've learned that I almost alway have to ask for one at the gate where they check or issue, (what's it called, loading permits, some kind of pass, not landing pass. loading pass. I can't remember and my wife has gone to bed.) Well, they have to come up with an aisle chair because I've only got 1 1/2 legs. I always make it to the seat on the plane, but the competency of the various crews is uneen. Sorry my answer is so nonspecific but I don't remember one airline from another. Great people all, get the job done.
Cons: Not much I don't like. They get us there That is the main thing. Sometimes when the plane stops after it has pulled away from the Jet Way, the pilot gives an explanation that I find unfulfilling, not enough details. I suppose if they explained more, other fliers would find the explanation too verbose. I can live with it. Again this is about all flights and airlines. Nothing stands out, such as, " this awful thing happened when we left San Francisco."
Pros: I'm 73. Delayed an hour from SLC for no apparent reason meant racing like crazy with 5 mins to make my connection. I'm in good shape for my age but I'm 73! I was the last one to board and barely made it. Very stressful
Cons: Crew was friendly but let's face it, I didn't expect much from united and their recent antics publicly
Cons: 1. Comfort: the headrest on these seats is so uncomfortable! It just props your head forward and causes a lot of neck strain. For most short haul flights, this is not a big deal, but it really makes for an unpleasant journey on the cross-country flights. Also, the four-seat middle section is so poorly designed. There is no way to store personal items under seats without invading the space of your neighbor because the metal frame supporting the row of seats doesn't match with the seats themselves. 2. Entertainment: United could not support continuous streaming of movies/TV shows for every passenger. My movie paused and froze so frequently that I gave up on finishing it and then felt like I had wasted my time. The speed and reliability reminded me of trying to watch movies on a dialup connection. It would be so much better to just have the TV screens built into the seats. All in all, United got a bad batch of planes and should try to take this into consideration when working with Boeing/Airbus on the next order.
Pros: Flash for mac did not install
Cons: I felt like I was on my way to my death
Pros: Really friendly staff, communicative, helpful. Gave good directions. Plenty of leg room on flight.
Cons: Beyond the control of United, but LAX is a nightmare of an airport. Traffic control caused delays, airport staff more of a hindrance than helpful. Border control mumbling and barking orders at people like they're cattle. Not the best way to welcome tourists, but at least United Airlines crew made up for it with their smiles.
Pros: The flight was not full, so we had extra space.
Cons: First, UA flight attendant forgot to serve us (and few more sitting on the same area) lunch. By the time we asked why we are not served, we didn't have a choice, but to take whatever left. Second, we had about only 1 - 1 1/2 hours of in-flight entertainment available in Economy class out of 10 1/2 hour flight. Of course, entertainment was available for first, business and premier class. Why? Satellite problem supposedly. Third, ok. There was a entertainment on a big screen in the front. However, system on the armrest was not working. What's the point? My husband and I have been in long distance flight over 25 year with various airline companies, BUT THIS UNITED FLIGHT WAS ONE OF THE WORST FLIGHT EVER. When I booked this vacation, I chose Lufthansa on purpose as I know their quality of service and professionalism. I didn't notice that the return flight was a code share with UA. Only thing they can say was that they can provide us more mileage as a compensation if we write to UA on their website... We had a great vacation until were on this flight.
Pros: s This time my flight was on time so I was happy
Cons: I will never ever book a trip through Kayak again. You basically extorted money from me. Terrible experience. Customer service is terrible. The agent priceline is a terrible company, extremely unhelpful. I could not be more dissatisfied with your company.
Pros: The first plane had enough leg room
Cons: That the plane needed to be changed due to something being wrong with it. On our flight from cancun, Mexico to SFO we had to stop in Houston to change planes. One of the guys working at the security check point was very mean, raising his voice to people, grabbing their and also my stuff out of their hands, some of my stuff fell on the floor and got stuck in the rolling thingies. I hope I found all of it, not sure. I'm not sure how this happened, shouldn't planes be checked thoroughly before heading out!?!? This all is a big mess and very upsetting (literally just cried for 20 minutes). Sincerely, Sabrina Jungclaus S.email@example.com
Pros: Nice attendants.
Cons: Cancelled and rerouting of flights. Long waits in airports.
Pros: These days we can all admit flying is not what it used to be before 9/11. It's still professional and curtious, but the awareness and appreciation of passengers has dwindled. Stewards and stewardesses go through the motions and do just what they need to do not more. The pilots got the plane to its destination well within the time sometimes even a half an hour early. But sometimes being that early means sitting on the tarmac for 40 minutes which cut it close to missing my next flight. Flights used to offer blankets if passengers were cold. If the plane is not full they do allow passengers to move seats to be more comfortable. The complementary beverage is still always a nice touch but seconds aren't offered and cups are often taken before they're finished. It would be nice to see our country's airlines go back to a little more awareness and appreciation for one another, and work to improving their levels to above satisfactory. The flight was supposed to have entertainment viewable on personal devices but going through the app to select something was told this flight didn't have access. Overall it was satisfactory.
Cons: It was a little too cold on the plane. Blankets weren't offered. The food while it looked delicious needed to be warmed and the only option was coffee for warming it.
Cons: Baggage didn't make next flight
Cons: I cannot believe United Airlines flies an 11-hour international flight and does not provide each seat with an individual television for entertainment. I fly quite frequently and EVERY other international flight has individual televisions. It made the experience long and horrible. I am a minimalist and travel with as few items as possible. So even though United offered me the ability to use my own device, I don't have one! Also, the instructions to download the app before take off was not clear. During the entire flight, I kept getting the message "no internet connection; unable to connect to satellite." So I couldn't even use my phone. Very annoying and I will never fly United for international flights again.
Cons: Heavily delayed, kept getting later
Pros: Absolutely nothing! My flight was scheduled for takeoff at 8:15 pm on Wednesday.I boarded my flight on two different occasions only to be informed that there were mechanical issues.that first delayed & eventually cancelled my flight. I was kept waiting and inconvenienced until 5am, when I was finally offered an alternate 12noon flight later that day as well as a comped room at a nearby hotel. My time is very valuable & limited and because of this experience my itinerary was adversely affected. I will be hard pressed to ever fly United again. Michael Aponte- Very Disappointed!
Cons: Please read above comments
Cons: Lack of communication. Kept us belted down for s very long time. Lacked food service, lacked water service till the very end of the lock down. Then we were given the option to leave the plane as the doors were to be disarmed. But if we did the plane could get clearence and leave with no warning. I missed my connecting transportation, had to scrape my weekend plans, currently searching for a place to stay tonight while they locate my bag. I am cold and left my jacket in my bag. The United counter people are blaming it on the weather. I am sure everything was delayed by the laxadaysical baggage loader. The one person ( or lack of help loading the bags on the plane completely altered my travel plans. I requested assistance for hotel only to be told they are full when in fact several are vacant on the Internet. I should of videotaped the baggage loading in Canada, it would of went viral.
Pros: The attendants were very kind, polite and efficient
Cons: 1) Seats barely recline beyond 90 degrees. 2) person behind me had knees jamming against my seat the entire flight. 3) Food was unimpressive. was on British Airways a week before and it was great. 4) Paying for cocktails on a long haul flight is absurd. 5) Instructed to "download a ridiculous app" for entertainment. 6) I couldn't get WiFi in the airport to function!!! so was at a loss. I was traveling overseas for God's sake. IN a foreign country. 7) Outlet to plug my power sources for mobile devices into was not functioning.
Cons: I got a final boarding call 2 minutes before the time that my boarding pass said boarding g would begin. Despite that we didn't take off any earlier and landed just five minutes before schedule. We then waited on the tarmac for an hour. In the end I spent almost as much time sitting g in a grounded plane as I did flying. This after paying way too much for an economy ticket. Reminded me why I don't fly United
Cons: Hours and comfort was horrible
Cons: United airlines plane from SLC to SFO departed 45 minutes late due to maintenance issue. Then the connecting flight from SFO to Bakersfield left 10 minutes early, thus resulting in a small group missing the connection. Spent Father's Day in the airport for 10+ hours to get on the last flight out of SFO to Bakersfield. Customer service was unhelpful and rude until they found out that the issue was at the fault of united Airlines and not external circumstances.
Pros: Flight was delayed for 3 hours. They did provide free movies and extra snacks for some passengers.
Cons: See above.
Pros: Got me safely to my destination. Other passengers were friendly and helpful. Sf and Vic airports nice. flight attendants passably pleasant. No food that I was aware of. Entertainment at least there was a wifi option since there were no screens.
Cons: Check in agents all might as well have been robots, but with bad attitude. Even at the star alliance gold checkin desk the agent was clearly unhappy/furious (seem to be ongoing issues with the system/ machine frustrating him) and was consistently abrupt and cold though our interaction. He did help by lifting bags onto weigh and to press buttons to get the tickets issued, but I would have a much better experience of United if he has shown any sign of warmth or even smiled. I was struggling with a baby in a carrier, and several suitcase, and he didn't show any sign of humanity. The guy who labeled our bags was a bit nicer. The team overal though just barked instructions at the customers, never looked them in the eyes, and seemed to all hate their jobs. We got our boarding passes issues successfully, yes, but I felt on pins and needles like I had to be very careful not to offend anyone.... Which I don't think is what you want your passengers to feel at the start of a flight.
Pros: Great experience...checked luggage even arrived promptly.
Pros: Because I was unwilling to pay for seat selection, I was prepared to be separated from my husband and stuck in a middle seat. To my pleasant surprise, the agents put us in the same row by ourselves.
Cons: Better directional signage in both the SFO and Las Vegas airports (arrivals). Las Vegas is a huge airport, requiring a tram to get to the passenger pick-up, even with directions it was confusing and not obvious. In SFO, half the plane walked halfway down the concourse in the wrong direction because of lack of signage and it looks like the right way to go. Drop Kiwi as a third-party for domestic flights, their customer service is clueless, handling charges absurd and flight requirements unnecessary.
Pros: The aircraft was very clean.
Cons: The staff was incredibly annoying. They incessantly got on the PA and fussed about masks, when no one was violating the rules.
Cons: Crew could be better They should keep one seat distance between two customers They could serve basic packed drinks but there was nothing It’s not that they were not serving but they started charging
Cons: That my filght wouldnt have been 2hrs late
Pros: Clean, on time, reasonable
Cons: do not sell the middle seats
Pros: I thought everything and everyone were great!
Pros: Social distancing seating. Good job frontier. Great gate staff.
Pros: How affordable the tickets were. I was glad to find a cheap affordable flight to my destination.
Cons: I didn’t like the fact that you had to pay for your seat, after you have paid for your ticket. Why do you have to purchase two things? Next the price for taking a bag. It is too over priced to deliver your bags. A carry on is $40, a check in is $40. Why would you charge for a carry on? Other companies give you a free carry on and $25 for a check in. But not frontier you pay $40 just to bring a backpack. Then you have to pay for the drinks and snacks that they ask too much. $3 for a 50 cent snack, sounds great. The chairs are super uncomfortable, basically plastic seats with a sad excuse of a “cushion”. Looks nice all around, but nothing feels nice. Just everything feels so cheap. Then during my flight I try to get convinced to sign up for frontier credit card?! I have never been on a flight that they talk on the loud speaker for over 5 minutes about how great it is to sign up for their credit card. Don’t sell me stuff when I’m stuck. I can’t walk away I have to sit here and listen. All in all, I won’t be flying with this airline again. I will make sure to always go with someone else. Also make sure that no one I know, has this bad of an experience.
Pros: Flight wasn’t bad for what I paid for. One MUST definitely do his/her homework before flying to be prepared for all of the extra costs, etc... I was glad I did and was prepared with my own food, neck pillow, etc. I didn’t expect much in terms of creature comforts and therefore wasn’t disappointed. There isn’t much space in the cabin, so I was glad to have my 6-year old in between us 2 adults. Crew was pleasant r and professional. Ticket agent was helpful if a bit “assertive”. I probably won’t try to book them for long flights, but for short flights their fine
Cons: The tiny space and small seats!
Pros: The stewardess' were professional and friendly
Cons: The flight was delayed, the captain stuck in traffic, and they boarded the plane in the Florida heat without having the AC on. A real health hazard! At first they said that it had to be the captain who could turn it on. He wasn't even in the airport yet! It wasn't until I complained about concern for my child's safety that they called for someone to plug it in. The flight price seems like a bargain, but the individual charges for bags and seat assignments feel tricky and in the end doesn't make this a deal. The comfort on the plane is horrible. If I would have known the seats were unpadded, and the tray tables worthless I would never have booked this flight. My husband couldn't work on his computer as the tray table is miniscule. I have never flown this airline and will never again. There were multiple places in our row that had gum stuck on the floor. Gross. Never again Frontier.
Cons: They didn't know how to handle the unpleasant situation of having delay due to "the plane is having some problems and they will try to fix it asap before departure".
Pros: Crew was kind and helpful.
Cons: Please forward this to everyone you know! Do NOT EVER fly on Frontier Airlines!!!!!! They are a total joke and charge fees for EVERYTHING!!!!! Want to carry on a bag or push everything you need into a small backpack? Oh, need to take clothes? Well that's $40...per carry on, $60+ at the airport. Oh, you wanted to sit down? That will cost you...$10 per seat minimum, again more at the airport. Btw, those fees only cover one leg of the trip. You can save by leaving your luggage there. See how helpful we are? You think you are getting a good fare but the fees have made my trip almost three times the initial fare. United is testing similar "economy" fares. None of this information is presented upfront so it's a bait and switch scenario. Also, trying to reach a human being is nearly impossible. I feel sorry for the customer service reps, they should get hazard pay. They have to try to justify these ridiculous policies. Save yourself money and frustration and NEVER FLY FRONTIER AIRLINES!!!!!!!
Pros: The flights took off and landed on time. Boarding went pretty quickly.
Cons: The planes were old, made strange noises, no Wi-Fi, TV, or any amenities. Seemed way more cramped than other airlines. Expect to wait in an extremely long line to check in. The first flight, the plane made a very strange noise at the wing till we had been in the air for a long time. The connecting flight, the flight attendant told us that the plane had weight or balance issues, and we were all seated the way we needed to be for the plane to fly properly, so we could not change seats (a portion of the middle of the plane had empty seats). It was extremely uncomfortable, as the seats didn't recline at all, and I'm extremely short, but was cramped up against the seat in front of me. Only one arm rest that was about an inch & a half wide per seat. Also, I think they offered soda, but no snacks. They charge for all baggage, the carry on bag costs $45, while the checked bag is $40 ($80 for 2 checked bags one way), & they have specific "linear" dimensions for the size of the CHECKED bags, or they will charge something like $100 extra. Even though the actual flight was cheap, the price of baggage & feeling so cramped, & scared that the plane wasn't working properly, I wouldn't fly this airline again.
Pros: Not much...if you don't care about comfort or paying extra for everything that other airlines include or charge less for, this is the airline for you.
Cons: This was my first frontier flight and I plan to not take them again. My total flight cost came out to be the same as a normal flight on better airlines after all was said and done. The base price of the flight is cheaper than others, but just know that the add-ons is where they get you. Paying for every little thing is absolutely ridiculous (60$ for checked bag round trip, seating assignments that ranged from $15-$27 but the type of seat or leg room does not change between those prices, only water was available for free...all other sodas and juices cost money). Be prepared to pay for your carry on as well if it doesn't fit under your seat infront of you. On top of this, the seats are like sitting in plastic folding chairs. No cushioning on seat or back and they do not recline, which makes paying extra for a seat even more frustrating. No wifi or in flight entertainment on board either...this is the 21st century, if other 'budget' airlines can provide the minimum of wifi then frontier should as well, to make up for everything I stated above. The flight attendants were fine, nothing spectacular though. I've had friendlier attendants on other flights. A man a few rows behind me threw up as we were preparing to land as well. I know this has nothing to do with the flight, but it was the first time I've had something like that occur on a flight.
Pros: Ticket prices were initially really low.
Cons: Everything else about my experience with frontier. They nickle and some you at every corner. When you go to pick a seat that'll cost you $5-$25 per seat. Then you're looking at $35 per checked bag $40 PER CARRYON. The only time I have ever paid for a carryon bag. No complimentary water/beverages/snacks. The seats are hard plastic with very little padding and no reclining. The tray table is smaller than your average tablet. On our departing flight we sat on the tarmac for well over an hour with no explanation. Horrible customer service all around. I will never be flying frontier again.
Cons: First I bought a ticket from Spirit Airlines SFO to MCO for 309$, then I saw charges from frontier Airline, frontier airlines bought a ticket for me too for 287$, when I was just watching checking the price. Then I compared the tickets, both the time, but from Frontier Airlines was cheaper then I stayed with frontier and cancel the other reservation from Spirit Airlines the next day I see frontier airlines also cancelled that reservation and I had to rebook another ticket for 496$, the price went up, then I had to pay 187$ extra, IT WAS A FRAUD JOB FROM FRONTIER AIRLINES, I can prove everything above with the receipts and the dates on it, the worse experience I had
Pros: First off I've never flied on Frontier before. I've heard some pretty negative things about Frontier but booked a flight anyways because 1) it was 1/2 the cost of any other airline for the dates I wanted 2) it was a non stop from SFO to MCO so how bad could it be. It was absolutely horrible and enough to convince me to never book a flight on Frontier again. Here's some things that you should know if you've never flown Frontier before. They charge $25 for carry on bags and $30 for a checked bag as long as you purchase ahead of time. If you show up at the airport and pay there then the cost for a carry on is $50 and a checked bag is $60. You are allowed to bring a personal bag for free as long as it's not bigger than 18x14x8 and that's what I did. You can't choose a seat on Frontier unless you're willing to pay an additional $12-$42 so you essentially get whatever they give you. The plane was an A319 but the most stripped down version that an airline could probably purchase. The seats don't recline and it's basically a plastic seat lined with fabric. Extremely uncomfortable to say the least. The employees for Frontier across the board are very unprofessional and rude, at first I just thought it was an isolated incident but the more contact and interaction I had with Frontier's employees the quicker I realized that it's company wide the level of unprofessionalism exhibited. If you want a snack or anything to drink including water you better be ready to pay a premium, so it was a rough 5 hour flight. On the way out of SFO my plane was delayed over 3 hours. When I asked about the delay they said it was weather. The funny part was that only Frontier flights were delayed. Flying back my plane was supposed to depart at 6:55pm but we actually didn't depart until 11:15pm. Lesson learned and I know that for me I'll pay the extra money to fly with a carrier that I have experience with that better caters to my traveling needs.
Cons: The flight was delayed 5 hours, and we were offered a $100 voucher that would be emailed to us immediately after the flight takes off. I approached the desk to verify with an employee pre-boarding to ensure I will receive this voucher. She was annoyed with me from the start repeatedly saying it will be emailed after takeoff, which was NOT my question. My question was to verify that the email on file was correct. She had a very hard time getting this to her head. However, it has been over a week and I have yet to receive this voucher. Unless, I receive this voucher I will never recommend this airline.
Pros: Crew was pleasant
Cons: They charge for: a checked bag, a CARRY-ON bag, and your seat choice. There is no on-flight entertainment. The seats don't recline. The check-in counter has massive lines of people and is clearly understaffed. The gate is frequently empty and abandoned with zero people to answer your questions. Flights are late without good reason. Gate agents are understaffed, uninformed, and frazzled. Gate changes were poorly communicated and disorganized. Frontier management and leadership: you should be embarrassed.
Pros: Not much to like other than the cost of the ticket, they kept us unmoving on the runway for almost an hour, before taking off, boarding was at 2:50 pm, flight was supposed to be 3:25 pm, we didn't actually take off till 4:15, scheduled arrival was at 9 pm, and we arrived 9:20, and weren't able to deplane till 9:35, and ended up standing around baggage claim for over thirty mins waiting for our luggage, frontier might have some good ticket prices, but next time I'm willing to pay more, if it means better service
Cons: The price was good, before you realized the price was a lie and they scam you by charging $45 to carry on or $40 to check a bag! That meant the overhead space was unused and they were just charging more just to be inconvenient. The plane was stripped barebones. The crew were rude, did not smile, and gave me attitude for hitting my elbow with the drink cart. They charge for even getting a soft drink. Nothing about the experience said "we're serving you." It's worse flying a more expensive airline because the rediculous bag fees make it just as expensive and even things that should be free like pleasant staff were lacking.
Pros: I liked that the plane flew safely.
Cons: Both my flights were delayed which caused a lot of inconvenience given that this was a short trip and time was of the essence. The second time I kindly approached the counter to ask if a drink ticket or free wifi could be extended as a courtesy. The woman at the counter was snarky to me and made under her breath comments as I walked away. I understand now that frontier does not have wifi but she was very rude. I think this was the tipping point for me. I was trying to be ok with the unexpected charge for a carry on. I think letting passengers know in advance would serve in Frontier's best interest since this is an incredibly unusual charge and one I have never heard of from any other airline. The people at the counter who explained this to me as I checked in were also rude and snarky. I felt that Frontier provided absolutely nothing past a the actual flight. The seats dont recline, not even a centimeter, the tray tables are too small to place a drink and a sandwich on it and it seemed every Frontier flight in the airport was delayed. The icing on the cake is how nasty the customer service people were. I've experienced rudeness from other airlines before, but at least we landed on time and I didnt suffer back pain for 2 days afterwards from the incredibly cheap lawn chair style seats. Please improve your service. I know your whole bit is you wont provide any amenities so you can pass down the savings to the customer but it's not really a cheaper flight if when you get there you have to pay an extra $60-80 for a carry on?! Grow your company, provide outstanding service and pay your employees enough that they dont behave like they're at a dive bar. On the upside I do believe the pilot was sober.
Cons: I didnt like the fact that I couldn't talk to someone here in the United states for frontier. I didn't like that when I called customer service I was instructed to do the wrong thing and fill out the wrong form. And most of all I really hated that my flight was cancelled and my money put into a "shell credit" and when I went to re book the fight it cost 3 times the amount than I originally paid. Overall this has been a horrible experience and I will be tell everyone I know and even people I don't know via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and snap chat about my experience . Overall I feel your service and your service provider failed miserably.
Cons: You risk losing the flight unless you pay additional fees to select a seat in advance. If you do risk getting your seat assigned at the gate (no fee), you MUST be first to the gate to get your seat assignment because they far oversell the flight. Interestingly, they seem to intentionally punish people who avoid the seat assignment fees in this way. My evidence for this is when my husband and I were first in line at the gate for a seat assignment, the agent said that there were no seats together and gave us seats far apart. However, the girl behind us in line ended up sitting next to me, meaning that the agent purposefully seated my husband and I apart. In addition to all this, you must pay for SODA. And there is no entertainment, as the seats are thin plastic and squished as close together as possible. Consequently, the seats have laughably small tray tables. In summary, I will never fly Frontier again.
Cons: Our flight was oversold. They bumped 27 people do to a "downgrade" of the flight to a smaller plane. This meant they avoid full compensation do to FAA rules. Got bumped 24 hours because Frontier does not partner with other airlines. Despite never having been given a seat assignment they didn't standby tag my checked luggage and sent it ahead so I had to stay an extra night without a change of clothes, etc. Next day the flight was oversold again and they bumped another 25 people. Every flight this trip left and arrived late. The pilot explained that the baggage handlers were in a contract dispute with management as they were overworked and underpaid. As a result they were also short staffed. Saw many miss connecting flights as a result. I will never fly Frontier again.
Cons: 1. They charge for every little thing. Each checked bag is $25.00 and each carry on is $35.00. They also charge you for a seat. So once you purchase your ticket, you then have to pay an additional fee to seat down. 2. The staff is unprofessional. Not only does everyone look sloppy, but the staff is comprised of individuals that don't care at all about customers and have been poorly trained. The quality is very low. 3. I was hit and then verbally abused by a gentlemen on the plane, they laughed and did nothing!!!!! 4. They only allow 15 bags on their plane! After 15, they will move your bags to a different plane without telling you. What kind of nonsense is that?!
Pros: The crew was excellent.
Cons: This is definitely the bottom of the heap when it comes to airlines. They offer a competitive price on a flight, but once booked they nickel and dime you until the price is higher than a better airline. They charge for seat choice on the whole plane, snacks and drinks, carry on and checked luggage, and there is no entertainment. Plus the seats felt like cardboard, and didn't recline. Definitely not a good choice for a red eye, or any flight over an hour long. Actually, no matter how short your flight is, you'll probably be more comfortable taking the bus. Two big thumbs down.
Pros: Everything was awful
Cons: If I could give this rating a 0 stars, I would. I never plan on flying with this airline again. The attendant was extremely rude at the beginning when I tried to check in and I almost had to miss my flight because she was trying to charge me for a bag that was a carry on (charge me triple the amount) and that fit perfectly on the overhead, I even took a picture. She was extremely rude and unprofessional and put a hold in my account trying to get me to miss my flight. Luckily, the attendant at the boarding gate was already having a bad day due to the incompetence of his fellow coworkers and just let me go on. It was horrible. 0 stars, worst airline and flight ever
Cons: While I am thankful that we made it back to the airport after some mechanical issues. I called Frontier and ask them to get me on a different flight that night or first thing the next morning. They would not help me. They kept telling me I had to talk to the agents in the terminal. There were 200 other people standing in line waiting to be helped. They offered no alternative. Wouldn't even book me with another airline to get me to my destination. The best Frontier customer service on the phone would do was changed my flight to Saturday night. Which did not good since I was coming back from my trip on Sunday.
Cons: -flight got delayed for almost two hours without explanation and so missed connection - stayed another 1 and half hours at an airport nearby the destination because run out of gas -stand in the line from 10pm to 2:30am at the gate customer service desk to look for possible flight and found no seat available for the next 3 days - whole family stayed overnight at the airport due to missed connection but they didn't provide any voucher -have to spend another $1600 to change carrier but got only less than a quarter refund - they charge for carry on
Pros: The only thing I liked about the flight is that we reached our destination safely.
Cons: I didn't like how the airline didn't stick to their schedule. I understand that flights get delayed often.gut for a flight to get delayed 3 times is ridiculous. Our flight was supposed to leave at 5:20pm MTD and land on Atlanta before 11pm EST. We were notified about the delay about less than an hour before the flight. It was pushed to 5:50. Then 6:25. The actual flight didn't leave until almost 7:30 pm and landed in Atlanta passed 1am. This caused me south inconvenience. First, I had to take a half day off from work when I could've worked and got paid a full day. Next, the airline wasted hours of my time I can't get back. Time I could've spent with my family that I'm only seeing for a short period of time. By the time we got to the airport, which was way later than expected, the concourse trains were not operating anymore. What should've been a quick ride from concourse D to T turned out to be a 20+ minute walk to get out of the airport. Lastly, I missed my ride after getting of the airport. I was supposed to ride the train (Marta), but due to the delay, I missed the last ride. Not only was I inconvenienced but it trickled down to my family and had to wake up on the wie hours of the morning to pick me up at 2am. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
Cons: Boarding - people who sit up front go first meaning that those that have seats in the back have to go in past people who are still in the aisles arranging themselves. I could not get a drink of water without paying. Is it really that esxpensive to give a coke and some peanuts??? Paying for seat selection means that some people get in the seats other peoiple want (like window seats) who don't want them. I tryly believe that Frontier is the nickel and diming airline. And I don't believe you had to wait for a gate and 11:30 at night.
Cons: They charge more to carry-on than to check. By the time they made that clear, it was too late to check and they just threatened to raise it from $40 to $60 if I didn't act quickly. Everyone involved—from the gate attendant to customer service—has an impatient, condescending response about how these policy was made clear at the time of purchase. They are obviously very well practiced at explaining their ostensibly clear policies to throngs of ignorant masses who somehow didn't understand them when they purchased their ticket. In fact, their speech is so well rehearsed that you'd almost—almost!—start to question if they have actually made their baggage policies as clear as they think.
Pros: That they got me to my destination safely.
Cons: This airline is a joke. Shame on me for booking late and choosing the cheapest ticket. BUT knowing what I now know, I would have selected the Delta flight for $80 more. Here's why: No TSA Pre-Check. This aspects alone is a deal breaker. Pay for carry-on bag AND IT COSTS $40. Pay for beverages, snacks. Seats don't recline - "pre-reclined for your maximum comfort." Whatever Tray table is metal and tiny. You couldn't even fit an iPad mini on it, let alone a lap top. So, I put my MacBook on my lap to work, but it's uncomfortable, MacBook slides off. You're hitting the person next to you with your elbows. AND I have to take off my jacket, to protect my MacBook against hitting the metal tray table, so I got cold. No internet. It's 2016. No internet. It's 2016. Never again.
Pros: overall the aircraft and schedule was ok
Cons: Our luggage did not arrive at our destination. It was an absolute nightmare to get it back!! I had to call the airline about 50 times, where most of the calls were not answered. I had to keep calling and following up. When the luggage did come they only delivered one of the 2 pieces. The calling marathon had to be resumed most of which went unanswered! We finally had to rely on the delivery company to provide alternate numbers where there was a possibility to get an answer. Absolute nightmare!!! Never never will I travel this airline.
Cons: I was helping my mother - in - law check in and board - she needed wheel chair assistance. We were in line to drop off a bag that we had checked in online an hour before the flight. There were 5 people in the line with only 2 reps helping. Since I hadn't printed the boarding pass, I tried to print the pass at the self-help kiosks getting the message that I needed to see an agent. The cut-off for checked in baggage is 45 mins before the flight, however the reps were making no effort to expedite the service. In 15 mins they had helped 2 people making us the 3rd in line and the line had grown to an additional 5-6 people behind us. 45 mins before the flight they refused to take in any bags for checking - in. Since I was able to take the checked in bag with me, I asked that the agent print the boarding pass for my mother in law and call for wheel chair assistance. The agent called for wheel chair assistance but refused to print the boarding pass! The one thing that the ticketing / check in agent should be able to do is to print a boarding pass for a reservation that is fully paid. Because of this my mother in law had to miss her flight and we paid an additional $99 to get onto the next flight. I was so taken aback when the agent refused to print the boarding pass, that I did not even know how to convince her to do her job. This is probably the worst experience I have ever had with any airline!
Pros: Both flights were on time. There was no difficulty with boarding, everything proceeded in an orderly manner with no untoward delays.
Cons: Misleading information regarding carry-on baggage. Extra charge if I assigned myself a seat when I printed my boarding pass the night before the flight. Extra charge for every, little, thing. $1.99 for 3-4 ounces of Coke. 3-4 ounces of warm water with no ice. Seats that did not adjust. Minimal service from the flight attendants. On early morning flights (both of mine departed at 6 a.m.), when everyone was snoozing as well as they could, a flight attendant came on the VERY LOUD pa system with a commercial trying to get us to apply for the Frontier credit card. I will AVOID flying on Frontier in the future, and use it only as a last resort when I can't get a flight on ANY other airline (as was the case with this last-minute, necessary flight). It is the first time in over 30 years of flying that I had a BAD experience.
Cons: Just a super cheapo airline that offered an "inexpensive" ticket that then they charge you for everything else, with no warning about the hidden fees. Like baggage: you can't take on more than one free, tiny check-in without paying at least $35, if not much more. Uncomfortable seats. The flight was 3 hours late when a neighbor flight to the same city (on Southwest) took off on time, and so they gave us this lame $10 voucher to appease us, and yet we couldn't use it anywhere, just pissing you off more. They wouldn't accept it at the airport or on the plane, so, what the heck?
Pros: Getting OFF the plane
Cons: The new seats are flat out terrible. They're thin, poorly padded, and uncomfortable after only 15 minutes of sitting on them. I'm 6'-4", tall, but not a giant and my knees were against the seat in front of me. Legroom was nonexistent. When the stewardesses came through with food and beverages, it was $2 for a can of soda. So after paying an extra $30 to check one bag, and then paying ridiculous prices for a can of soda, and getting cramps after a 2-hour flight with no legroom, Frontier has moved to the bottom of my list for any future flights.
Pros: Frontier staff in SFO (San Francisco) friendlier to passengers than ORD (Chicago). Kept luggage at SFO for pickup when I arrived
Cons: Missed flight by 10 mins. Was able to check-in 1-hr before a domestic flight and get my boarding pass printed. However, the attendants were not interested in expediting me, and 4 other passengers going on the same flight, through security. Ultimately, 5 passengers with boarding passed missed their flight even though we had arrived to the airport and checked-in at an appropriate time! After the plane left, an attendant assisted a passenger to rebook their flight, but then left to go on break and left 3 of us stranded. Very few Frontier attendants available to help us. Had to pay $225 for another same day flight to SFO using American Airlines. Learning points: - hard deadline, need to be at gate 10 mins before departure time - lofty and esoteric reimbursement process - Frontier does not participate in TSA Pre-Check, so arrive 2 hours ahead of departure time for domestic flights - Frontier does not participate in other airline organizations, so unless you rebook with Frontier you are paying full price for the new ticket
Pros: Our flight didn't get canceled.
Cons: I did not like that the airline does not mention anything about paying for carry on, paying for all drinks and food or paying to choose a seat, which were extremely uncomfortable by the way. All of these costs combine could have equaled or exceeded other ticket prices. It felt misleading and not worth the effort. I also thought that the sales pitch on the flight was disruptive and annoying. If you are going to represent yourself as a budget airline, stop trying to nickle and dime me everywhere you can.
Pros: The boarding process was easy enough.
Cons: The crew was absolutely clueless. Half way through the flight no less than 6 sleeping passengers were woken and shuffled about because they discovered two other passengers had seated themselves in the priority area. I understand the desire to ensure passengers are seated properly. However, it was ludicrous to wake 6 people who were not at fault for this error on their part. They should have been more vigilant at the start, or left the rest of us alone after the fact. Terrible understanding of customer service. Also, our flight arrived early, however, they didn't have the appropriate gate available. Poor planning as we knew we'd be early about half way through the flight. Would not fly again, not because of the disorganized gate business, however, there's a real lack of customer focus on this airline.
Cons: Frontier has trained their staff and written their website to "threaten" passengers into buying extra's like bags, assigned seats ."if your bag doesn't fit we will charge you 120 at the gate", I cant' guarantee a refund" "you may not get a seat if you don't buy one online (they warn you three times on the website before you can complete online check in...we were "randomly assigned" 6 seats together for free by skipping the buy seats step and completing online check in). On frontier you can only take one personal item for free. carry on is $70 (35 one way) and checked bags are $60 (30 one way)...MORE at the airport. I also fault Kayak here, they don't compare apples to apples - united carry on bags are free.. I bought 5 checked bags (6 people flying), but we decided to just do a personal item in the end. Turns out you can only get bag refunds at the airport ticket office ..not online or by phone. The ticket agent said there was no guarantee we would get a refund, but she would put a note in our record. Hmmm....prepaid $300 for a service we didn't use and may not get refunded. Online check in tries to bully you into buying seats...you have to say no 3 times before they let you complete check in. That would have been another $120 for the 6 of us. The best for last. On the return flight home, we went to ticketing agent to get refund for return bags ( the outbound ticket agent would only put a note in our record for the outbound flight, so we had to stand in line again for the return flight). She told us there was a gate change and sent us to the international terminal (a different terminal than the rest of Frontier flights). She marked the new terminal on our tickets. We were at the gate for 45 minutes and realized there were only about 10 other passengers for our flight there. I tried to call frontier on the white airport phone. They just had a recording and told me to dial an 800 number. I was on hold for 20 minutes before i got a person who said he couldn't get me any information. The flight wasn't listed on the departures board in the international terminal we had been sent to, so finally we decided we'd better go to the original gate. We had to go to another termanial, go through security again, and found our flight boarding at the original gate. The woman who sent us to the wrong terminal was at original gate loading passengers, so she knew there had been a mistake. She said they had made two announcements. The trouble is, the announcements were not audible in the international terminal. I told her there were several other passengers at the wrong gate, one of whom was elderly and would need help making the flight, No apology, and when we continued to try to get help for the other passengers, they, told us to move away from the podium or they would call security!!! ARGH!
Cons: Once I payed for the overpriced checked luggage fee and the hidden carry one fee and then had to purchase a seat on every leg of my flight, it cost me $166.00 to print my boarding pass. WHAT!!! Biggest scam I of airline moguls I have ever dealt with. Not only will I never fly Frontier again or never recommend Frontier to anyone, I will surely go out of my way to make sure everyone knows what a rip off it is to fly Frontier. I could have flown on a decent airline non-stop with a soda and maybe even a movie for what it cost me to fly frontier.
