Cons: "Many people missed their connection at Dublin. I had a horrible ~6hr wait. Aer Lingus did nothing to help or compensate."
Pros: "Good food"
Cons: "We arrived late to Dublin because of weather and we’re going to miss our connection to Leeds so they rerouted us via Manchester but our bags, though tagged “Rush” did not make it on the new flight and we were without them for five days! we still had to get to Leeds so we had to pay for train tickets"
Cons: "2 hour window for transfers"
Pros: "Crew was very nice"
Cons: "When I checked in, I was asked if I would consider taking a United flt instead of aerlingus. I agreed but the flight had already filled up so the woman checking me in offered to seat me at an exit row. However on check in I realized she gave me someone else’s ticket. It was disappointing. My first f"
Pros: "On a 7 hour flight you want comfort. It was so smooth and easy. Watched movies, read, just relaxed. I've flown with Aer lingus before and it was just as amazing. I will ALWAYS use Are Lingus when I fly to the UK or Ireland and Shannon is a Gem of an airport. Most amazing airport I have ever been to!"
Cons: "Provide hot water"
Pros: "Good seats. Friendly crew. They were late serving the breakfast snack, must have not been watching the time, but it made me chuckle."
Cons: "The check-in at Washington Dulles was understaffed. Boarding was chaotic."
Pros: "Crew was amazing. Polite and friendly."
Cons: "Seats were not very comfortable and there wasn’t any room to put things in the space under the tray table. Food was below average."
Cons: "Dublin airport - huge lines foe transfers"
Pros: "Quick, on time, professional."
Cons: "Shuttle transfers... I prefer direct to plane boarding."
Pros: "Friendly boarding crew, the plane was bigger and more comfortable than many airlines use for such short flights"
Cons: "My luggage was mishandled and left in Dublin."
Cons: "Food alright"
Pros: "Boarding was quick and easy. The flight staff was friendly and efficient"
Cons: "Food was not good. The plane arrived late, as a result we missed our connecting flight."
Cons: "This was not a British Airways flight. They should have done a better job of communicating that. I wasn't informed until I tried to check in online 24 hours before my flight."
Pros: "Check in was great. On board crew was excellent and very attentive. Many offerings of drinks and food."
Cons: "Boarding was chaotic, free for all situation. Signage could have been better at the gate. One of the TV viewers/overhead lights didn’t work for our party. There was a large chatty group of people that were milling around, standing in aisle, talking loudly for much of the flight. I understand that there is only so much the crew could do about that."
Cons: "I had a 5 hour delay. I had to cancel the trip"
Cons: "Nothing! All was great"
Pros: "Plane, crew"
Cons: "Boarding agent took too long to load the plane which caused a delay which ultimately had us miss our connecting flight Didn't like that Aer Lingus didn't wait for us at Dublin when they knew we were going to be a few minutes late"
Pros: "Almost everything was good. Friendly crew, easy boarding, safe flight even with lots of air gusts (thanks to the pilots!)."
Cons: "Whatever fare Kayak provided was the worst seat (last row next to bathrooms). I wouldn't book through Kayak again and instead would go through the airline directly."
Pros: "Blankets and earphones provided."
Cons: "Couldn’t checkin at British Airways; there needs to be better signage at desk. Flight was delayed and we almost missed connection. Seat would not tilt back."
Pros: "1. Friendly staff 2. Good food on the plane"
Cons: "The cost of luggage - unfreaking real to have to pay for first suit case when flying overseas and they at a cost of $100 per item!!! Definitely not recommending this airline to my friends unless they are only taking carry-on luggage. The cabin room was more cramped then usual also but it was ok."
Pros: "The crew were very professional and courteous"
Cons: "No USB ports and no way to plug in one's personal earbuds. Sounds quality on the airline supplied earbuds was horrible. Gave up on the entertainment offerings and watched movies I had stored on my iPad. And really the worst food I've ever had on a flight."
Pros: "In flight entertainment"
Cons: "They don’t even give you water unless you pay. Three hour flight. Ridiculous"
Pros: "we left 30 minutes early!!! and the crew were wonderful...very helpful and friendly"
Pros: "Flight attendants were nice"
Cons: "Not very happy with Aer Lingus’s ground crew or customer service or the way they run things. And Dublin airport is an unorganized mess. Probably will never fly with them again. Gave no concessions for canceling my flight out to Amsterdam."
Cons: "The most uncomfortable plane that I have travelled on. Seat - unbearably uncomfortable. Toilet falling apart, parts of seats falling off."
Pros: "Boarding made sense. They boarded the back of the plane first. Kudos for that."
Cons: "The seat cushions were nonexistent. Less legroom than a mini backseat and no way to upgrade since I purchased on kayak...unless I was willing to pay $4000 more to get premium coach seats. Will not use kayak again."
Pros: "Smooth landing. Entertainment. That's about it."
Cons: "I've flown many overseas trips some first, some premium, some economy. This economy was the worst. I felt like a sardine smashed in a tin can. Also, extra to buy snacks and drinks? Not looking forward to the flight back. Would love to upgrade but site won't let you :( even if it gives you an option to do so"
Pros: "Seats and service was excellent. Flight was on time and very organized."
Cons: "I bought a BA flight because I am oneworld premium member. However, I learnt the flight was operated by Aer Lingus after I bought the ticket and I had no benefits."
Pros: "Goo entertainment on Dulles Dublin sector."
Cons: "It would help if ba would hilight fact that this is a code share with are linguistic. Seat were unbelievably small and had to walk to ends of earth for both the gate in Dulles and Dublin. No free food or drink on Dublin madrid sector but thankfully not full so I could stretch out. New planes on both sectors."
Pros: "Flight made great time! Boeing 757 was disappointing as it felt extremely crowded."
Cons: "Flight attendants were not very friendly or helpful (except the one in first class that help us out when needed). Never was asked for additional beverage and no extra with dinner."
Pros: "check in was efficient."
Cons: "purchase of beverages; lack of understanding food schedule"
Pros: "Staff was very cheery and thoughtful! Made the flight enjoyable."
Cons: "No boarding gate was ever given to us, nor available by looking up online. Caused us to almost miss our flight. Very frustrating to be running around and even the information desk couldn't locate our boarding gate! Aircraft also old and worn down."
Pros: "Sat in exit row, so leg room was great. Entertainment: played 5 card draw with my wife."
Cons: "Aer Lingus' model is kind of no frills, so can't be upset about no movies, free drinks, etc."
Cons: "Broken suitcase. I have traveled quite a bit with these hard sided suitcases over the past six years and witnessed some pretty rough handling. None of that caused any damage, so I am not sure what they did to break one down the entire length."
Pros: "Crew on board were very nice and very helpful.Apart from that I am struggling to see how this is a 4 star airline. It's a joke"
Cons: "AerLingus use a Boeing757 on this route and the seats are old, uncomfortable and many have dips in them. The entertainment system is ancient and had limited stuff on it. The food was as bad as airplane food gets. The 'beef' Shepard pie was lumpy and over salted. Also you must pay for beer and wine on this 4 star airline. They use "smart flies aer Lingus " as their advert tag line. In my opinion smart flies someone else"
Pros: "The in-flight experience and service."
Cons: "The fact that my luggage did not initially transfer from the first leg of my trip to the second leg of my trip. I received my luggage by the end of the day, but it was somewhat inconvenient to not have a lot of my personal effects for several hours."
Pros: "Not much"
Cons: "The ladies who checked in our bags were incredibly rude to me, my mother and my husband. On top of that they forgot to add the tags for Rome on our luggage so they got stuck in a connecting flight in Chicago. When we asked the supervisor to tell the people in luggage claim to forward our luggage to Rome when we were in Chicago (because of course the connecting flight only gave us 40 minutes to get to our flight to Rome so we didn't have enoughtrime to check our bags a second time), he said no. What would it have killed the guy to make a simple phone call? The alternative was to wait a day or two to see if maybe we could catch another flight to Rome with our luggage. I've never made a complaint before and I've never really made review because I don't it really accomplishes anything and I'm sure the idiots at American Airlines will never see or care about this, but I was extremely disappointed. They didn't get any empathy from your employees not even an im sorry, and I get that this job is hard but I have the same job too and I suck it up and still try to empathize with my customers. Oh well... it is what it is. The Airlines can do whatever they want."
Pros: "The flight attendants were friendly and helpful. We appreciated being able to preorder better meals. Good selection of in-air movies. Sitting anywhere for almost 7 hours is no fun but it could have been much worse."
Cons: "Small seats. My tray table wouldn't stay up."
Cons: "Added 12 hours to my trip and had to rebook on another airline for the second leg. The crew was unapologetic after sitting on the tarmac for three hours. Terrible airline"
Cons: "You can't get a seat assignment until you check in at the airport. I ended up in the very back row, right in front of the galley for a 7 hour flight. No sleep for me."
Pros: "Comfort and room on board."
Cons: "The flight was "booked" on BA but was actually on Air Lingus. BA had NO record of the flight, my reservation or anything. We had to run around the airport until we figured out a AL flight was the right one."
Cons: "You lost my luggage with my dead mother's paintings."
Pros: "Crew very personable."
Cons: "I was unable to change the flight in any way shape or form (even though I requested that weeks in advance). The only alternative was paying $+1000 more to change. While I still had tons of questions of my options (and was calm and polite!), they hung up on me. I ended up not even going on my flight and note being able to cancel my flight. Ridiculous, rude, and plain unpleasant. I will never take this airline again."
Cons: "Flight was delayed by 30 mins"
Cons: "Seat 31A: Headphone socket was not working properly, table was broken (didnt keep the food tablet), entertainment system crashed after pausing the movie. check-in baggage was lost during journey and still couldnt get found. Very annoying."
Pros: "Easy checking in at the desk. There wasn't a long line."
Cons: "I wasn't able to check in on line, and get a seat assignment before I arrived at the airport. I was disappointed water had to be purchased on that flight."
