The door would not lock, when we left the room. My husband had to lift the door to get it to lock, but when we went back to the room, the door opened without the key. Old and out of date motel with a lot of chaulking used in the bathroom. Air conditioner had a gap above where it was sitting and you could see that weather stripping was used on the gap, but it did not close it completely.
Our primary criteria were low cost and comfortable beds. Based on reviews this hotel was a match. The rate ($85 with breakfast) was great and the beds were indeed comfortable, as I had seen them described on Trip Advisor. Laughably small, thin pillows, though. I am tall with broad shoulders so beds and pillows matter a lot. Staff were all very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was very limited, but sufficient to get the day going. My major complaint, which has been my complaint for every Super 8 I have stayed in, was the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, even in our so-called non-smoking room and non-smoking floor hallways (and with many burn marks in our room to refute the N/S designation). Given how many hotels have gone fully non-smoking I suspect Super 8 has become a "go-to" brand for smokers. In any case, we got what we paid for, and what we expected, and it was fine for a quick overnight on a long drive.
