The staff was very kind and helpful for both pick up and drop off. The car was comfortable, clean and new. However the waiting time at the pick up was very long, my friends who landed 20 mins later came and pick up within couple of minutes in another car rental counter. The lady in the counter was very nice and helpful, however the customer had so many questions, requests and we had to wait him for more than 20-25 mins and the line behind me kept getting longer. If there were 2 staff in the counter at that time things could have been a lot easier and quick for the ones waiting in the line.
We arrived a couple of hours late for pick up, but they were very kind and we able to bring us a car in 30 mins. Car was fantastic, spotless BMW3. Much better quality rental car than in US. Staff were wonderful😁

I didn't like not being able to chose the warranty plan at the reservation time on the web site. It was very confusing when at the desk the clerk explained it to me. Plus I had no choice if the car would be stolen I had to pay the full car price. THIS IS totally not acceptable. Alamo must have insurance about that. I did feel push to accept an insurance even my credit card has a protection cover on rental car

Do NOT rent from Alamo at BCN airport. We arrived at 11pm and the small office near the car park, which was supposed to be open until midnight, was CLOSED. We were told to go into the desk in the Terminal, but that was also closed. We were told "yea, that happens." Great. If you are looking for a rental in Barcelona, the only one I can recommend is Sixt near Barceloneta (near Placa Pau Vila). I used them three times on our last trip and they were great. I would avoid all of the BCN airport rental counters if possible. Might also try Turo. Good luck.

Great rental experience, pickup was fast and easy at BCN terminal 2, quick and easy return at Terminal 1. Friendly and helpful staff!
My flight was canceled and I was not able to pick up my vehicle when I finally arrived two days later. When I found out my flight was canceled, I called all of the phone numbers provided to me and nobody answered. I contacted Expedia as the rental was through them, and they could not help either. I lost hundreds of dollars because I couldn’t change or refund my agreement.

Rented a car and when we arrived the office was closed at the time it should have been opened. They have good prices but you can see the things they overlook. This is the same company that charged us 150 euros because the car was returned "too dirty" (it was not). Last time I try to use them. Avoid this company. At Barcelona airport, just go for the companies that open until late: Sixt and Europcar.

It was not poor experience with Avis, it was poor experience with Kayak. When it was urgent need for help, there was no answer. And week past there was no answer from Kayak.

This Avis location struggles with treating customers fairly
Drop-off location in San Sebastian is in an underground car-park. We saw no signage until we had found and entered the car-park. Inside the car-park, signage is poor. The only realistic option for the drop-off is via a key-drop box. This was not made clear to me at any time prior to our arrival. Perhaps there was someone in the above-ground office but I do not know. The car itself was flawless and perfect for our needs.

Upon Arriving at airport we waited almost an hour for shuttle to return. Another couple had been waiting long before us, and they decided to catch a cab. We were about to do the same, but shuttle showed up. Staff was great, helpful and the vehicle was new, so super happy about that. Upon dropping off vehicle, the staff member insisted had had gone way over on the mileage, and how big of a deal it was going to be: Upon the realization he was wrong, by almost 700km, he was apologetic. Was still frustrating. Had a long wait for shuttle back to airport as well. Overall though, good experience.
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent car rental attempt at Barcelona Airport. Despite having a confirmed reservation and providing all required details, including my credit card from Kosovo, I was informed upon arrival that Budget does not accept credit cards from my region. This refusal caused significant inconvenience and additional expenses, as I had to secure a rental from another company, GoldCar, at four times the original cost. Furthermore, at no point during the reservation process was I informed of this regional restriction, which I find unacceptable.

1. there are not much time to drive in Barcelona in 3days. public transportation looks better for traveler. 2. inferior surface of front bumper scar which was charged 180 euros for me There is an unfair aspect of charging for scratches on the lower part of the vehicle. When the vehicle was first delivered, a 360-degree video was taken, but the lower structure of the vehicle bumper was not taken. When I was charged for the lower scratch of the front bumper, I felt a lot of unfairness.
Drop off location was shut when we arrived and the instructions for drop off were very unclear. Other than that great experience

Flight was delayed two hours and was told car no longer available when we arrived. Upgraded car only offered at almost twice the cost. Car stank of stale cigarettes despite a no smoking policy. Not pleasant to drive and left clothes smelling. After hours drop off location was not correct. Wasted time going to indicated location and then having to figure out and find new location.

Eurocar charged me an additional €30 per day for the car considering I was late arriving. The car provided was newer with modern electronics that were not useful and almost caused for an accident multiple times. There was no choice of car and I would have lost my money to change companies. Terrible company taking advantage of customers when in need. Also, the employee assisting was extremely rude and non-apologetic.

I had filled in my flight number when booking on Expedia via Kayak. My flight was delayed for two hours, I was exhausted from the delay. At 10pm I arrived Europcar desk, and they told me my car was cancelled because I did not show up within 20minutes of the rental time, that they did not see any information about my flight because I did not book directly from Europcar but from Expedia, which did not communicate about my flight. The lady (who’s very friendly) quoted me a tripled price I would have to pay to get a car from them, I walked to the next counter and rented a car from another company. I spent, in general, two times more than what I would have spent in terms of money. And I spent also an extra 1.5 hours just queuing & figuring all these out at the airport being tired from the travel at late night and eventually arrived my destination way past midnight.
absolute scam artists. charged me $400 after i had already left the country, claiming that something they told me was covered, i had to pay for. i was left in the middle of the night in the cold with no car because the car was failing to charge and all the charging stations werent working, I called them to ask what i should do and to ask for assistance in a country i don't speak the language of, and because i suffer from a disease that makes being super cold very dangerous. They sent me a tow truck when i didn't ask for one, i was asking them why their car and charging stations weren't working. but i assumed that because they sent a tow truck without asking me, that it wold be covered. because i pay for FULL comprehensive insurance that apparently covered everything including towing. the whole ordeal ruined my entire trip and i was very unwell. and then they charged me for the tow i didn't ask for, because their car was faulty !

Took an age to find the desk on arrival at Barcelona airport. We mistakenly went to the car pick up point first and they sent us back to their desk inside the terminal to do the parperwork . Process at the desk was quick and polite. Car was modern and clean (Seat Arona). Had a few of minor dents/scratches on pickup but we took photos just in case. Only problem of note was a wheel judder above 80km so really needed the wheels balancing. Full to full fuel policy filled up just outisde airport on return. Directions for return were reasonably straight forward - just took one wrong turn near terminal. Dropped keys in box as noone around (early Senday morning). Received an email later that day advising all checks done on vehicle and credit card deposit would be returned in around 7-9 days. Overall really happy for £160 covering a 7 day period (plus £50 own insurance).

Car collection took over 1 hour of waiting in a small, crowded room. Check in process then took far too long with OK Mobility have to re-enter so much of the info I had already provided during the booking process.
Hertz refused to accept my husband picking up the car instead of me, despite having sent an email to hertz to inform of this and him having the credit card for the reservation. He ended up having to pay $500 more for a new reservation at the counter.

When picking up my vehicle, they insisted I take a hybrid vehicle saying it was going to get better mileage for the price and save me on gas but it had worse mileage compared to the vehicle I had reserved, so I really just paid more for gas and more for the vehicle they upsold me on. There was no financial benefit.

The security deposit was outrageous and the request for an International Drivers Licence should have pointed out in bold letters before signing the contract.

Bait and switch, the price was very cheap online, US$14 per day. I only needed the car overnight in between two flights. When I went to pick it up, they said all these additional things were mandatory and it would be 105€ plus a deposit. I just decided not to take the car, that price is crazy.

The rental company was not Fox, as was listed when I booked, but another company called Gold Car. I couldn’t find their service counter at the airport and went instead to the car park and asked a man wearing a Gold Car uniform for help and he was extremely rude and literally mocked me. He repeated what I said several times like a child and sarcastically told me I was in the wrong place. I made it to the Gold Car service counter, hidden in the corner, and the agent behind the counter was yelling loudly and aggressively at the female customer in front of me. It was awkward to witness and be near. Another service agent was also helping her, but neither seemed nice or welcoming. The yelling man asked me for my reservation number and, because I had booked through Kayak, I had a confirmation number instead. He was extremely upset and rude and I fumbled to look through the email I’d received to find the correct number. I guess he was angry that we had booked through a third party, but how was I to know that would send him raging and there wasn’t anything I could I do at that point. He then asked for my international drivers license. I have one, from previous trips, but I’ve never had a rental car company ask for it. I have usually only showed my passport, so I unfortunately didn’t have the international drivers license with me. I tried to show him a picture of my international drivers license and the info, but he angrily yelled that he needed a physical copy and told me he couldn’t rent the car to me and stormed away. I understand that this may be a policy this company has, but I wasn’t given any of that information beforehand. How could I know that if I didn’t even know the real company that would be renting the car to me? Regardless of me not meeting the guidelines of this policy, every employee was rude and aggressive from the start and made me feel threatened and uncomfortable. I was kind of relieved when he refused to rent to me because that meant I could just walk away and choose another company. I ended up renting a car with another company without any issues, but getting aggressively yelled at by multiple angry men the moment I landed in Spain literally ruined my holiday. It takes quite a while to recover and get over such an experience and feel welcome as a tourist when you start with such a bad experience. I obviously will NEVER book a car rental through Kayak or any third party company again. The price is too amazing to be true so I guess you get what you’re paying for. This was an extremely awful experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life.
