At check in the reservations weren’t available so we had to show our reservation and it seemed to take quite a bit longer. However the customer service rep was apologetic and really stepped up to get our reservation handled

I interrupted the rep from some activity on her cell phone. The car was so dirty. It had trash, crumbs on the seat & cereal down the inside. Interior windows filthy. No offer to complete the cleaning.

There was no warning that I was required to have a major credit card i order to rent a vehicle with Hertz. The girl at the counter could have cared less to the fact that I had a reservation for 2 weeks in order to be in my close friend's wedding. She offered no help or other options, and simply wanted to keep saying, "It's our policy" yet when I asked to see the policy, she refused and said she would call the police on me! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I'LL NEVER USE HERTZ OR KAYAK AGAIN!

Cons:

The woman at pick up left it to me to inspect damage. When I told her about fender damage she noted it on the form but didn't inspect it herself. I then had to tell her about the cigarette smell and the oil change light. She said she'd let them know at the drop-off location.

Pros:

I picked up the car in Bend rather than at the Redmond air port and this saved me near $2oo.

Pros:

Great, easy pick up in Bend. The attendant was very helpful and quick to get us our information.

Cons:

The drop off location close a few minutes early and there was no drop box to leave the keys. We were told we had the car for 24 hrs but we were unable to get it in on time.

Cons:

The car I booked was at a location that was closed. I was then sent to a location that was 20 miles away and did not have any available cars. Enterprise was not able to rent any vehicle.

Cons:

Not charged me more than my reservation with Kayak+ a two hundred dollar deposit, of which one was refunded at all. This is typical with enterprise. Despite no damage ever being done on my part to any enterprise vehicle I’ve never gotten my deposits Back, in anything enterprise always finds a way to charge me additional. As of now I have paid 305 dollars for a 36 hour rental which is criminal.

The cost of gas was double the price if we let budget fill the tank. That’s price gouging. Other than that, car was clean and pick up and drop off was smooth and efficient.

Cons:

The representative walked me to the car to show me the vehicle had been sanitized and cleaned. After I arrived at my destination I found empty water bottles with chewed gum on the lid. There was trash in the back as well.

Lady at Budget in Bend promptly told me that the gps in the car would be disabled. Because of that I opted to rent one. The gps in the car worked just fine so I payed for something that I didn't need

Cons:

See my prior written statement. My final bill was double than what I was quoted and no explanation as to why. I didn't get a printed receipt just a transaction on my credit card. I travel frequently and rent cars frequently and now I will be hesitant on booking with Budget knowing that the cost is almost double than what you are quoted.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
