I thought this would be a great place to spend a few nights of our honey moon at as well my husbands birthday. We had booked a massage and told too wait in the reception area come time for out appt. We did this and 5 mins into the appt I asked reception if someone was going to come get us. She informed us we were in the wrong building and had to go the correct one. We didn't know where we were going so she showed us. Once we got up stairs the massage people said we were too late and needed to rebook. Upset because we only had the afternoon to go look around Brussels we had to cancel the massage. They wanted to charge us for the 2 massages booked and missed but we felt it was their misinformation. After a argument with reception we were able to have them remove the massage charge on our bill. The following day we went to check out and the massages were still on the bill, she clearly knew about the issue and removed them once we said were not paying for that. But also on the bill was rental fees of towels we used for the pool at 7 euro a day each person and also a pool fee 30 euro a day weather it was a 15 min dip or a 3 hour swim. Every hotel Ive ever stayed at the price of pool and towels are included in the hotel fee. Maybe being more upfront about these charges would be nice. Once we converted the bill to CDN it was 600$ for 2 nights stay at this dump! Thank for a horrible memories for our honeymoon and my husbands birthday! Great place NOT! Good luck charging people 30 euro to use the pool! I hope this review keeps at least one person away from your sneaky ways!
Pros: The building its self was neat. Everything else to horrible!
Cons: Yes, hidden fee's lack of communication from staff.
Pros: Aesthetically, the common spaces were lovely. The food and beer were reasonably priced at the restaurant, and the minibar prices were fair.
Cons: The staff was very unfriendly and unhelpful. To use the spa you have to pay an additional 13 Euro per person.

Pros: Extremely very well situated across from Brussels airport entrance. It's the prime dpot to spend the last night before you leave.
The good is good. Good breakfast. It's on the more expensive side but the location is what makes this property so convenient.
There is a good train connection at the airport to get to the center of Brussels Antwerp Gent of Oostende.
Cons: Its of course well understandable to the expensive side. Breakfast $25. But it's location makes you accept.

Breakfast was a little pricey at 20 Euro per person, so we opted to eat out. Not an issue with so many choices nearby. Parking spaces were tight, but many in Europe are. Shower was spacious and appreciated after a long days in summer heat. The wifi was everywhere and sufficient.
Pros: Location. Extremely convenient to the train station, restaurants, and shopping. Short walk to the old town. Hotel is very nice and clean. Parking is under the hotel on site and the same price as public parking nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Location was not too far from the city center.
Better deal than other 4 star hotels (offered on line) with breakfast
The beds were comfortable and firm enough.
Cons: I am very disappointed!. We were expecting a 4 star hotel but this is barley a 3 star hotel.
1) The smell or cigarette was all over our room and the staff were not very helpful !!! I went to the front desk and complained , the gentleman behind front desk was trying to help and maybe switch the room , but for some reason he is asking the lady (Emma) and she said there is nothing available and her solution was spraying the room to get rid of the smell of smoke!!!! Either they sprayed the room or not even didn't bother!!! since the smell existed until we checked out. We could not keep the door /window open at night since our room was facing the HWY and the noise was disturbing us.
2) We arrived at 9:25am for breakfast and the four trays of the warm food were gone!!! There was no staff in the restaurant and I told the front desk to send someone to the area. The fruits and other food items were also not fresh and not good quality.
We were planning to stay a few more nights upon arrival but with our disappointment we decided to stay only one night.
If Scandic wants to survive in Antwerp they must do something about this low quality service.
Pros: The location
Cons: staff are unprofessional, breakfast is bad specially the egg and sausage choice. Rooms are dirty. Electric plug was broken and we complained three times but nothing was done.

Pros: Very close to the airport, free shuttle, clean, modern, nice restaurant and bar. Train station is near by .
Cons: Hotel is located in the middle of business park.
Pros: Great hotel close to the airport. 30-40 Euro taxi ride to town. Staff is great in the bar area. Nice service and food is well done.
Cons: Carpets not the best of shape. Could be cleaned. Taxi service is a bit slow. If you need to be somewhere at a certain time, I would book the taxi the night before.
Pros: Location and value
Cons: Airport shuttle not 7/24
Cons: I called reception and waited for an unnecessarily long time before an irritated and unfriendly employee answered me. I asked for some utensils and he said "didn't room service give you this?" And I responded "This is not room service related", as I wanted utensils to eat with take away food. His irritation came through his voice while he said "fine." He hung up on me before I could say thank you. After this short but unfriendly exchange with reception, I never got my utensils! I never called back to followup . It wasn't worth the hassle and especially the rudeness. I improvised by using their wooden coffee stick as utensils instead. It wasn't easy to use but did the job with the scooping motion. I've never experienced such distasteful rudeness from hotel staff before until now. It really put a sour ending to my visit to Brussels. It only takes one uncalled for encounter to leave a bad immpression. Needless to say I will not be coming back to this hotel. And forewarning for anyone asking for utensils; good luck with that!
Pros: A beautiful, comfortable, well staffed hotel. It was perfect for my 13 hour layover at Brussels Airport.
Cons: Twenty One Euro for breakfast is outrageous. I ate about two eggs, two slices of bacon, a slice of toast and coffee. I can not eat Twenty One Euro of breakfast. It would have been nice if the restaurant was open for breakfast.
Pros: Facilities, staff, restaurant and overall upkeep all excellent and consistent with 4-star designation. Airport shuttle was active/available (contrary to older reviews). Good location for airport access. Gated parking was 15 E on-site and was very convenient.
Cons: Air conditioning was poor and room remained rather warm (sign on thermostat noted that it was an eco-friendly system so this may not be considered a major issue by some), only 1 full size towel for double room posed an inconvenience. Location very good for airport access but otherwise nondescript.
Van Der Valk Hotel Brussels Airport is just 3.5 mi (5.7 km) from the airport and offers a free shuttle at scheduled times. Guests can visit the fitness center for a workout or grab a bite to eat at Catharina, one of 2 restaurants, which serves Modern European cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A bar/lounge and a terrace are other highlights, and rooms at this upscale hotel offer up nice touches like pillowtop beds with premium linens.
Pros: Room appointed nicely and comfortable for overnight stay. Check in efficient and pleasant.
Cons: Was not aware to ask for a 'first floor' room. They did not have an available and although many rooms are on the first floor, our room was accessbile only by stairs. We were 2 mature couples who had stayed in Europe for family event and touring, so one of our pieces was especially awkward.
Pros: I chose this hotel for two reasons:
1- the location is so close from the airport and you don't have to pass through the traffic jam to Zaventem. So, i recommend it if you have an early morning flight.
2. Swimming pool, which was closed as most of the hotels do now adays.
The reception was a disaster, that everybody did a check in had to fight with the receptionist, who was appearantly not satisfied with her work.
My check in passed quietly (except paying the city tax which was for the first time not includedin the price)but after a while she called me from the reception an said some info were missing from my credit card, then she said you have to pay the city tax!! Told her i already did with your collegue. She said NOO you didn't pay! Told her call ur collegue.
She called him, spoke in dutch, then said he did not tell me( without saying SORRY).
Every body who was working there, whether in the restaurant, reception or out side, was absolutly not friendly and angry.
Do not recommend it and will never be there.
Cons: The receptionist
The money value
Swimming pool closed.
Hammam closed ( why it's a resorts then?!)
Pros: Excellent convenience to the airport; clean, modern, well-appointed rooms; very close to the train station too; great facilities and helpful staff.
Cons: The restaurant is of decent quality, but (not surprisingly) overpriced.
Pros: nice hotel, good facilities, near the airport, staff is very nice and helping
Pros: The desk clerks were very helpful. The rooms were great, and the layout of the hotel was great.
Pros: Very nice and helpful staff in reception, good location for those who are travelling around the country, just off the motorway
Cons: The double bed was too small for two persons
Pros: the room service was fabulous
Pros: Free airport shuttle service, proximity to airport was good but not so close that plane noise is a problem. Staff helpful and room a good size and nicely set up.
Pros: The room was extremely clean and comfortable.
Pros: perfect room and bad
Cons: jaquzzi, outdoor swimming pool are broken ,no breakfast .No free wi-fi in a room
Pros: location, big room, nice design
Pros: the food (breakfast and lunch) is very poor but very expensive.

Pros: Cool restaurant with patio. Good location. Nice rooms. Nice staff. AC.
Cons: Strange design. Dark lighting in hallways. I think could be slightly cheaper, but still decent value.

You can relax with a drink at the bar/lounge, and the restaurant is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat. Pros: This hotel is fantastic. I only stayed overnight but wished it was longer. The room was clean, spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. The shuttle was prompt and the front desk staff were warm and helpful.
Pros: Great location and staff
Cons: Difficulty in getting shuttle bus from the airport. Ended up taking taxi.
Pros: Friendly staff. Good location to airport.
Cons: Room was cold. Shuttle didn't pick us up for an hour.
Shuttle bus driver should organize the baggage on the bus to make space for everybody's luggage. When all seats are taken, he should show empathy for passengers with no seat by asking other passengers to try to make room or have all luggages put in the back of the car. The driver is the captain in charge and should be concerned for the safety and wellbeing of all passengers. At booking time Hotel should alert all customers to call hotel if shuttle is needed. We almost missed the last shuttle because of our late arrival at Brussel's airport car rental return.
Pros: Shuttle bus arrived at airport after we called the hotel after our late 11 PM+ arrival
Cons: On 11/10/2014 8 AM shuttle to airport the driver didn't help organize the luggages in back of the shuttle bus even though there was no space left for our 3 luggages and that of another passenger.
Pros: Proximity to airpor, shuttle service, clean quiet rooms
