The staff was amazing!!! Joe carried my bags to my room and could not have been more of a pleasure to talk with. I was heading into town for a girls night out and instead of calling me a cab the hotel drove me to my destination! It made my whole night much more relaxing and stress free. Also, the pillows were insanely comfortable. When I checked out I immediately went and bought all new pillows for my bed at home. I was so inspired by my wonderful night's sleep...
Beautiful suite with a walk-in shower and bear-clawed tub, nice views and a friendly, professional staff. Not replacing the in-room coffee and the $35 a day valet parking are little things that irritate.
I thought the staff was very friendly. There was an upbeat vibe in lobby. The location was great. Easy to walk everywhere from the hotel. Didn't like that I had to valet park my car. My final bill was $130 more than I agreed to because of extra fees. There was an extra resort fee and the parking was expensive. Mattress was very old and uncomfortable.
Very close/walkable to all. Hidden costs - parking, facilities.... Its an additional $15 a day for each. This is not clear in the post.
The Viking Hotel is in a perfect location. You can walk to all of the attractions. The staff was courteous and took care of all of our needs. The bathroom was tiny.
All the extra charges. There is an extra $35 nite fee for parking. That should be included for people who stay.
I stayed here in November when rates are certainly lower. Hotel was excellent value, great service, good food, very nice facility. The hidden fees for parking and "resort fee" are a bit annoying.
The people working there are very nice. Constantly opening doors etc. Sneaky hidden "resort" fee. This is NOT a resort. If you're going to tack on an extra $50 at check out that you hid from your fees then you need to have much nicer facilities. The workout room was small. The pool had carpet around it and was too cold to use. The beds were VERY creaky and could be heard all night long when the people upstairs got out of bed to use the restroom etc. the rooms were clean enough, not super, but I wouldn't put my baby in that bathtub that's for sure.
Location was great, close to shopping and Downtown. Requested a king size bed, but got a queen sized bed. There were only 2 queen rooms, and we got one b/c of our length of stay?? Sink did not drain the first day, but was fixed. There was no electrical outlet in the bathroom, had to use the hairdryer out in the bedroom, but had to plug it in under the desk, so I was not able to stand and dry my hair. Wallpaper in the bathroom was lifting. The bed was not comfortable. Advertised that there were pillow top mattresses, ours was definitely not a pillow top and it was quite flat. There was no refrigerator in the room, coffee maker was old and outdated. I have been in far cheaper rooms that provided a keurig and nicer coffee provisions. Powdered creamer in a packet was gross. Overall, it was fairly disappointing for the $500.00 per night rate.
Excellent location near action in Newport. Pleasant old hotel ambiance, though most of hotel is 1960's construction, well disguised behind original hotel facade. Parking fee extreme ($35 per day about 25% of room rate). Tub in room was nasty, no one would consider soaking in it, ok for shower. Wall behind tile in shower clearly water damaged with tile buckling and uneven with stained grout. No doubt hiding serious mold problem behind tile. Not so serious that I thought I needed flip flops for shower, but clearly showing neglect.
Great location and luxury appeal. Seems that the luxury only goes to the higher end rooms and more public places. The public bathroom in the hotel was 3 times more amazing than the one in our room.
This is a lovely hotel in the middle of a historic district with an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Hotel staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We had a great time in Newport.
The place is run down and looks more like a motel. We had booked two nights, but after seeing the place, we cancelled the next night and booked it in Holiday Inn express in Middletown (which looked lot better and was only $15 more per room). It also mentions unlimited transportation, however even though we had two queen beds in a room (4 people), they only gave free transportation to two people. Definitely not worth the stay.

The room was really nice, love the wood floors. Bathroom very clean. Room was comfortable and we'll appointed. I like that the sink area as separate from the toilet and shower. Also, I appreciate that the whole bathroom area was behind a wall separate from the bedroom.

Great shower. Comfortable beds, clean. Great steak restaurant attached, get there early as they are busy every night. Towels were older, but clean and plenty of them. No free breakfast.
It was fairly clean The price is not worth what you get over priced and Lady Maniger is rude. They do not honor AAA or New Port Grand Play and Stay offers. If it was not so close to where I was a seeing a show at the NewPort Grand I would of chose a more eligant room downtown for twenty dollars more.
We paid for a shuttle and couldn't even get one the first day we were there. Second day we waited in the lounge for the shuttle and the girls at the front desk forgot to tell us when they came so we missed that one too. Front desk help was awful.
Cheap, clean and 7min drive from center Newport. It was clean but smelled like Clorox
very close to downtown New Port ... that's it very old, humid and you can actually smell the mold .. rusty and not renovated .. too expensive for what it offers

Lots of room especially the bathroom area Very hot room when we first arrived and it took awhile to cool off. We were instructed to enter through the side door and go to the second floor to our room. There was no elevator. Usually not a big deal but we had a week and a half worth of luggage to lug up the stairs and more than half way down the long hall. When I checked out they had my room rate in their system incorrect, almost $40 higher than what I booked. They corrected it, but good thing I didn't just leave my keys in the room and head out, like I normally do.
This hotel is in the heart of downtown Providence and it's connected to the Providence Place Mall as well as the Dunkin Donuts Convention Center. Self parking is $18 per day and valet parking is $28 per day. Valet has come and go priveleges whereas self parking does not. WiFi is also pricey if you would like a decent connection. It came in at $15 per day.

We loved the location and consistency in Omni hotels. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very nice restaurants and close to mall with high end stores which I loved. Comfy beds and my 2 kids under 2 loved it as well. Only occasional chair in room needed to be changed or cleaned as stains on cream shows up unfortunately.
The hotel is right next to downtown and connected to the mall and convention center. The Internet was too expensive and parking was a bit pricey as well.

It's clean and was a large room. We checked in at 11 pm after a long drive excited to get to bed. We were kept up for hours when what sounded like a trash compactor was on all night. It was SO LOUD and we live in a city so we are used to noise. I just can't believe they put us in that room and that they charge people money to stay in a room that is next to some sort of loud machine.
I liked how close the Hotel was to many fun bars and exciting things to see. I didn't like the staff, the hair that was all over my room and not having any food available 24hr.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well appointed. Pool area was fun and we enjoyed the hot tub. I felt a little nickel and dimed: the parking was expensive and there weren't other options in the area. It added a lot of cost to what seemed to be, initially, a great deal.
stayed two nights at the hotel for my 21st and Valentine's Day. the hotel is right in downtown providence. easy to walk to places. also enjoyed that the hotel was connected to the providence place mall. my boyfriend and I stayed in a premier room so we had beautiful views of downtown. We paid extra to get a corner room which we thought would have been bigger than it was. The room next to us had a young child who spent the night screaming from 4am-noon, so we didn't get much sleep the first night. Wifi was expensive as well as parking. Also from our room you could hear the elevator every time it came up and down past our floor which was annoying at times. we purchased a movie one night to watch and the movie skipped. the front desk did not charge us for it, but you would think for paying $18 for a movie that the quality would have been better
The room and view were wonderful. Large bathroom, comfortable bed, and overall very clean. The hotel is connected to Providence Place, which makes it easy to do a little shopping if you would like to. At first I felt the valet parking was a little expensive at $28 a night, but it really is worth it. Obviously free parking would be ideal, but self parking is almost as expensive and doesn't give you the flexibility to come and go. The indoor pool is worthless. It is quite small and entirely overrun with noisy kids. We walked in and turned around immediately. The elevator was very frustrating. It requires key cards to select any floor that isn't the ground level. That wouldn't be a problem if the card reader worked flawlessly, but it didn't. It also did not stay on the current floor, while we selected where we wanted to go. This means, that although we were going up, the elevator would move to another floor before we could make our selection. People would get on going in the opposite direction, which was very annoying.

Actually booked the room from my iPhone while driving up 95, a half hour before arrival. Great deal through Kayak. Although it was very late, the staff were pleasant and polite. The room was perfect for my high school senior son and myself.
Great location. Staff was friendly. Room was clean, comfortable and we had a great harbor view. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Parking was $25 a night which seems high, especially in April.

Although I had paid through kayak before we arrived the hotel charged my credit card for the room. It took days and a number of phone calls to finally get the hotel to remove the charge. It may just be easier to just book through hotel.
Loved the location right on the harbor walking distance to all the shops,cafes, bars...less than 20min. Drive to beavertail lighthouse,beautiful ocean view at the ocean drive historical center, Fort Adams,windmill hill We payed $25 dollars a day to park at the Newport Harbor hotel.....
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Great location on America's Cup Ave. withing walking distance to almost everything. Pretty views of the marina out back. First floor rooms are great because you can sit outside your room and relax or play with kids.
Front desk staff very helpful. Air conditioner was not working our first night they immediately sent someone up to take a look at it. He thought he had it fixed but that was not the case. We reported this to the front desk and they had the unit replaced the next day. Bar area downstairs is a great place to relax. Can't wait until the new restaurant opens. Beds/ pillows not that comfortable. Rooms could use some updating.
The front desk staff gave us excellent suggestions for meals and directions how to get somewhere. Everyone in the hotel was friendly. It was a great location and we could walk almost everywhere.
Central Providence. Five to ten minute walk to area colleges, civic center, numerous restaurants, boutique and mall shopping. All rooms recently and tastefully renovated. Starbucks on site. Excellent staff. Immediately surrounded by historic buildings. Peregrine falcons nest on nearby building (the "superman building"). Expensive ($28) valet parking. No overnight parking on any of city's streets.
The Biltmore Hotel is a reasonable place to consider for a visit to Providence. It is an older hotel with a historic background and there is a certain charm to staying at such a place in comparison to the typical chain. That said, one must make a few accommodations in this regard. Some things may strike one as dated be it the size of the bathroom, or the trim, or the non-self-closing door (which I actually liked). The skim coat in my shower was cracked..so what?. There is no pool. There is a full-service Starbucks adjoining the lobby. I grew up staying at older hotels with my grandmother. I find them charming. The place is clean and the staff are kind. The bed was very comfortable though rather high off the ground compared to most. The furnishings were contemporary and functioned well. I got a two room suite fit for a CEO for under $200 a night. I have no complaints.

Almost everything about the Biltmore is awesome. It's a beautiful hotel. It's got a ton of charm. The rooms are spectacular. The beds are comfortable. The staff is amazing. The location is central and perfect. It's one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in including various Four Seasons etc. I could wax lyrical for hours... but the net-net is that every time I'm in Providence, I'll be staying at the Biltmore. The quality of the room service breakfast was lacking. Poor food quality. No jam for the toast or syrup for the pancakes and the coffee was lame.
It has charm and a richness.
Loved this hotel. We got a junior suite (for a great price). Had views of Brown/RISD, the Capitol, etc.

Room was huge (stayed in junior suite alone), very clean, staff polite and attentive, especially house car/valet folks. Proximity to everything was perfect. I wish I could stayed more than one night!

I loved everything about this hotel. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
The bathroom wall is translucent and doesn't go completely up to the ceiling. If one goes to the batroom at night the light shining through and over the wall disturbs the partner. Also, the wall having a space at the top allows bathroom sounds and aromas to enter the rest of the room. If one prefers privacy, this is not the place.
Location. Only. Enormous Power Outage. Since it was an unforeseeable weather catastrophe, depleting power to the majority of city, the hotel can not be blamed for this. But...what they can be blamed for, having NO emergency lights, a violation of state law, in hallways that actually functioned when power went out. Enormous safety and fire hazard. Not to mention, NO A/C, NO Hot water, NO clean water. Nothing. Brown, dirty water came out of faucet. What's worse is that we were forced to check out, as the 99% of the hotel guests did, and they pretended like they were doing us a favor by allowing us to check out without a penalty, but still charging us for the first check-in date, despite 5+ hours of no electricity, no safety, no A/C, no clean-warm water. We asked if they wanted us to be a future, loyal customer to NYLO, they refused to say, and said they were still charging us for 1st nights stay despite half the day with no power, no reimbursement, no warm water, no clean water, using flashlights to move out our luggage and having to carry luggage down flights of stairs as no elevators had power, despite a physical disability. We would never suggest or even think of staying at another NYLO chain with the lack of any compassion toward customer's satisfaction. Spent the next 8 hours in search of a new hotel. What a terrific stay, NOT. Good luck with future guests.
The loft concept is unique and captivating first impression. The bathroom shower was not clean, dirt and grime were caked into the shower curtain. The walls and corners of the shower were dirty as well. Air in the room felt to congested, concrete floors were nice for the industrial feel but not comfortable to walk on. Apart from cleanliness of bathroom and the delay for drinks to arrive at our table for dinner, the hotel was worth the stay
I enjoyed the style and atmosphere of the hotel. We arrived close to 2am, and were greeted with a warm welcome and assisted with any needs we had, in a timely manner, by Julie who was doing everything herself - and beyond excellent job at that. The bar staff was friendly, made us feel at home. Arriving in the middle of the night, Julie was alone at the front desk, as well as providing us with any needs we had, such as, bringing us more pillows. As a female, I do not think it is safe for a female to be at a facility on her own. Also, the following morning we were never greeted or welcomed by the front desk employees. They were talking with one another instead of acknowledging their staff.

The entire place was very clean and smelled clean. The staff was friendly. The decor at the hotel was very interesting and different from any other hotel. The beds were very comfortable. The back of the hotel was pretty facilities get the river and at night the lights added a nice affect. The hotel was centrally located in RI and made it easy to get places. I was disappointed with the restaurant. There was not a lot of diversity on the menu and the prices were expensive. Also there was a wedding there on evening and it closed off the restaurant/ bar inside and outside to the guests staying at the hotel.
The lobby. Spending the night in Warwick at NYLO. Got dessert at the hotel restaurant..a "sweet and salty" It's French fries covered in caramel with ice cream, fudge and chocolate covered bacon. The bacon was a little undercooked and fatty which wasn't appetizing when covered in chocolate. Not for the unadventurous for sure, the menu was pretty good with some thoughtful touches, the staff very accommodating. The atmosphere a little too dimly lit for my taste, and the drinks a bit overpriced, but worth it for the experience. The decor is modern/industrial but falls a little short in some of the cheaper fixtures that just don't go, i.e. faux coral chandeliers and bar stools that look like leftovers from an American Legion. They could have done better in that regard. I'm thinking I won't waste my money next time my husband and I plan a night away. The sheets and towels are rough, the bed so-so. The pillows are abnormally small (think slightly larger than an airline pillow). Paint was chipping in the shower and the bathroom itself reminded me more of a murder room out of SAW than a luxury hotel. The shower, while large, with a rainfall shower head with great pressure, went from arctic cold to scalding with very little wiggle room in between. Again, the modern fixtures and furniture aren't much better than ikea quality and the aesthetics are nice from a distance but not for what we paid to stay. The lobby was fun with retro books and suspended egg chairs. Also the hotel itself is unusually cold and I am always hot so that's saying a lot. Bummer.

Bedding very comfortable, nice pillows, and a clean room. Broken Toilet, when we called downstairs to let them know, got the impression they already knew there was an issue. They did send someone right away, but wish it was taken care of before getting to our room. That night after returning from dinner 9 p.m. the guest in the next room BANGED AND SHOUTED for us to be quiet - we were laughing - no TV on no music on just enjoying our view and relaxing - did NOT feel comfortable at this persons Anger! We were able to change rooms but at the front desk did get a little push back on - if they could get us a room with a view...I told them we were not loud and that HE was the problem she then stated ours was the second complaint from him - regarding a different guest...and she said how they had plans in the work to fix the soundproofing issues with the whole complex. Following night after dinner we returned and decided to go to the bar for a nightcap we got a high top table but went over to the bartender to place our drink order she seemed put out definitely not pleasant.
Loved the location. On the water and walking distance to everything in newport. Good hotel to stay at with teenagers but truly just an average and little worn marriott on inside. Felt very 1980s needs lobby re do. Hotel front desk seemed overwhelmed and a bit immature. Made promises could not and did not keep. Conceriege lounge was average -- staff not very attentive in there. Food and liquor would run out and go unnoticed by staff. Also had an odd smell.
The lobby transports you to New York with its style and layout. The rooms are well appointed and have great views of New England vistas. I visit Providence three time a year, How have I never stayed here before? Bathroom was a bit dark, but not a deal breaker.

This is a very attractive hotel. The people are very nice. The rooms are attractive with comfortable beds. There is a bar downstairs with excellent music and no cover. The food at breakfast was excellent. The booking never got through to the front desk, but they honored the price on my confirmation email.
It was a beautiful hotel with pleasant, helpful staff. The room was elegant and had everything we needed. It was centrally located. Near both great restaurants and the Providence Performing Arts Center where we caught a show. The front desk staff was a little slow when checking out. Other than that . . .it was all great.

The location of the hotel was great with lots of bars, restaurants and event locals close by. Hotel was a bit below its normal price point in my opinion. Our suite was very nice but the shower sucked. I'm glad that we got a promotional/discount rate.
The bed and the pillows were very comfortable. The staff was very unorganized and were very easy to get confused. The valet parking was a joke.
The staff were great, not only attentive but cheerful and genuinely friendly, enjoyed chatting with us. Only a few blocks to walks along the river. Nice big room, really soft bed. We stopped here on the way home from Maine to Brooklyn, NY, and probably will again next year. The coffee.
We booked this hotel because we were in town for one night, visiting the Waterfire festival. The location was great, close walking distance to the festival, downtown shopping, and restaurants. The hotel staff/policies were incredibly unhelpful. We were informed when we checked in that if we had called and asked for the military/ government rate we would of paid less than 50% of what we were charged. Of course, there was nothing they could do about it now. What they didn't tell us at check in was that the deluxe king room we had reserved and paid twice what we should of for, was unavailable. They happily checked us in and sent us up to what I can only assume is the worst room in this 4 star hotel. The glass shelf in the bathroom was broken, there was a large stain on the carpet, the door was so crooked on the hinges there were cracks you could easily see through at the top and bottom. But worst of all, it was a QUEEN sized bed, not KING. Shouldn't be the end of the world, but paying double what we were supposed to and then not even getting what we payed for- not really okay. Assuming they gave us the wrong room unintentionally, we gathered our things and went back to check in, where we were told that A: they can't change our room because the hotel is completely booked. B: it was in the fine print of "whatever website" we booked on that the room wasn't guaranteed. C: there was no offer of a rate reduction or other forms of compensation. Well, after reading all the terms and conditions of the website, and finding nothing mentioning the room not being guaranteed, we called the website, who did everything in their power to help, but we ended up cancelling the hotel reservation (through the website, not the hotel) for a full refund. No complaints about the website, they even went so far as to call all the other 4 star hotels in the area trying to get us a transfer. The hotel on the other hand, is a buisness I hope never to meet again.

Newport is known for its mansions and opulence. The Vanderbuilt is a modern version of a big and beautiful home. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. You may very well feel like you are an Astor or Berwind. My favorite part is brunch in the Conservatory. The food is great and the room is just so pretty. Not my first stay and won't be my last.
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very attentive and courteous. The location PERFECT you literally walked down Mary St and you were in the center of Thames couldn't have asked for a more convenient spot. The views from the roof deck were breath taking.
Comfort of the room & location to the conference facilities in the city On the final night, there was a disturbance (drunk young men) on our floor. Despite being informed at 2.30am - the staff/security did not deal with this issue until 5.30am. By this point, my night's sleep was beyond repair! We were not offered componsation for this - which was very disappoionting, as we paid a lot of money for this room, and only managed a few hours sleep.

People were generally friendly, but a lack of either flexibility or authority with the front level staff was mildly upsetting. I booked two nights separately online. (I decided to add a night to the stay in advance of going). When I got to the hotel I mentioned this and they said it wouldn't be an issue. Just to check back in the next day. When I went to check back in at 8 AM, it was an issue. They wanted to move me because someone had already checked in online for my room? I had to spend half an hour and speak with 3 people to get it resolved. The woman at the front desk originally told me there was nothing they could do. It would have been nice if she had offered to check with someone rather than me having to ask to speak with a manager.

Having made a reservation for two doubles in june for oct, we arrived to find there were none available. We were give a king and rollaway torture bed. We wetre told that rooms were given to walk-ins first come, first serve. Why do you take our phone # and credit card? Parking outrageously expensive with no options.
The location was perfect for the seminar we were taking the price was very high for what we received.

The professionalism of the reservation agent at the hotel. They did not have the reservation that I made in their system. So had I not called ahead of time to cancel, there would've been some awkwardness of having booked the room online only to not have it in the hotels system.
The check in & concierge were efficient. Although whilst they foced on dining. I believe for me it would have been more advantageous to mention the trolley tour bus which shows you around the city as I was only there for one day & had travelled from Australia. By the time I read a brochure Sunday morning the tours didn't start till 11.00 when I was ready to leave.. Also my daughter Julie has called the hotel as they had debited our credit card almost $500 even though I paid cash Saturday. As at Yesterday this matter still had not been rectified. We had two rooms there, perhapsd as a good will gesture you could comp them a room in the future. On a college tour with my 17 year old daughter and she fell in love with Providence mainly because of the experience we had at and around the Dean. Great service; everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms and public spaces were eclectic but comfortable. Highly recommend it.
The coffee shop has excellent expresso, delicious! The elevator is an old fashioned "lift". Young people running the reception have wonderful, polite personalities! WiFi works well. Rooms have wood floors, nice decor, very clean ! I do like the hotel, and sincerely enjoyed my stay. I actually extended it two additional days! You wouldn't bring young children, I say, because of the lift.
Hotel was beautiful, rooms very clean and staff very helpful
Everything about the Dean felt like it had been planned out very meticulously. The lighting, amazing linens, and custom soaps and shower gels were all perfect. We kept discovering great "little" gems throught our whole stay!

The hotel delivered as expected. Rooms were up to date. The shower was a bit tricky to use. Cost of parking $26 was a bit high
close to the airport, airport shuttle wifi not working, strange smell in the bathroom
The room was nice. We did have a pull out couch in the room but it would have been nice if there were linens left in the room so we could have used it. Overall it was a nice stay.
Arrived late at night at airport (next to hotel) and left early in the mornning. Slept.

I think it was a great value for the money. It is close enough to main attractions (Providence, beaches, Zoo), it provides complementary breakfast, very clean, great staff. The room was very confortable. I was surprised by a call to the room about 5 minutes after walking in, asking if I found everything fine.
I liked the location and easy access to highway and shopping. Also close to airpot and NEIT The only thing I did not like and its not a deal breaker, but my guest and I never had 2 wash cloths, always had to ask for another one.
