Location It is old but that helps with the charm. Clean and well maintained
Location, charm and coziness of main inn, kindness of staff Very disappointed to have been assigned, I suppose, to the back-alley motel they refer to as an "annex". I NEVER would have spent $200 to book there had I known ahead of time. We were in town for the funeral of a beloved family member who passed very suddenly and unexpectedly. We booked a room in the inn and even called to verify, requesting to be placed near certain family members. We canceled our first night booking, which my parents took over. They stayed in the inn. When we arrived for the second night we were told we were being sent to the "annex" (back alley motel). Not a very nice experience to be price gouged for a motel room when you think you're staying with family in a cozy inn, especially when the singular purpose for your travel was for a funeral. The room in the "annex" was very drafty, cold. We will not stay here again.
Ambiance. Good WiFi.
We had booked a standard room but were pleased to learn upon arrival that the Inn had upgraded us! The dinner we enjoyed was delicious and ample. The breakfast, the same. Perfect location for walking around town. The heating/cooling unit in the room was very loud.
Perfect location for visit to Middlebury College. I asked for one King room with pull out and private bath and we were surprised with two rooms. One had a king bed, shared bathroom and separate room with two single beds. It made for a very comfortable stay for couple traveling with college-bound teen. Shared bathroom locked on each side so we had no issues. Plenty of room and lots of privacy for all. Close to restaurants and all amenities. Highly recommend. Note, we usually don't like Inns but this was big enough that we felt we had lots of space. Thank you. N/A
Manager lied to me and Priceline.com sucks Manager and priceline.com
This was a central location, within easy walking distance to the small downtown area. The pictures when booking all focused on the main building - a historical, sophisticated-looking inn. However, when we arrived we discovered that we were placed in the motel out back, NOT what we had been expecting or wanted. We had been hoping for something more upscale, to say the least. The view out of the small windows was of a narrow alley with trash, rather than the beautiful Green Mountains we had hoped to see. This would have just been a minor inconvenience (for the price, we probably should have expected a less-than-stellar place), but the beds were also very "well-used" (i.e. sunken into the middle), which caused us both to sleep horribly. My husband ended up with a very sore back the next day, putting a damper on our exploration of the area and resulting in a visit to the chiropractor when we returned home. We will NOT be returning to this "inn" for our future visits to Vermont.
The hotel was very accommodating when we required extra time to get checked out. Very helpful staff. Great service at the bar. Rooms were a little warm.
The location was great, just across from the main part of town and fairly close to Middlebury College. Free wifi and plenty of TV channels was a plus. My room was "upgraded" and was up two long flights of stairs. I had to help someone who was struggling with their suitcases because I felt bad she was having such a hard time. I wonder what the standard room would have been like as the beds were uncomforable, the sheets and pad came untucked during the night and bedspread was dated and uncomfortable. I did not get a good night sleep for either of my two night stay. The room was small and nothing fancy, about the same as any other standard room.
Pleasant stay , comfortable ,good breakfast. I really like the outside appearance of the property; it was very attractive and looks Moore like a large home than a commercial building. The white sided building fit in well with New England buildings. The staff was very pleasant, welcoming and smiled a lot.
I ordered a rollaway bed and for the first time EVER in my experience of traveling (and I am a former flight attendant so I've traveled a lot) it was actually in the room when I arrived. I didn't have to ask to have one sent up! Thank you, Marriott! Breakfast was not included in the price of the overnight stay.
Very friendly staff & very accommodating. Room was spacious, clean, private and nice and quiet. Wish the restaurant had more breakfast choices but what was offered was fine and covered all bases.
As advertised clean room and building, friendly staff, easy check in/out. Will return again! Charging $15.99 for in-room movies (that aren't even in HD, by the way) seems a bit harsh. Then again, the room made $5 off of us with their high-speed wifi (at least we had HD Netflix that way).
Clean, pleasant staff Bistro food options could have been better, fresher baked goods
Size of the room Wifi kept cutting out on me in my room 238. The rate I think is to high. I did not need the soaps changed every day and the towels I left on the rack could have stayed instead of replacing. This should be an option.
Location The hours for food/ bar were good Pleasant staff Nothing comes to Mind

The inn was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff were extremely friendly and eager to please. The food in the restaurant was delicious.
It was so beautiful and the food was excellent. Breakfast and dinner both were fantastic. The room was great, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and would love to go back. nothing...
We stayed here with a group of friends and family for our wedding in the Longhouse, which is a separate building across parking lot from main building. Loved the rooms that have been redone (did not see the attached Annex rooms, which have not been completely renovated). Great layout allows for more than 2 people to stay in the room comfortably. (Some had a door from each sleeping area to shared bath; others the sleeping areas were separated by hallway with bath in between.) The Longhouse/Annex building worked out perfectly for our group as we rented 6 of the 8 rooms and had our own little area. There was some comfy lawn furniture where we spend time relaxing on a nice day. Breakfast was great and all staff was super friendly and accommodating. One of our guests had to work remotely and they not only let her check in very early, but offered her free breakfast as it was 9am. Food in the restaurant is superb. Great draft beer selection, extensive bar. The pub area is a great place to hang out as they have a casual indoor & outdoor dining, couches, TV, shuffle board, air hockey, and other games. We were really impressed with some of the small details, like the bathroom fan that works on a motion sensor, thermostat that gives outside temp & weather report. Owners Andrew and Heather were super friendly. Heather made a point to come introduce herself when we were checking out as I had not run into her during our stay. We love it and plan to stay here whenever we are in the Valley. No full length mirrors in the Longhouse. I agree with another reviewer that room could use a second mirror somewhere outside the bathroom. The pub area becomes overrun with children at times (esp during ski season), which is great if you are there as a family but a bit much if you're not.
My husband and I stayed here while visiting Sugarbush. The staff was amazing and made us feel welcome without being overbearing. We had never stayed at a B&B in this area and didn't know what to expect. All I can say is that we can't wait to come back again!
We were arriving on Christmas day so the owner sent us an e-mail about a month before to make sure we had dinner reservations for Christmas dinner. The staff was so welcoming and nice. We want to go back in the summer.
Staff was friendly, location excellent. Breakfast Buffet was outstanding. It is a very old school family vacation spot (though we do not have kids and enjoy it as well). My husband always says it reminds of the place the family stayed in Dirty Dancing. We go every year and love it.
Beautiful setting. HIstoric. Relaxed. They are not rule-obsessed. It is pretty expensive, but they do not nickle and dime you so you feel happy while you are there!
accommodations were very nice. Clean, staff was courteous, helpful....food was very good. Room andgrounds were very pleasant and well kept most activities cost extra...very liitle was included, ie boating, golf, tennis, yoga,
Calm peaceful setting Remote from public transport availability dependant on car for travelling out. Felt the main dining room failed to impress especially with respect ot the main course quality from an international prospective.
Beautiful area. Plenty of activities and overall it seems as thoughthe property was very well run. Some of the rooms and facilities seem dated.
Hike, kayak, sightseeing boat, relax, dine Our room was clean but the wallpaper was peeling, the window air conditioned was loud and the blinds needed to be fixed. The phone did not work properly. The cover over the baseboard heat was off. The Red Barn rest.. Needs updating and cleaning.
