Cons:There was no car available at original picked up location. They called me 30mins before to inform me and moved the location to pick up a different car farther away which cost more money on our end. Has to call and talk to a machine before you can get to operator. 1800 number unable to call pick up location to verify car availability

The counter service was excellent, fast and extremely professional. The interior of the vehicle was dirty. I was not happy with that, everything else was fine.
Cons:Budget would not give me a receipt. Agent said he emailed me the receipt when I dropped off the car. When I called, I got a complete run around of which I pushed to a supervisor, but no supervisor was available to help. Budget is clearly disorganized!
Pros:Staff who helped us in Charlotte was super friendly and the staff at Atlanta were helpful with giving directions/instructions. Car was a decent value.
Cons:My car smelled like cigarettes when we got into it. There had clearly been an effort to reduce this smell but it still lingered throughout the trip. Additionally, the desk was severely understaffed at the time of pickup and it took nearly an hour for us to get our car. It seems a bit unreasonable to have 2 staffers for such a busy time and I'm sure the employees were also unhappy about this.
Cons:Showed up at the rental location in Charlotte to take a car to Atlanta, difficult to find because it had a large Avis sign and a tiny Budget sign in the window. When I went in to get the car they said they didn't have any rental cars. Agent asked if I booked on line and I said yes and they said this happens quite often. I missed my appointment and had to reschedule also had to have my wife drive me to Atlanta and then she had to drive back by herself!!!!! 10 hour round trip. I am furious.
Pros:No problem on pickup in CLT.
Cons:Car was scratched and dented and had chips on windshield. Car felt like it was going to run off the road; very twitchy steering...maybe overinflated tires and suspension problems. There was some trash left in the car. When I dropped the car off I was 5 minutes early. The first attendant wouldn’t move out of the spot I was pulling into til I got within a couple of feet from her. She was busy talking personal stuff with another lady in the car next to mine. After about five minutes the lady drove off. I was thinking that the attendant was going to check in my car but instead she walked past me and went inside without saying a word. So I found another attendant and asked him to check my car in. By the time he got to me, another 5 minutes or so went by. He scanned my car and gave me a receipt. While walking into the rental bldg to pick up another car from Budget, I noticed that he had charged me about $72 for an hour because they checked me in ten minutes late although I was actually 5 minutes early. I went inside and explained this to the agent behind the counter and she said she would remove the extra hour. I prepaid over the phone for the 2nd car I was renting and picking up. It took 50+ minutes for the girl to finally give me the car. Then there was talk about having me pay another security deposit although the phone operator told me she would transfer the deposit I made on the first car. Overall I was extremely furious and disappointed. I called customer service and recited this story to 3 different people including a supervisor; she was not willing to do anything other than apologize. I was so upset.
