Breakfast is very good. Like the relocation of the food and coffee to the parlor on the north side of building. And the bar feature in the north parlor is very good move. Staff are cheerful and very helpful. The overall vibe at the Mansion on Delaware and setting in Buffalo is terrific.
We have stayed with you at the MOD a number of times, including several multi-night visits. I think our first stay goes back roughly 12 years, so we have benefit of various stays of differing durations over time. Overall we like the MOD but the rooms and some of the furnishings are getting stale or worn. The rooms are in need of significant refreshment. Some of the original work just to get the MOD up and running were never quite right, like the electrical utility box exposed in stairwell from second floor to first floor. The bathrooms in the rooms are in need of restoration. There is noticeable grime on calking, which is not the fault or responsibility of housekeepers. Also, the woodworking and molding around the window openings needs to be zero timed if the MOD is going to be promoted as an exclusive destination. In sum, while we very much like the MOD and believe it can be refreshed in a manner that will live up to the original glory of the structure, it appears to us that a little complacency has set in in terms of maintenance and on-going need for renovation. Buffalo is undergoing significant renewal, a factor that is a delight to witness and the MOD restoration was early part of the good work in Buffalo but the property is in danger of falling behind in terms of competitiveness with places like the Curtis Hotel and other properties. We would like the MOD not to become some sort of shabby chic operation, even with delightful staff and we urge you to figure out how to start systematically zero timing your rooms in a way that will not require a complete shut down of the property for an extended period of while allowing the kind of restoration and refreshing of the rooms that is increasingly necessary.
We loved the historic integrity of this building! The bathroom was great with the jetted tub and multihead shower! The rooms themselves could stand a little sprucing up as far as linens chairs and additional furniture items etc. We loved the breakfast items and choices.
The rooms, although historic, we’re a little dated as far as furnishings that were not quite antique but not quite new… Lugging our luggage at the front steps
We had a comfortable bed in a very nice room on the top floor for a one night stay. The staff accommodated our early arrival and found us a room that was ready and the breakfast was wonderful. The hotel offered transportation in the local area. Our driver, Ian, went above and beyond to successfully find us a restaurant serving beef on weck at a late hour.
I would have liked to have had more time there to see more of the hotel and surrounding area but we were only staying for one night.
Breakfast was fabulous, and the shuttle service was great for getting around without our car. We met some interesting people at the Happy Hour.
From the minute you walk in the door you are treated like Royalty. We felt so comfortable, everything was wonderfu,l we were shown our Room, offered a drink and given the run down of the place which was absolutely amazing
To be honest there was nothing that I did not like about this place it's definitely rated a plus plus plus
