Pros: We loved the location. the view and breeze from the harbor were lovely. The staff was very helpful and cheery. we enjoyed the breakfast and visiting with the others when drinking wine with snacks downstairs.
Cons: The water flow in the shower was a little weak, but it worked.
At Blue Lantern Inn, A Four Sisters Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of 1,000 Steps Beach and Mission San Juan Capistrano. Guests can indulge in massages, facials, or body treatments. Rooms at this romantic hotel are done up right with upscale touches like private spa tubs, fireplaces, and jetted tubs.
Cons: Service was ok. Miss the service touches from the St. Regis.
Seemed understaffed at front desk.
Breakfast at Aveo restaurant overpriced and ok, not wow.
Was offered a 'flash sale' upgrade at check in which felt awkward for a luxury hotel.
Putting you within a 10-minute drive of 1,000 Steps Beach, Monarch Beach Resort features a golf course and offers an airport shuttle (available on request) for USD 50 per vehicle. Guests can visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, aromatherapy, or Ayurvedic treatments, and Stonehill Tavern, one of 6 restaurants, serves Californian cuisine and is open for dinner. There are 3 outdoor pools and 4 bars/lounges, and rooms at this exclusive resort offer balconies or patios and deep soaking tubs.
Cons: The cleanliness. The room was not cleaned. The staff were poor and not many spokeEnglish. The room service was very slow. We waited over an hour for breakfast. Thefront of house staff were over-familiar.

Pros: I have religiously stayed at this Laguna Cliff Marriott for close to 20 years . But on several occasions , this last trip was the worst , where your check out experience ruins the wonderful memories of the entire stay . Most customers would never come back , but the reason I keep coming back only to encounter check out nightmares .
For instance . I book my room there through Kyyack who send my reservation and payment on to Expedia , who email me my confirmation number and itenerary for my 2 nights.
Because of a flight councilation by AA.com I am forced to just move my 2 nights forward 1 day and notify both Expedia and the Laguna Cliff's , and they both confirm no problem no change in rates . So at check out my $159.00 all inclusive rate per night had changed a little less than $900 including my payment to Expedia for one night , and because the airlines had lost my luggage and my money and medicines and all my clothes I didn't have sufficient funds to pay the inflated rate and refused to allow me to pay by check even with my bank president on the phone garrateeing available funds . So I had told the manager I had $300 in cash for an emergency , to which she said use your emergency cash or don't leave the property . So I left with $25 dollars to get to San Jose to meet with Ebay and then back to LA for my flight home . I was able to sell my $1200 iPhone for $550 to enable me to have a place to sleep the next night , and in Silicon Valley $550 doesn't get you much of a room . AA.com still has not found my luggage with my billfold medicine , keep in mind I was just recovering for 2 complete hip replacements . So with no money to drive back to LA to turn my car into Hertz and fly home , I was forced to turn my car into Hertz at the San Francisco International Airport which changed my Hotwire rate of $10.95 per day for 6 days into an $895 dollar charge that included the payment I had already paid Hotwire for the entire week . Finally at AA.com's counter I explain I have no options , no money to drive back to LA to fly home and that I pleaded with her to change my ticket at no charge to fly back from San Francisco to home and she reluctantly agreed but only if I took the red eye . I explained I had not eating almost 2 days , she said do you want this deal take it or get out of my line and contact
AA.com/Customer Relationships .
Cons: Resort fee. Valet parking not answering phone. No alternative for overnight parking besides valet of $37/night. No free bottled water for Marriott silver member, nor included in resort fee. No refrigerator. No slippers.
Cons: Extra daily resort fee. No slippers or free bottled water for Marriott member. Valet parking not answering phone. Only valet parking available. Bathroom cabinetry old and worn out. Poor water pressure for shower.
Pros: Beautiful view, great amenities.
Cons: Mattress not as comfortable as you'd expect from a resort of this caliber.
Pros: The location was nice.
Cons: Don't book this room thinking you will be getting the price you see. It will be about $100 more a night than the listed price. There is an extra fee for everything. I am just waiting for the 2 weeks after checkout fee because I am sure it's coming.
Pros: It's a beautiful hotel perfect for weddings and events. I was very happy with the upgrade to an executive suite.
Cons: It's a first come first serve policy for free 2 hour bike rentals but I wish they had more than two smaller bikes out of the several bikes they had.
Pros: Thank you to Nicole at the front desk. Awesome Babymoon.
Pros: I like a customer service. Great service. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! We will come back.
Pros: Very comfortable bed and bedding.
Cons: Bed and view of the harbor.
Pros: I enjoyed the hotel because the location is spectacular and dana harbor is nearby. This is a great weekend getaway because of the numerous shops and restaurants as well as activities that people could enjoy! I love the options of renting kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boarding. People can even go whale watching.
Cons: I wishes the pools were open later, at least till 10:00 pm ( to swim ). I also wish the trees in the park didn't block the view of the harbor, but I suspect that's a city thing. I just remember about 10 years ago a friend of mine married at the hotel. I remembered the spectacular view of the boats sailing in the background . The trees from lantern park block the view now.

Pros: I loved the free breakfast - so many tasty options! I also loved that the bath products are Bath & Body Works. The whole place was very clean and quiet; I really loved staying there.
Cons: There isn't a ton of lighting in the bathroom, so it's a little dark while showering. It's not a problem at all but that's my one minor complaint about the room.
Pros: The rooms are clean, and the staff was terrific. The front desk staff and the house cleaning staff were outstanding.
Cons: A little hard to find. A bigger sign near the road would be helpful.
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean. Nice breakfast.
Cons: We forgot some shoes in the closet on a Thursday. I called the next day to ask if they had been found and they said they did not have them. We had to go that way on Friday and stopped in to ask again. Front desk clerk remembered my call and claimed they were still missing. We asked to talk to housekeeping and she found the shoes for us. Don't give up after one call if you forget something. Also, while they claim to be pet friendly, there is no grassy area for them.
Pros: Nice pool, awesome bed, enjoyed my stay!
Cons: Couldn't take a bath because it was always draining the water :(
Pros: From check-in to check-out this Holiday Inn exceeded my expectations of what I would expect in a hotel. Guri (excuse the misspelling) at the front desk made my check in process and my stay a 5 star experience. Ian on the Night Audit made the evenings and early mornings exceptionally outstanding and comforting. I will always look recommend and stay at this location after this experience. Thank you all for making my stay so enjoyable.
Cons: The location is a bit strange and off the map. But once located, it is easy to find. One recommendation I would make is to communicate when guests have a late checkout. On several occasions I had a 2pm checkout which was approved and verified with management but yet the house keepers walked in at 11:00-1:00pm. Communication is key in situations such as these.
Pros: Close to Camp Pendleton. My son is a Marine!
Close to freeways
Continental breakfast was good
The Smart Choice Among San Clemente CA Hotels. While in San Clemente California a quaint beach-side community nestled in southern Orange County travelers choose to
Cons: Elevator very slow ... traffic noise all night ...
Pros: Free breakfast & coffee
Cons: Physically, the building looked worn
Pros: We had a nice stay here. It was clean and we were very pleased.
Pros: We were grateful that we were given a room which was convenient to our RV that we parked in the hotel parking lot.

Pros: The location is good. The breakfast is good, a lot to chose from. My second day there however, they closed the door 4 mins early and all I wanted was a banana but couldn't get one.
Cons: One of the beds in the room had crumbs when I pulled the the comforter back. The temp is locked so I was cold the whole stay since I couldn't get the heat going. Parking is really limited. I was there for business and checked out at 9:30 am. I left the city at 7pm. Got home and realized I left my keys there. The staff had them yet never attempted to get a hold of me to let me know. That's pretty bad customer service. So I get drive 2 hours each way to go pick them up.
Pros: Really not much to dislike. It was quite, comfortable, close to everything and reasonably priced for the areas.
Cons: The only issue was the jetted tub did not work or hold water the best, which was really a minor nitpick, otherwise it was great.
Pros: Clean room at a good price. Breakfast exceeded expectations!
Pros: The price was nice, I liked that they had a light breakfast but this is about it.
Cons: 1st the 2 beds in our room were so hard we didn't get any sleep. I couldn't wait to get home so I could finally sleep. The beds felt as hard as the table in our room. 2nd the air conditioning in our room was out. I was told because it was humid that day that is why the air conditioner was broken. I was so close to driving home that night we stayed. We drove over an hour to stay here and the other 3 ladies with me didn't want to get in the car and drive home Saturday night. When I asked the front desk about the air conditioner and the bed she pretty much said "oh well". In my mind she made me feel like well I got your money and you can leave if you want.
I would not recommend anyone to stay here.
Pros: The pool was really nice.
Cons: Rooms are not modern. They overbooked on our class of room so we had to go with an "upgrade". It was a two queen room with a gross jetted tub. We would prefer a king with our infant.

Pros: Nice amenities. Beautiful location. Great staff.
Cons: I rated the hotel average as the cleaning was sub par. The plates and silverware at the breakfast were routinely dirty. The towels had stains from previous use. The room itself was clean.

Cons: Ac didnt work it had a portable cooler so it was hot, ants
Pros: great views, good service.
try the sushi place just next door, best sushi ever!!!
Pros: Location was ocean view
Cons: Old Hotel and poor amenities. Staff (an asian couple) made us feel as if they are doing us a favor by letting us stay in the hotel that we paid a fortune for.
This looks like a owner managed hotel where they try to cut costs for everything. Very skimpy on breakfast and they try to manage the breakfast so that you don't eat much.
Pros: The staff was friendly, room was clean and well-appointed. The free continental breakfast was decent. It's right by the beach.
Cons: AC in our room didn't work. No pool. Our ocean view room was actually right next to a the highway and an Amtrak line that woke us up at night.

Guests can enjoy the spa tub, and hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and mountain biking are nearby. Pros: How clean the rooms were & the value for the money
Pros: Breakfast is included. Beds are good enough.
Cons: Almost no water pressure in the shower.... seriously, it's awful.
The room smelled like they just spray Febreeze all over the place instead of opening the window every once in a while.
The breakfast food was mostly good enough, but nacho cheese inside of an omelette? Such a gross surprise.
I was also unplesantly surprised to see that i had to pay $10 a night to park in super tiny spaces.
Cons: Noise from street

Cons: carpet was stained in multiple spots, floor felt greasy
Pros: Closeness to the beach! Housekeeping was good. Pool area is nice too! Rooms are comfy. Location of the Inn is bueno!!
Cons: Rooms are a drab brown lol. Two years in a row been construction...it's not an inconvenience, just not pleasing to the eye ha.
Cons: Old, tired facility. Ants and waterbugs in bedroom. Rude front desk staff. Limited "business center". Pathetic restaurant. $3.50 for a cup of coffee!
Cons: No ocean views
Pros: We cooked, our room was a good space near ammenities, the staff was helpful with all our questions. We had a great stay in San Clemente - take advantage of the beach trail!
Pros: Enjoyed the affordability and the spacious area! Came fully loaded with a kitchen, living room and bedroom has private doors
Pros: Good value. Nice sized room. Wish we could have stayed longer to check out the rest of the facilities!

The restaurant is the perfect spot for a bite to eat, and after having fun at the outdoor pool, you can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. Cons: left at 9:30am, came back at 1:30, room not touched. Left at 2:00 pm returned at midnite, still dirty I'll never stay there again!!!! House keeping sucked.
Pros: This hotel has a good location. The side away from the freeway was quiet. Imagine that the side facing the freeway would be noisy.
Cons: This hotel is difficult to get to because of road construction. That's not the hotel's fault. My room had several drawbacks that would have been easy to fix. I told staff about them, but nobody seemed to care:
1) The computer desk was useless because it had no available electrical outlets. How difficult would it have been to put in a lamp with an electrical outlet in the base?
2) The A/C unit was old, noisy, and difficult to control. It blew out the curtains above it. How difficult would it have been to put in a modern thermostat, and a plastic deflector to keep the curtains in place?
3) The microwave was impossible to use on any setting other than full power.
4) The message light on my phone blinked constantly. How difficult would it have been to supply instructions for how to turn it off?
Pros: location for my needs in this trip to Orange County
Cons: Indifference of staff to several issues. The lights in the hallway to my room were burned out, making for a dark walk to the room. The light over the shower in the bathroom was also burned out. Nothing was done about either issue.
No extra signage to aid in entering the property due to road construction. It was very difficult to figure out how to get to the motel from the road.
Pros: Front desk was fine. Very friendly. But they had a problem giving a room.
Cons: Cleaning guys out side. Very rude and make me uncomfortable. They were not friendly and unwelcoming .
Pros: I loved the spacious room and the clean bathroom. The flat screen tv was a nice touch too
Cons: No complaints

Pros: Has agreat location and the staff is very friendly.
Cons: Very Noisy, We could hear our neighbors on the room above us walking until 3 am and then at 6.30 or 7 people going down the hallway, you can hearing them talk like they are inside the room.
Badly isolated walls.
Pros: The Holiday Inn has everything someone needs for a quick weekend trip. Poo/jacuzzi, big rooms, friendly staff, and the location is perfect for walking into downtown San Clemente.

Pros: My husband and I arrived on the train in San Clemente and walked up to the B and B! Frieda was not home, but gave us the code to get in and was so sorry she was not there to greet us! She volunteers with the senior center and was with them! I love that lady! We got into the house and our room was lovely! The house was so cool, full of treasures from friedas travels! Again, I just adored her! We are vegetarian and she made us special breakfasts! She is an amazing cook! We stayed two days and had an amazing time! The b and b provides, beach towels, chairs, coolers, boogie boards, water bottles, and whatever we needed! Such a great stay!

Pros: It was cute and the location was great for walking to the beach and to the shops
Pros: Location was good. Two blocks away from the main area.
Cons: The place is old and the carpet is a bit gross. We can hear men yelling outside our room. I would stay here if I was literally just passing by... And needed a place to rest my eyes.
When you stay at Patriots Boutique Motel, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Mission San Juan Capistrano. You'll have free perks like WiFi and self parking. A terrace and a garden are offered, and rooms have conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Cons: Usually we stay at Best Western. Now I know why. When we got there we had a cold shower. The manager said he would check the water heater. Woke up the next day and still a cold shower. We had to leave a day early,(not their fault), but they wouldn't reduce the cost one iota. A reason I stay at BEST Western. Don't recommend this place.
Pros: Close to the event I was attending. Has a baseball field across the street great since my team was in town for a baseball tournament.
Cons: A little noisy, Room a had a light smell of smoke even though it was a non smoking room, Parking is tight,
Pros: Good location
Cons: NEVER expected to be given a smoking room without ever giving consent. Gross.
Pros: I got what I paid for.
Pros: This location was near the Casino which were visiting.
Cons: I don't know if it is Kayak or the Days Inn, but we were placed in what may have been the worse room in the building, when the most of the rooms in the hotel were available. Interior Decoration was maybe what you would expect at this price point, but its still pretty bad. Though it didn't bother me too much, we discovered a dead roach in our bathroom the next morning.

Pros: Great location. Comfortable clean living area. We had fun hanging out on the deck.
Cons: Bathroom definitely needed an upgrade and it wouldn't hurt to clean under the mat in the tub once in a while.
Pros: I chose this place because it was close to where I needed to be early the next morning. And because it had a pool and was close to the beach in case I wanted to take a dip. It delivered on all those. The staff was friendly and helpful and the parking lot big enough for me to park my car with trailer while not causing problems for other guests.

Pros: This is an extremely clean and neat hotel. The owners/desk staff are always exceptionally courteous and pleasant. The room was beautiful and welcoming.
Cons: Everything is great!
Pros: Easy access to the freeway
Cons: Very hard beds
Pros: close to the freeway
Cons: the room was very small with bare necessities.
Cons: The room is extremely small, low ceiling, squeeky floors, and smelled horrible when we first arrived.
Cons: by the freeway but I did know that ..
Pros: Easy to find and access from the interstate. Nice view. Quick registration.
Cons: Very poor breakfast, I would hardly call continental.
Pros: No frills. Reasonable cost to get rest. Staff was extremely helpful when asked for assistance with directions and other needs for an extended stay.
Cons: I would skip the morning breakfast. Not a great variety of food is available but then again the daily rates are quite reasonable.
Pros: They were very nice but the room is very minimal.
Basic and affordable. The king suite was spacious comfortable and nicely appointed.
Pros: Convenience and the staff/owners
Cons: Shower was a bit kludgy
Pros: The room was huge and the view was awesome.

Pros: The Staff was really great!! So helpful and courteous at check in.
Cons: Hallways third floor smelled bad. Water damage or something. But the room was lovely
Pros: Love the hotel. Staff was very attentive. Just surprised when I received such a big charge for such a cheap toothbrush. For $200 a night I would have expected it to be free.
Cons: Expensive dollar store toothbrushes.
Pros: The location is across from the beach (although not why we were there) and the staff was nice.
Cons: They have great marketing. Put the beautiful renovated rooms first on the website. Then when someone gets duped into paying $225 A NIGHT, they check in and realize they are getting one of the old, dirty, dilapidated rooms where the AC doesnt work, the mattress is worn and slants inward and there is mold and peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling. Perhaps you should be up front about what room you are getting at booking. Or maybe adjust the price so if you get an unrenovated room it reflects the motel like quality room you are receiving. The staff was nice and the renovated lobby was pretty. No doubt it will be a Hilton quality hotel by the end of the renovations.
Pros: liked the location and staff
Cons: Attention to detail was missing ( fresh cookies on arrival, coffees and toiletries replaced for day 2, room service tray pick up)
Pros: Room was nice for the money, we had a nice view of the ocean. They remodeled the lobby, it looks nice.
Cons: Air conditioning did not work at all., shower door opened out, so you couldn't enter or close bathroom door. Made using the bathroom inconvenient. I'm surprised anyone would approve that.
Cons: I have never written a review, don't usually have time or really notice the little differences between hotels. Well this was an exception....The hotel is under major construction, which was not mentioned anywhere. It was literally drywall and dust everywhere. After the check-in attendant telling me "well we tell everyone who calls in to book a room with us about it, you must have booked with an affiliate" me and my fiance decided to stay anyway. As we waited 7 minutes for the elevator, we started doubting our decision, then we got to the room....no sheets, couch was open, cushions everywhere scattered throughout the room, and the toilet hadn't been flushed. I called the front desk and they said they would bring up keys for another room, as we waited, which took a while, since the elevator wasn't working, a nice employee Irene showed up. But in the meantime we booked a room at another hotel in the area. Well, since our wedding will be in the area in 8 months, we know one hotel that will not be on the recommended list of places to stay.
Pros: Location was very convenient and close to beach
Cons: Room was very noisy ... Hot ... Air conditioner sounded like it was going to blow up
Pros: Location is great! Friendly staff! Good vibes at the rooftop bar and food was good!
Cons: Parking prices are ridiculously high!!! Self park and valet should not be the same price an. Regardless $22 dollars a night is offensive!!
Layout of room was a little awkward with the bathroom being super close to the bed and the shower door almost hitting the bathroom door... Otherwise room was nice!
Pros: We enjoyed how close the hotel was to the beach.

Cons: We actually hated the hotel. It was so noise we had a hard time sleeping. The room was upstairs and no elevator. We had to wake the starf to get breakfast (after the time it was suppose to be available.
Pros: Beds comfortable
Cons: Staff not too friendly
Pros: THe room was clean
Cons: The staff was very, very rude. They made me and mY guest very uncomfortable.
Pros: Friendly staff and clean room. We were pleasantly surprised.
Probably would not return or recommend, even though was not terrible, am now willing to pay more for better.
Pros: Price and location
Cons: Amenities were missing out of room. Internet difficult to connect to. Television impossibly complicated to use. Advertised free breakfast and pet friendly, neither of which is true.
Pros: Friendly service, offered early check in for additional cost.
Cons: Located a little further from the beach and entertainment, than I'd like and was more like a motel 6 than a hotel.
Pros: Location and the ownership. Very cordial and up to date. Answered all of our questions with ease and a smile.
The king size suite has a very comfortable bed and the room was always clean. Will stay again in the future.
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, the room was always clean, loved the new keurig coffee machine and other than the street noise which is to be expected.....it was quiet. This is the second time I have stayed here for these reasons.
Not a bad place they have bright floodlights that are annoying. Not very accommodating the old man is grumpy and mean that watches desk for his son/daughter. Was told better price if I booked a second night direct I did and got same price as on Priceline and it was explained to me owner got more money but I didn't get a discount lol...'..
Pros: Clean nice beds
Cons: Owners are very stingy told me to use kcups two times. My partners stuffed animal was taken from room after departure. I returned the next morning and was told it was not there I am sure it was left there.
As previously mentioned, it's way over priced for what it is. It's essentially a nice motel which should cost around XXX-XXX bucks. Not the XXX I paid
Pros: The room itself was nice and clean. The man who helped us was friendly. It had hot water and was across the street from 7-11
Cons: The location was noisy due to the front of the hotel facing the busy street. It looks like a cheap motel when you pull in and for me, way overpriced but I guess that's what you get for San Clemente
