Can was older, had no way to play music except through aux cord. Radio antennae had been stolen and the van was all dented up. Had a plastic piece hanging off that flapped a lot as we drove. The staff was super friendly and helpful though. However, when I came by to drop off, there was only one employee in the whole establishment, and I waited for 10+ minutes before I even saw her! Again though, the staffer was friendly and helpful.

The car itself was great and clean. There was nothing to complain about the car. My only problem was that when I booked the car online through Kayak, I specifically wanted an 8-seater car and I paid for that selection. Granted it said “8-seat car or something similar” but how is a 7-seater car similar to an 8-seater? It really made our trip difficult… Makes me not want to book through Kayak anymore; enterprise said they couldn’t see the number of seats requested and it only said luxury car.

I rented a car in Olympia, Wa. I drove home to Oregon (about 3.5 hours) and parked the car in the driveway. Two days later I planned to drive the car to an appointment (at 1pm) but noticed a huge oil spot under the car. I called roadside service. They advised me to drive the car to the nearest open Avis (1 hour away). I informed them that I would not be driving a vehicle with no oil that far. After deliberating back-and-forth for quite some time,, the representative finally agreed with me and said she would “schedule” a tow company to pick up the vehicle and send someone to my home with a replacement vehicle. I hadn’t heard from Avis and nobody showed up to pick the vehicle up by 10 o’clock that evening. So I called roadside assistance again to inquire on the ETA. The representative advised me that the roadside tow request had expired, but he would initiate another request. I received a call from the tow company at one in the morning. The dispatch let me know that they would be at my house within an hour and a half. (2:30 am). I let him know. It was way too late to come at that time. He agreed to come the next morning, which he did. I contacted Avis again the next morning and asked them to cancel my request for a vehicle exchange. The representative told me I would be responsible for all charges through the end of my contract, which was going to be four more days. I explained to him that I wanted to cancel the reservation as soon as the tow truck picked up the vehicle. I didn’t feel I was responsible for any additional charges. I made several calls to Avis within 24 hours. At no time was I ever assured that I would not have to pay additional fees for a vehicle. I didn’t have in my possession. In addition to that, I was also told that I may be responsible for the tow fees. I am still waiting on a final charge. This was my first and only experience with Avis. I will not be a returning customer.

Car was filthy inside & out when I picked it up. Picked up at Lakewood, WA location. Guy said they were almost finished vacuuming car. Car was never vacuumed; found toe nail clippings on drivers side, food crumbs all in the back and some kind of liquid stains/splatters all inside of doors. Never ever experienced this with any car rental ever. Drop off was smooth and went super fast!

I took an Uber that cost me $55 and came to pick up the car. They told me they don't have a car available for me and this was a non-refundable booking. And the person helping me wasn't nice about it all. This experience has been both inconvenient and disappointing.

Even though I had a confirmation from Hertz, when I arrived at the location they specified, there was no car. The people who worked there were rude, loud, unhelpful. They told me my best option was to take an Uber 40 mins north to another location ($100 Uber ride). So not use this service! And do not if you can help it try to rent a car from Hertz in Tacoma because a reservation means 0.

I reserved a car through kayak, made plans dependent on that car, then was told an hour before picking up the car that there were no cars available. Never renting a car through Hertz or Kayak again !

I made the reservation for 12 noon on 12/16. We got there at 12:05 and the office closed at 12:00. They would not allow us to rent the car. Your website did not mention that the particular location closed at 12 pm. I should not have been able to make the reservation for 12 since they closed at 12. I was left without a car.

Overall it was fine. Although it was hard to get a hold of a real human when I was having trouble locating the drop off location. The automated message system was annoying to navigate and when I finally got through to an actual human, they didn't know the answer to my questions because they were just a person at some random call center and they had an accent that was hard to understand.
