Cons: We were given the wrong vehicle, and never told that they changed our drop off time. They did make it right at the Airport Budget, but the first one where we got the car was ridiculous. I don't think Mike knew what he was doing. When I called to tell him about the mistakes, he blamed me for arriving before my reservation time.

Pros: I thought offsite was via shuttle, when I got to the airport they said I rented a car 30 minutes away and would need to take a taxi and return it there too. This was not clear.

Cons: I think the problem was with Kayak and then Budget made it worse.
I went online with kayak and put in to rent a car at St. Louis Airport and not just ST. Louis in general. (STL) All car rentals at STL are off site on a nearby road. Being an out of towner I did not know the address of the car rental. I just got on the shuttle at the airport as I always do in St. Louis and it dropped me off at Budget. I was halfway through my processing when the agent tells me that Kayak had the car at a Budget rental in a hotel on the other side of down and not the airport. I was annoyed but I needed the car so I asked if someone could take me there or would I have to take a cab. She told me that it was closed and they were not open on Sundays. I double checked and she was right. THEY ARE NEVER OPEN ON SUNDAYS so why would Kayak book a rental that would be impossible to pick up? Please tell me! Budget told me they would have to start a whole new reservation and I would have to pay $350 more which was just shy of double the price I had procured. I refused to be "robbed" like that and told them I would make other arrangements even if I had to pay that amount I would not pay Kayak or Budget. I quickly got a car with Enterprise who treated me wonderfully and I paid the same price that I was suppose to pay originally. Unfortunately, Enterprise was located 1/2 mile away on the same road and Budget made me carry all my luggage back to the airport to get the Enterprise Shuttle. Did I mention that they passed by the Enterprise Agency on the way back to the airport? Did I mention I was not a raving customer but a quiet but firm one? Did I mention that I was also a 66 year old woman traveling alone to teach a college course and had 4 pieces of very heavy luggage with books that I need for the course? I will mention that I will never rent from Budget or Avis who happens to own Budget.

Cons: When I got to the rental place it was a higher cost and then they overcharged me a fuel fee at the end even though I had filled the tank with gas.

Cons: I reserved a car for a friend and he went to the wrong Budget office and he was told "sorry, take a cab" to the correct place a half hour of driving away. So rude.

"Near Airport" rental was on the other side of tow
Pros: The customer service at the Fiat Dealership/Budget Pickup location was great.
Cons: kayak advertised this as ""near airport" when this location is 30 minutes from the airport on the otherside of town.
The car smelled like cigarettes.

Cons: Your site defaulted to a location in St.Louis that WASNT the airport. Seriously?
It was 20 minutes away from the airport location. Had to pay twice as much on Avis. not a good first experience..

Cons: The final cost was not the confirmed price of the reservation. Counter person attitude was not one would except for customer service. The person did not go over the details of added items and did not want to say why charges were different. It would be nice if someone went over the car with you instead of pointing out were in the lot its located. Finally, it bothers me that there is an hourly charge for each hour not returned on the exact time of pickup. I was charged $21 dollars for forty minutes of being so-called late in return even though the return time was printed on the paper work which turned out was the time I thought I would have had the car back.

Cons: No power seat seats was uncomfortable when you drive for long period of time
Pros: I had to move up the pickup time a day earlier and was able to do so without any problem. The big surprise was that the price even went down!

St Louis office needs help
Pros: Car had a nice large trunk. Reasonable gas mileage.
Judy in the Hertz billing office was able to adjust my bill to the agreed upon KAYAK rate after I returned the car. Thank you, Judy. (See next box for complaint)
Cons: Pickup experience in St Louis was dreadful. I had a new agent who was inexperienced and couldn't figure out how to give me the rate on my KAYAK reservation, and the location manager didn't respond to her requests for assistance. We were running late and needed a car, so she rented me a car at a "walk up" rate which was about $200 more than I had been quoted.

Worst Car Rental Ever
Cons: I rented with Hertz through Kayak. I asked for rental at St. Louis Airport. The car was not at airport. They wanted to charge us an extra $200. We took Uber to actual site. A car was not ready. They washed a car for us to take. They hassled us about "add ons".

Pros: When I submitted my order it changed my location so when I went to pick up it was wrong. Thank goodness they were able to fix it.
Cons: The over charges for not staying in the area. I could have driven as many miles in St. Louis and been charged less. Ridiculous !

slow check in
Cons: Check in took too long, over 40 minutes for a confirmed reservation and I was only customer when I walked in. Staff tried hard to sell me multiple insurances. At turn in location, computers were down.

Cons: There was no call to confirm the reservation 24 hours before which would have saved a lot of hassle. When my mom called to ask about the pickup they had already cancelled the reservation. When she made a new one she made it clear she was picking it up for me and that another driver was involved. They did not mention 1) that there was a fee for another driver and most importantly 2) that the other driver had to be there. If someone says they're picking the car up for their daughter and their daughter can't come and you know the daughter has to be there you should say on the phone before the person comes into your store "Your daughter has to be here." They didn't. My mom went to the store and had to wait at the store for 3 hours because her ride had gone to work. Absolutely horrific customer service.
The car itself was pretty mediocre. There was no cruise control which I honestly though came pretty standard on almost every car made within the last 20 years. Other than that there was nothing wrong with it and nothing great about it which is alright since it's just a rental car.
Mainly just be very upfront when people call on the phone with tricky situations rather than making them come in and sit at your store for hours.

Cons: Had to wait for almost 2 hours to get my car. Some of the wait was standing outisde in the heat and humidity. Very unpleasant experience.
