Customer service at counter is slow

I was told I could drop off my vehicle at 9PM—24 hours after my pickup—at a location close to where I was staying in D.C. I arrived at that location to find that it was closed, and did not allow after-hours drop-offs. I called Budget to ask what I could do. I was told I could drop off the car at the airport the next morning at 7am!! When I explained why that wouldn’t be possible (would require paying $60 to get an Uber home, was NOT what I agreed to, and impossible due to my work schedule), the representative HUNG UP ON ME. I called back, was told the same thing, and finally was told that I could drive the car back to my apartment (where I would have to pay for overnight parking), bring it back the following day (which meant taking time off of work), and, in the case that anything were to happen to the car overnight, I would be charged for all damages. For the record, I originally was comfortable leaving the car at the location with the keys inside, but the fine print of my rental contract says that in that situation, if the car is stolen, I am liable. All of this, because I was told I could drop off my rental at a location that does not do evening drop-offs. You people are morons.

We waited in line for an hour and a half at the pickup location. It was ridiculous. The car had lots of hard water spots on the windshields and mirrors making it difficult to see.

Vehicle was not ready. Waited 1.5 hrs to get to counter. Vehicle had not been cleaned well, smelled of Marijuana and burn holes in seats.

Took 30 minutes for car to be ready after standing in line for 25 minutes. Car was filthy and reeked of smoke… so much so that I only used car to get to my destination and back. Otherwise I Ubered to avoid being in the stinky car.

Car itself was brand new and rental price was very reasonable. Pickup was disorganized, waited for almost an hour in a line of 20 people at 10pm. Drop off took less than 5 minutes. Overall good but tough to begin a trip after a long day of travel.

I liked: Customer service agent at check in. He was kind and personable. I liked my vehicle. Opportunities for improvement: I ordered an intermediate sized car and got a Toyota Prius. Surprised that a little Prius was considered intermediate. It was still a fine vehicle though and I had no issues

Took way too long at the counter as attendant had trouble reading my info. We were told only one car on our row , but there were two when we went out there. attendant finally came and told us it was our choice which one we could take, which we were not told at the counter. When leaving to check out we noticed the fuel was only7/8 full. The attendant noted it on their check out. We brought it back full but have not seen a refund as of yet.

I filled the tank at my destination, returned the vehicle (less than 30 mi drive) and they hit me with a $17 "fuel service fee". The cost for my rental turned out to be nearly $30 higher than the cost on your website. I also stood at the counter for about 15 minutes with my credit card in the reader waiting for Budget to run the transaction. I will never use them again.
