A Journey for my journey
Pros: Vehicle was relatively clean and smoke free. Comfortable, good extras: gps, keyless ignition. Overall good ride.
Cons: Not the type of vehicle I requested. Was given a Dodge Journey had requested a sub-compact. I did not intend spending much time driving so a bigger vehicle was unnecessary. But, the Journey was all that was available(?). Less than good gas mileage. Overall costs of the rental wasn't bad, but when you add in the taxes, surcharges, airport fees it starts to get exorbitant.

USE A DEBIT CARD AND GET A CREDIT CHECK?!
Pros: I made a reservation to rent a car to drive myself from South Carolina to Boston, Ma. I had a rough week and just needed to get home. I was subject to fraud and had my credit card shut down, so all I had was my debit card.
To make a long story short, my credit is bad and was rejected. Not to mention the embarrassment felt in public, I was stranded.
I think this policy should be rethought and reworked. I had plenty of money to cover the rental plus any extra hold associated with using a debit card.
Your potential customer is now vehemently opposed to ever using your services again.

Cons: Only issue was the particular car was not super quality, but I guess I got what I paid for.

The vehicle was brand new it had 100 miles on it.
Pros: We like the fast pick up and drop off.

Easy and quick to rent - Brand new vehicle selections
Pros: We were given an upgrade (with a small cost) for a brand new 2017 Pathfinder. Car literally had 250 miles on it and smelt new. Overall ease to access the rental car area and lot was perfect. Literally walk right at the door at MYR and into the rental car building. Out the side door to a lot full of cars. Easy to get out of the rental car lot and airport. Staff were helpful and pleasant to deal with.
Cons: The only negative with Nissan rentals is the CVT. Not a huge fan of these transmissions.
Pros: No waiting, no hassle, 15 minutes from our condo.

Cons: We saw a few tiny ants crawling on the Dash of the car while we were in transit. When we reached our destination they were all over in the door frames and the front end of the car.

Pros: CAR WAS LOUD. SICK HOOKUP BECAUSE OF MY KAYAK RESERVSTION. OTHER LOSERS HAD TO WAIT.

Nasty, incompetent assistant
Cons: We waited in line to pick up our reservation for an hour while two associates sat in the back chatting and eating. There was a problem with our reservation and the associate had no remorse for basically stranding me. When I asked what my options were, she said "I don't know try somewhere else". If it wasn't for another person in line we overheard, a half hour before, who had the same problem and that associate helping him we would have never been able to leave Myrtle Beach. When we arrived at the new Budget location on a whim, and were successful, we retold our story to that clerk and he actually knew which associate we were speaking about, just from the story we told. So Myrtle Beach Airport Budget, you DEFINITELY need to fire the foreign lady with straight thin red/brown hair and eyebrows drawn on so horribly high they look like black rainbows.

Cons: When I drop the car off they were unable to process my check due to Jacksonville writing the incorrect mileage down before I left. This caused me to have to go inside the building and see an agent. Once I got in the building I only have one customer in front of me. From what I could gather she was there looking for more information on the entire area of Myrtle Beach from restaurants hotels etc. It took at least 30 minutes for them to figure this all out upon checkout.. I am extremely disappointed with budget overall
Pros: The vehicle had a few scrapes on the outside and the seats had stains and a burn hole

Lied about prepay gas "deal"
Cons: I was told that no matter how much gas I had in my tank when returning they would credit my account on a pro rate bases. So you paid for a full tank, but if you came back 1/4 full they gave you a 1/4 of your money back. I returned with 3/8 and they said "sorry has to be half or all full to receive any type of credit" It is a scam!

Pros: Very clean
Cons: Charged for GPS in error. Charged airport fees that I did not know about. Charged for two extra hours I did not know about. I will never use Payless again! Booked for $151 - paid $284.

Pros: Representative at the Myrtle Beach airport was very friendly and welcoming. I can't think of anything negative to mention with the rental from booking to drop-off. Car was excellent. Great experience all around!

Inspect your car!
Pros: The people at Payless were very friendly and helpful, but...
Cons: The car had a blowout on the highway due to completely bald tires. there is no way this car should have gone out the door. It was a serious safety issue. I regret not looking first and demanding a different car. Don't do what I did.

Not a good experience
Pros: From start to finish very poor experience.
When we picked up the car they just handed us keys and said it is parked out on that side of the parking lot. Ok so no big deal we can find the car. However when we did find the car there was nobody with us to inspect which apparently they don't care because when we returned it nobody even looked at. That brings me to the first real problem and that is the car was nasty. It was a 2014/15 impala with 30k miles on it. It should be in decent shape but this one was bad. The smell was terrible, it had cigarette burns everywhere. The back passenger door was missing the handle in the inside to open so all weekend I had to let my daughter out of the back seat. It had scratches and dents all over it as well. Ok so it's just a car we drove it for a week and then returned it. When I brought the car back the girl was trying to tellme I rented from budget not them because she couldn't find me In the system. I told her no I rented from you guys on Friday matter of fact she was the one that helped me. After 15 minutes she finally found me then handed me a piece a paper and said thanks. No signature no questions nothing ? See ya by! Ok so I will probably rent from a more repututable company in the future even if it's more money

Pros: Was told at the desk that they don't accept reservations within 24 hours, although I was allowed to make a reservation. There was no car for me accept a larger one for $60 more. Unacceptable. Seated stained. Car not clean. Only one empire working, long line.
Cons: Representative was polite and tried to work with the situation.

Cons: The fact that despite having a reservation, no car was available, and that the counter representative was rude and combatative.

Cons: I arrived to the airport where they told me their policy "changed" and I could no longer use a debit card to rent the car. They suggested I go to a car rental about 10 minutes away, so I had to take an Uber to the other location where I waited for two hours for a car to become available until they claimed they couldn't get my SS number to work for the credit check. I ended up not being able to rent a car, and spending $30 on Ubers to drive me around to car rental places and eventually back home.
