Dollar, Makes no Sense...Pros: Not a damn thingCons: I booked this on 3/8 for the 5/12-5-15 trip. I was told it was good to go. Lies. Dollar and Kayak never disclosed that if you where going to use a debit card, you must pass a credit check. My credit is a bit low, but I had the money in my account and had budgeted not only for the cost of the rental, but a $300 deposit. So after I was told, 800+ Miles from home, A few hours from reuniting my wife with her daughter who she had not seen in 12 years.. that Dollar was not going to provide me a car unless I could provide a credit card (That I don't have), I went to Avis, paid more, got a car and got customer service that cared and worked for me.. AND it was a $200 deposit. So even though I paid more, in the end, I got a car, made the trip and my wife was with her daughter for not only Mothers day, but for her HS Graduation. When Dollar failed, Avis came through for us. I will never use Dollar, no Kayak again and this is being shared far and wide.

Dollar C/S errorCons: Spoke to Dollar Rental C/S. I had questions on model of vehicle. A woman who ID herself as "Cee" advised, I would be issued a midsize vehicle. She asked to book the reservation which I did. I told her the reservation was from 5th April to 17th. When I arrived my reservation was for the 6th April to the 17th. Dollar could not accommodate me and I had to hire a taxi which cost $50.00. In receiving my rental on the 6th I was issued a compact. Recommendation: Don't out source to foreign countries that can't speak the English language. Bill
Cons: We registered online and received a confirmation number. Arrived at Enterprise on a Thursday only to find out that we did not have a car reserved but were placed on a waiting list, 11th in line on the list and wouldn't have a car available for us until Monday afternoon or Tues. If there are no cars available, the website should not reserve vehicles they do not have! We ended up going to a dealership and buying a car. So frustrating!!!

Alamo representative said we could keep the car but the cost would go from $98.00 to $340.00. Not Vehicle PromisedCons: Taking large group on trip. Reserved a Chevy Tahoe or similar vehicle. Upon arrival, they had a Ford Flex waiting on me and advised it was similar in size. Had no room for luggage if all the seats were used. Had to cancel reservation. Very disappointed that Budget would try to pass off a Flex as an equivalent to a Tahoe.
Cons: No one was there when I showed up, so it would have been better if someone were working when I showed up to get the car.

Pros: Friendly and helpful staff a Hertz location at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport.Cons: This car rental was similar to two other car rentals I have experienced in Wichita during the past two months. Enterprise, Avis and Hertz all promised a minivan or large suv. Enterprise cancelled on me one day before I needed the rental, telling me two renters had not returned vehicles. Avis and Hertz only had smaller capacity vehicles available. It seems there exists a bait-and-switch approach to car rentals in Wichita, Kansas.

Cons: Awful location for a car rental business. Tiny office/ waiting room; barest bones imaginable. First offered minivan was a Toyota Siena stripper in poor shape. Lots of dings, rubs, scratches, scrapes, even front plastic fascia was detached near the left headlight indicating some kind of contact. Worst part: vehicle didn’t have a remote key fob. Swapped for a 2018 Dodge Caravan GT. Even though vehicle was on the lot, it wasn’t rental ready. Empty bottles and trash. They quickly took it to the back to clean it up while I waited. Because the guys that man the counter are the same guys that do the garage stuff, they are woefully undermanned. Operating on a shoestring? Eventually vehicle was presented. Still had miscellaneous garbage in it. While driving it home to load up in the drizzle I discovered the rear wiper was malfunctioning; it had been twisted 180 degrees so it wiped the body below the window instead of the glass. I returned it. Did I mention the lousy location? Only one way to access their location; if you make turn down the wrong street, even with their lot in sight, there’s no way to get there because of one way strays, closed gates, etc. You have to retrace your route to start again. I had to go in into the office. A guy came out to the car with. with me. They flipped the wiper arm over. I didn’t have time to quibble. I took it as is. I got it home in the driveway to load up. Noticed front tire and rear tires were not same brand and relatively worn, and all air stems were missing their twist on caps. Oh well. During the trip I had to use wipers almost the entire time. Yep, you guessed it. Noisy chattering drove everyone crazy. On Thanksgiving Day, in a small town I found an auto parts store. Bought and installed new wiper blades on my rental. Fixed it! Good clean and silent wipers for the first time in four days. Also bought some window wipes to clean up the filthy front and rear window interiors. At least the car worked well. I’m in the process of having Avis reimbursement me for the wipers. Bottom line: Avis corporate needs to do a better job protecting their brand. The location I used was no better than “Economy Motors” not something I expected from Avis.

Cons: The minivan was absolutely the dirtiest car I have ever rented. there were water bottles, applesauce cups, cookies, wrappers and general filth inside. I would have returned it when I got home but we leaving town right away. when I brought it to the kid at the desk at my return he had no apologies or anything to say.
