Reserved a car and no car -- missed a wedding because of it
Cons: I rented a car online in advance. Flew into Atlanta on Saturday morning, made my way to the Hilton location -- no car. They sent me back to airport, where they also didn't have any cars. Other counters also didn't have cars. So, I missed a wedding. I MADE a reservation!!!! What IS a reservation????? So a $400 plane ticket to MISS wedding. Unbelievable.
Totally beyond angry. First time I rented a car with Hertz. Will never do again. Have a corporate account that we are looking to change -- definitely not going to be Hertz.
And, your customer service desk is closed on Saturdays, so no help from anyone. Plus, in trying to call back to the Hilton once I got to the airport and they didn't have any either, the Hilton line wasn't picking up. It just rang and rang. The people at the airport couldn't get an answer either. Got the regional manager's number from the airport folks -- he didn't pick up either.
Again, what is a reservation? My understanding is that you have reserved a car. Person at the desk told me that is not true. Just that you WANT a car reserved. Is this true? Crazy!!!! If not true, you need to retrain your people.

Pros: I was called at 4:45pm when I was supposed to pick up the car the next morning at 9am to be told that the car I had reserved was not available for me. The rep was very helpful and tried everything she could to get something comparable. My experience was not the best, however, the representatives who assisted in finding a solution was great!!! I'm very disappointed that the reservation was mixed up and the 800 number I called would not help, I didn't get the rep's name but she didn't want to take responsibility for the error. I've rented with Hertz and would like to continue renting in the future.

Cons: Prepaid for the first time because of great price! This was a hotel location 2.5 miles from the airport. They did not have any cars and did nothing to help us as we were stranded! I had to prompt them for solutions and even look up numbers for different Hertz locations to see if they had cars...not knowing how we would get there (more money) to retrieve the car. Eventually we headed back to airport to take Marta to a different agency (not Hertz). Hours wasted...Hopefully will be refunded soon.

Cons: My assistant made an error and booked my auto at an offsite ATL location. Realized it at the counter. Fare was super low. I was told only cars were the elites by the counter staff. Kiosk staff charged over 100 per, excluding the airport fees. My projected fee went from around 50 to over 200. I was told they didn't have cars and that was why. Plenty down stairs. Shame on Hertz. Took advantage of a loyal customer. Former loyal customer.

Pros: The car was very nice. It seemed like a newer vehicle. Also very spacious.
Cons: I was charged $100 for gas which is ridiculous in itself but I was charged for gas when the car was returned on FULL. Mistake that is annoying to me because I have to go back and forth for a refund. Hopefully this is resolved with some sort of compensation for my trouble.

Waiting too long
Cons: I waited over 40 minutes for an employee to come to the desk and help me. After getting the vehicle, the experience was good.

it took over 2 hours to get our car
Cons: It took over 2 hours to get our car. they did not have a car ready even though I reserved over a month in advance. no one seemed apologetic or to care that we were waiting upon arrival

Pros: Quick, no line, was upgraded to a larger car for no extra cost.
Cons: The rental location was slightly difficulty to find. They could use better signage at the hotel to direct you to the Hertz counter.
