Pros: The car was nice.Cons: The car was dirty. The lady at pickup was asleep in the back when I was waiting to get my car. The drop off site didn’t have my information and was unable to locate my rental agreement in their computer. I will take some responsibility for this because I lost my rental agreement.

Then the branch opened and they called to say they did not have a minivan and did not provide me with any other option. Budget at the airport was greatPros: Very fast friendly serviceCons: Nothing, everything was excellent
Cons: There wasn't anything wrong with the service I got from Thrifty. The poor rating was intended for Kayak. Through this service I was able to reserve a vehicle that wasn't available. I don't know anyone that has nothing better to do than waste precious time online and on the road in an effort to find creative new ways to waste more of their time. Thank you Kayak for making just a tiny part of my life a complete waste. After all, I'm gonna live forever, right...

Pros: Staff is always friendly and helpfulCons: I dont like how whenever you get a suppliers choice vehicle they give you the smallest vehicle possible. I understand its a gamble but as a renter you want to try out nice cars at a decent price. I feel like this is just a way to cut cost so I won't be using that option anymore. The price was amazing but my husband an I are not twigs and the Ford Fiesta was good on gas but the tank is small and the car barley fit us and our luggage.

Pros: The vehicle was well maintained.Cons: Service person at checkout was a little rude.
Pros: Provided a vehicle.Cons: Reserved a Mazda because we are considering purchasing one. Great opportunity to "test drive" for a couple of days. Staff upgraded us to a larger full sized Ford. Had been helping a relative move to a rural area of South Carolina and was unable to park his truck and trailer at car rental counter. Knew we would have to drop off my spouse to pick up the rental so reserved with her credit card. I waited in cell phone parking area of airport and included my DL and insurance info along with her, but agent would not add me as additional driver. So, less experienced, nervous operator got stuck with all the driving in Charleston for 2 days. She was NOT a happy camper!

Individual would simply get up and walk off, with me having no idea what was going on. Check in took an extensive amount of time. I asked about entering my rewards number and received no response and no entering of said number. Guy walks outside, no idea where he’s going and stands beside a car (I assumed it was my rental). Was rushing us, even though there wasn't another customer waiting. Offered us option for gas that was different than the price listed on the counter. When I questioned the receipt was charging us more than the price listed on the counter, she appeared perturbed and stated curtly, that I'd be saving a "whole dollar"

Pros: I liked that the lot was right outside the door of the airport (no shuttle needed). I liked the actual vehicle (Jeep Renegade).Cons: The directions on my Kayak rental print out had a much lower price for the week ($178) and stated that it was off-location and I would need a shuttle. I went up to the Dollar rep and showed her my reservation and she said this was the place and did not know why Kayak had that written on there. The price ended up being $360 something. Very deceiving!
Cons: There were no cars available for the time my reservation was for. They told me I had to wait an hour to receive a car. The service lady was pretty rude, too.

Pros: Drop off was quick and easy.Cons: Augusta pick up location was understaffed, the one agent was doing her best to take care of customers. Paid Extra for a Round Trip ReturnCons: I paid a premium to drop a vehicle off at a different location than I picked it up at ($122 for a one day rental). The vehicle was a crappy Kia Rio that had a super low and uncomfortable passenger seat (my husband is 6'5" and couldn't see over the dash...) Here's the kicker.. I ended up driving the EXACT same car back for the return part of my trip... dropping the car at the original pick up location. So, essentially, I paid a premium to drive a crappy car for Avis back to it's original location. The car also smelled like smoke.

Simple and EasyPros: The entire process is pretty easy. Just remember that the Avis counter is now with Budget instead of the Avis counter.Cons: Be careful about the insurance coverage through Kayak. That's not Avis' coverage but Kayak. If you have any problems, you have to go through Kayak not Avis. Luckily this didn't happen to us but it's good to know before spending the extra money.
Pros: The car was clean and ready.Cons: At pick up I did ask if we could add one hour to our end time and the agent said it would add another days charge. I thought that seemed odd as we picked up at 7am and planned to drop it off originally the next day at 3pm. Later I called and a different agent allowed the extension without additional charges. As a customer I find it frustrating when you get two different answers to the same question.

While the downtown area of Augusta is walkable and there is access to public transportation, much of the attraction to the city comes from the draw of the Master’s Tournament and, more broadly, Augusta National Golf Course. Opting for an Augusta car rental will allow you to easily go between your hotel, the course, and restaurants, even providing access to outdoor recreation areas in the more rural regions of the city. During periods when events are hosted in Augusta, rentals may also be a cost-effective option compared to taxis and rideshares, as prices typically surge during these times.
There are several car rental companies at the Augusta Regional Airport (AGS), including Enterprise, Hertz, Avis, Budget, National, Thrifty, and Payless. Travelers who have opted for a car rental in Augusta, and who are picking up their vehicles at the airport, will want to exit the terminal from baggage claim and head directly across the street to the Rental Car Ready / Return area, which sits between Lot D Short-Term Parking and Lot A Long-Term Parking.
The city of Augusta is easy to navigate and the roadways are simple to drive. Since there are several points of interest near the Olde Towne and downtown districts, such as the Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson and the Augusta Museum of History, numerous pedestrians are wandering the space at any given time. Drivers are encouraged to keep an eye out for people crossing streets, even in places where there is no formal crosswalk.
The weather in Augusta is hot in the summer and temperate in the winter, making snow and ice a non-issue for drivers in the city. However, if you've opted for a car rental in Augusta during the summer—specifically sometime during June through August—you'll want to keep an eye on the weather as this is the rainy season. Ensure the windshield whippers are in working order and, if driving a convertible, check the forecast before putting the top down. While in Augusta for the week-long Master’s Tournament, you’ll want to plan your commute to the course carefully to avoid traffic before and after rounds. Otherwise, Augusta is considered one of the least traffic-laden cities in the state, practically unaffected by traditional rush hours.
