When I reserved the car I picked the atlanta airport because it had more options and was cheaper. However, what they didn’t tell me was that there was no place to park and i would have had to pay the airport parking rates of $14-16/day. I had the vehicle for 2 weeks so any amount i would have saved was lost. I was not going to drive back to my home 1.5 hours to then schedule a shuttle. I ended up parking at a colleagues friends house 30 min away and having to take an uber. It was very inconvenient and I wish I would have known. The return was worse because I had 3 kids to drop off at airport and then get back to my car. Other than that the car was great, thr rate was great… thr atlanta staff at pickup were rude and wanted me to give another credit card because they didn’t want to call the issuer to verify funds and told me i would be inconveniencing others so Inshould just come up with another credit card.

Personal thank you to Duitar (I am almost positive I spelled his name wrong). He was at the National counter. Anyway, he worked to ensure that I had the best deal possible and considering how busy they were, he made the process feel efficient. Once we went into the garage, I took a moment to stand in front of the fan to get some air and a guy came over to direct us to a car eliminating the need to go to the desk. So all in all, great experience. Thank you!

Pick up and drop off was really simple and quick which was great. However, after ordering an SUV and being told when I arrived: “All we got is minivans” was a bit of a disappointment. Just glad that I didn’t spend a bit of extra money and go for a more premium vehicle as I would have been extremely disappointed. Does make me think about using another car rental provider in the US in the future.

However, I went to Customer Service on my car return and Customer Service Agent Micaela refunded the additional amount I was charged after seeing the original quote I had been given. Our car broke down halfway through the trip and we had the worst experience getting a replacement car. Tow company took 2 hours to retrieve our car and the customer service reps at the nearby enterprise counter were super unhelpful in getting us a new car.

The dates were completely wrong in my rental, but they canceled the reservation automatically. I called them to check that I wasn’t charged for I car I couldn’t use, since I was abroad those dates, and they were very nice about it. Thank you very much!

The only issue I encountered at all was the fact that the airport didn't have great signage to help guide you to the rental car area. Once I got there it was quick and painless and they gave me a free upgrade to a larger vehicle.

The SUV was dirty and there were leftover items in the SUV (an eyelash, water bottle, broken glass on the passenger side door, and an eye glass case). It obviously wasn't cleaned after the last person used it which is unacceptable and unsanitary, especially during COVID.

I leased a one day car and we had to wait two hours to locate a car. I understand that your supply is short and I hate that you have been blamed for the long waits and lack of cars which I personally can’t blame you for. My thanks to the ladies on the front desk in Atlanta, they were very courteous in the face of these obstacles. They need some form of recognition for their service. The lady in Birmingham was also very courteous also and made the return easy.

Had to wait 1.5 hours to get a car after checking in at the desk, after a 45 min wait to get to the desk in the first place. Nowhere to sit, nothing to eat, but had to stay there the whole time as no clarity on when a car would eventually be available. Car eventually provided was a very nice upgrade which was an unexpected surprise, but overall would have just preferred a smooth pickup experience!

I arrived after a redeye flight to the Atlanta airport rental car location. I made my reservation the day before and the agent canceled my reservation right in front of me because he said he had no cars for me and that if I had made the reservation the day before they would not honor it. There was not a single rental car in the entire Atlanta airport that was available. I had a very important meeting 150 miles away that I was planning to drive to, and I had to then book a $1100 airplane ticket for my son and me to fly that 150 miles to Birmingham. It was quite possibly the most frustrating rental car experience I have ever had. I spent crazy amounts of money to get to Birmingham because there was not a rental car. I am super frustrated.

I was having a TERRIBLE experience with SouthWest after a 3 1/2 hour delay in chicago that caused me to miss my connecting flight and left me stranded in Atlanta with no help from the airline who had me stuck there for an additional 10 hour delay (a mere two hours away from home) with nowhere to stay for the night. Kame saw that I was struggling emotionally while standing in line for a rental and asked if I needed help. I explained I had been traveling since 1am (it was 8pm) and was 2 hours away from home but none of the car rentals were doing one way, so Kame helped me get a car so I could finally get home at 1am the next day rather than 4am or later.

Ridiculous service, i rented cars many times in the US. Now at the advantex desk i was asked for a “international drivers licence” I said i never had to present that. But she couldn’t care. I stepped 5 steps to the right and found myself in front of the Alamo desk and luckily they had a car for me without an International license as do all the other rental companies. In 30 years of traveling i never ever experienced such a rude employee at the desk

They counter was closed at 1207, after I called ahead and said my flight was delayed. So I didn’t receive my rental in the next morning, had to reserve a second hotel and pay two hefty Urbers. I reserved a midsize vehicle, for one person. They gave me a mini van. But the van clean.

No one at desk, we waited 15 min while a nearby rental agency came to help. No sign was put up to tell us where to go. He looked around & found one behind the counter telling us to go to the rental garage & find a neighboring company’s return desk. Car was fine, rate was decent, staff were overworked but friendly. Seems like staffing issues. Will likely rent with one of the larger companies that had staff at their desk next time.

So it would be extremely helpful if people knew exactly what kind of deposit was expected from the rental car dealership. I had to pay a 250$ deposit but I budgeted 200$. So us know before booking the rental what deposit is required for that specific merchant

Was not able to pick up the car - had to make other arrangements. Waited in line for more than 2 hours and did not progress even half way to the front of the line. Those who did make the front of the line had to wait "more than and Hour" to actually be given keys. I will never use Kayak or Dollar again (and neither will my company) since not only this service but I had no ability to cancel the reservation as the kayak system was unresponsive to the request. HORRIBLE SERVICE AND WORST SUPPORT OR RESOLUTION - I RECOMMEND THAT NO ONE USE DOLLAR OR KAYAK This is not my first experience since Dollar and Thrifty are in a common reservations line - I will avoid both and Kayak at all costs - three horrible organizations that deserve each other.

The car was clean and seemed well maintained. I liked that the pickup & drop off were accessible using airport transportation. The employee that checked us in was not clear about what the insurance was on the vehicle. When I said "excuse me" to what they were saying, the just repeated the options: minimum, optional (I can'tremember what they were). I couldn't understand them well so I just said minimum. I had already bought insurance when I booked with priceline, so I paid twice. Also, I paid through priceline when booking, but was charged again by Thrifty when I returned the car.

I had a contract with you for a Ford Fiesta or similar car, with 4 doors. Thrifty didn't have any of those and said they would give me a Smart Car, with 2 doors. That's not a "similar" car to a Ford Fiesta. They would not offer a lower cost rental. They gave me two options: 1) full refund - leaving me to figure out something somewhere else 2) pay for an upgrade, which I agreed to rather than go hunting for another rental car. I think this was deceptive trade, and that Thrifty was unfairly charging me for something I didn't ask for. If they can't deliver on the contract they have with you or me, then should provide the next available class above that at no charge. That's what any reasonable person would do in this situation. The people at each end were great. The car was terrible. One of the most uncomfortable cars I have ever rented. I had to change my drop off location due to a family emergency and customer service on the phone was terrible. I was given the run around. They told me to call the local counter and provided the same number back to the call center 3 times. I was already stressed having to go home unexpectedly and they just made it worse.

I made a reservation. When I arrived, Thrifty had the longest line (at least 25 people) ...with others standing/waiting on the side. One of the staff members stepped out and addresses everyone in line to inform us that there would be a 2 hour wait to receive a car once you fulfilled your reservation. I kindly slipped out of line and went to Alamo instead. Barely any waiting and they had me in a car in about 5-10 min (including tome standing in line).

Couldn’t even get a car because the line had 100 people and the manager told us that once we were processed with our reservation, it would be an additional two hours before we received our car. So that would have been a four hour wait for a car with two young children. Walked right over to Hertz and got a car right away. Do not book with Thrifty at the ATL airport!

The representative at the front desk (inside office) was very courteous and upgraded my car because there were none available at one of the pick up areas. Other than that I can’t think of anything.My first car was barely clean on the outside, wheel was shaking at 60+ mph, returned car and was charged a full tank of gas when the I barely used 1/4 of a tank. Service was mediocre at best. Never renting from this company again! Manager did not include in the notes why I returned car.

They are dishonest and do not even tell you the whole truth when renting the car. The girl told me $20 for unlimited gas but never specify that it was $20 per day. They do not tell you how much gas cost to fill up and will send an email receipt instead of telling you the cost up front and deposits.

The company is located off site from the rental car location. It took me nearly an hour to pick the car up since after calling them several times no one was picking up the phone for a shuttle that will bring you to off site. Very poor customer service, when me and other customers brought phone, and shuttle issues to them, they were very rude to respond. I will never rent from them in future.

The $350 deposit seemed steep but it’s just a deosit that’ll be refunded, right?? WRONG!! I dropped the rented vehicle off 2 weeks ago and I STILL haven’t been refunded the deposit. When I called last week to inquire about the issue, I was out on hold for 10 minutes then the young lady came back to say “I don’t know why that hasn’t been refunded but I’m going to print this out and give it to my manager. He’ll call you back later today”. I waited for hours, no call. When I called back, the line rang and rang but no one answered. This went on for an entire week. When I tried again earlier this week, another young lady said all refunds had to go through the corporate office in Canada so she gave me a different number. When you cal that number, the automated prompt tells you to send an email. Here I am, 48 hours later, without a response. You’d think a functioning company in 2022 would be able to handle a VALID refund request but not Routes. Save yourself some time and energy, just wait in the Avis or Budget line - doesn’t matter how long it is because the wait for your money back from Routes is even longer.

Was given an unregistered vehicle. Customer service was only mildly helpful. Took the general manager a day to call. Made it right eventually, but the hassle wasn’t worth the price difference for a more reputable company.

They did not communicate with Priceline that they only allow non-resident drivers. I found out at 9pm upon arrival at the rental center. Not good policy to surprise people like that. Not good at all.

I made a reservation 2 months in advance, but when I arrived at my scheduled time to pick up my car, I was informed they didn't have the car and had to wait 3 hours until one was available. The car they eventually had wasn't the correct size, and I still had to pay the difference for a larger vehicle, getting charged more. Once I had the keys, when I arrived at my spot, the car was not there. So, the gentleman valeting vehicles found me another and told me I was good to go. When I got to the garage gate to leave, they said I needed my reservation number, which was not included in any of the email communications I had received about my reservation or written down on my paper by the agent, it was only a "confirmation" number that I had. So, I had to repark the car, go all the way back into the terminal on a torn ACL and knee brace, get the number from the agent and re-enter the queue to exit the garage. Not to mention, a gentleman behind me in line when they initially informed us there were no cars had said he was going to the same city and I could ride with him. While I'm sure he had good intentions, as a single woman traveling alone, I politely declined. I wouldn't have taken the offer even if it was a little old lady. After all, I should have my own reservation and vehicle, right? The agent still felt a need to comment on my decision, as well as share it with the other team members through the walkie talkie, and went so far as to tell me "he wouldn't have done anything to you." This company needs to figure out its logistics and stop overbooking when they clearly cannot deliver for travelers. I would have happily found other arrangements if I had just known in the first place.

The ladies at the Avis desk in Atlanta were excellent. The lady at the Payless desk was awful. Told us our prepaid reservation would not be honored. Avis ladies took care of us and sent us off to enjoy our vacation. Never book from Payless.

There was no attendant at the payless counter in the rental center. The gentleman in the adjacent counter said I should go to the AVIS desk. They handled my rental, but offered indifferent and somewhat lackadaisical attitude. The vehicle was of a class smaller (KIA K5 rather than a Toyota Camry or equivalent, (which would have been a KIA Optima)). I did not have the time to protest at the time. Then, I was charged over $140.00, when my quote was for $125.42. And finally, after drop-off I was charged over $8.00 additional for fuel top-off. --I returned that car with a FULL TANK. I think they probably overfilled on a top-off to charge me for the difference. VERY DISSATISFIED.

the did NOT have my car - or ANY car for that matter my reservation for for 7:00 - the sign at the counter said that no cars are available until 8:30 I asked them for a car, ANY car - nothing was available they "over" book online w cheap rates and then hope to figure it out later i ended up renting from AVIS - they had cars left

Never againflat daily rates were same but coverage rates were slightly better than hertz and alamo. negative review is purely for the pickup experience. drop off was flawless.Bait and switch bullshit which is never acceptable. Pretty mediocrePickup and Dropoff was SUPER easy and quick. That makes a huge difference when renting. Also, it was relatively cheap.The car was pretty nasty. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks.

Van was dirty, sticky and smelly. They also want to put extra charges on bill after drop off that was sent to my email with out explanation. when I called so they can explain the charges they say there going to call back. I'm still waiting I called them three times. Don't waste you time nor money with these people and they also have a bad attitude.

The person at the desk was friendly and efficient once we got there. We were quickly checked out and on our way after a long wait.The directions on obtaining the vehicle were not explained to us until after we called for directions to the off site rental. We had to wait for a van to pick us up and take us to the rental lot, which took a long time to get to us. Upon arrival the agent greeted us and was welcoming. There was an undisclosed $200 deposit that we were not expecting and was taken from our debit card the day of rental. It was advertised that the van would be exceptionally clean and sanitized. When Adrienne pulled up the van it was obvious it has sat for awhile. The outside was dirty and banged up. The inside was fair, but it was definitely not clean. The Van’s brakes were poor and the power steering was loud. Not what I expected for the price we paid.

The van operated fine. I had a bunch of warning lights. Low tire pressure and that weird balancing light thing.The pick up process. I waited over an hour for them to clean the van. And then they informed me that I didn’t qualify for unlimited miles even though it said unlimited miles on the website. 1) please clean your van prior to your customers picking them up. 2) please disclose all terms and conditions so your customers can know what they are getting themselves into.
