Vehicle wasn't available. Kept me waiting until 6:15 pm then asked me to come back next day to pick up the car. They are horrible with clients and had to call the 1-800 number but they couldn't fix the problem so they wanted to set me up with another reservation at the airport x 3 times higher va.

Car smelled like smoke, attendants told me they all do.Drop off was easyCar smelled like smoke, asked for a different one and attendants told me they all do. Weren't too nearby location next day and they didn't have anything to swap out but have me number got another location. Called there and got sent to call center who told me to drive to each location to check inventory for a swap.

Customer service was not good.Don't rent from a third party if you think you want to change drop off places. They will not let you do it no matter what, not even if you are willing to pay extra for it. I had a pickup time for 6:00 PM and they closed at 6:00 PM. So I had to pay $56.00 more for a rental car at the airport for 1 day. Never again will I rent from Hertz! Pus, I called customer service and the lady hung up on me.

Pick up was a messI searched to pick up at MCO, but the pick up was offsite. They couldn’t do anything for me but create a new much more expensive booking.

Did not have any power for a 2017 car my wife was scare to ride in it to change lanes in Flordia you can't not go 20 mph n get in another lane or get on highway . The price was good but didn't not drive only about 160 miles in a whole week there we rode with my daughter because my wife was so scare of the car

Orlando airport gas station accessThe economy car was just that bit was fine.I planned to refill the gas myself but having never been to Orlando airport wasn’t aware there were no gas stations within five miles. Too late to go back for gas so got a huge charge from Hertz.

Worst rental experienceSUV was clean and drove goodAfter booking flights to Orlando, I was on expedia to rent a car, which then through me over to kayak. When it was showing me all the different places and offers, I selected Hertz. When we landed in Orlando, we went to Hertz and the person helping us said that our reservation was for a different location. She told me it was about 3 miles away. I asked if they can change that there and she had no idea. I asked why would I want to pick up a vehicle somewhere else when we just landed at the airport. Went outside, found a cab, gave him the address and it showed it was 17 miles away and about 30 minute ride. So my family and I got in the cab and headed over there. Of course by this time I am very ticked off, once we got to the location that the taxi's gps gave him there was no Hertz, just a small strip mall. We drove around alittle bit and finally asked a security guard in a car if he knew. Turns out it was at the Toyota collision building, they had a small Hertz logo in one of the doors. By this time it is now 1 1/2 hours since we landed and when I went to the Hertz rep, he asked if I was returning or picking one up. Told him we were suppose to getting a SUV. He replied with, I have no vehicles here right now. I thought he was joking but turned out to be true and that there was 4 other people ahead of us waiting for a rental. NOw I am really pissed and get a phone number from the rep, to call Hertz customer service. of course I was put on hold and waited 20 minutes with now response. It took til 7 pm, 3 1/2 hours later after we landed to get a vehicle and it was the wrong vehicle. It was a pickup which wasnt going to work for us. So I had to go back to the dealer in the morning to exchange vehicles. I dropped my family off to Sea World at 10, and by the time I got the SUV it was no0n. THen finally to return the vehicle Hertz wouldn't let us take it to the airport without paying extra so we dropped it off, UBERed to the airport. In all I wasted 5 1/2 hours on Hertz and had to pay $65 in cab/uber fees to get to my destinaion. I will NEVER NEVER give these fukheds a dime. Not only will they not appoligize but will not refund anything to me. I have told everyone I know who travels my story and they will not use Hertz again. I hope this place goes under. James

Everything was great until they tried to sneak in a $158 gas charge when I dropped it off after I just filled the tank. I walked away from the counter, not realizing. Once I realized, and brought it to their attention they removed the charge. I got the feeling that this was their SOP.

Worst Rental ExperienceThat I eventually got to leave the rental agency 90 minutes after arriving. Proximity to Universal.Terrible customer service! After waiting 30 minutes as clerk talked to a colleague, we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for our car to be ready. Only once we asked for a refund did they bring the car around. Car was still dirty, worker refused to acknowledge huge crack on back bumper despite me taking a picture of him standing next to it. Eventually just wrote "minor scratch" on form.

Rental perfect except for bubblegum smell in carRented out of Holiday Inn across from Universal Studios. Easy pick up, no lines, received free upgrade.We found the bubblegum smell in the car too strong. It must have been some kind of "refresher". Pine scented or lemon scented would have been better, or even better, no refresher at all. Other than that, our rental was fine.

I was given a better car than I had signed up for, so that was cool, plus a 10% discount for no reason.The employee was over an hour and 15 minutes late. There were customers flipping out and at one point when they called the specific number to the location we were picking up at they were told it was closed on Sunday and to go to the airport to get a car. Then, out of the blue the employee walks in, and then acted like it was no big deal. It was very unprofessional of that specific location. That was my main issue. Plus after all was said and done it was $120 more than I had been told in my Kayak bill.

Staff was very patient, friendly, and helpful. Also got a free upgrade. Dropping off process was very fast & easy.Picking up/getting the car took awhile due to technical/computer issues. The car also could have been a little cleaner. There was some dried/spilled food on the side of the driver’s seat.

Nothing, rental did not succeed due to errors/failures at rental deskConfirmed pickup time was 11pm. I booked a convertible for special occasion and surprise. So I took my wife via Uber from another hotel where we stayed. (20$). When we arrived at the desk at 11pm, we had to wait ~30 minutes since the sole employee (trainee) was struggling to help the 1 customer in front of us. 11:30 he walked away from the desk with the other people without letting us know what was going on. After 5 minutes I called the phone number mentioned at the desk for when nobody was there. The person at that number was oblivious what was going on and his only advise was to wait. Few minutes later the trainer arrived back. Then the ‘gun’ really started. Turned out that the convertible was not there at all... delivery time at minimal 1 hour as of that moment. No other option than to take another car or wait at minimum 1 hour more. After stating that I would take a small car instead but then obviously to a lower rate, he indicated he could not do that; ‘have to speak to manager’. His manager was put on the phone with me and promised me to give the along going rate with the smaller car and a discount for the inconvenience. He also promised the trainee to be there in 5 minutes ‘more or less’. That turned out to be more I guess because the next 20 he did not show up at least. So the trainee started to do the paperwork and then it turned out that he was about to charge me even more than for the convertible...! That kind of made me upset. I asked him to get his manager back on the phone but the trainee indicated that his manager hung up on him before. At that time I conclude that this was not leading anywhere and to look for another way to surprise my wife for our special occasion. Her ~1.5 hour wait in the lobby of a strange hotel was then at least done. All by all, bad-bad performance by Avis. Trainee all alone at a desk not knowing what to do. Manager lying and not backing up his employee. Customer experience worked ever. Formal complaint to Avis will be filed.

Drop off was finePick up a different story! We arrived at MCO airport at 10:35. I rented a car to be picked up at the airport. When I got to the agent she looked at my paperwork and informed me that the pick up was near Disneyland, about 25 miles North! I could not believe it. We took a cab costing us about $50 to a best western hotel that was also the incorrect after the driver left!! I walked 2 blocks to the correct address. The clerk was ok and she directed me to where the car was supposed to be. I searched for about a half hour with no luck. Note there was no Avis signs or any indication where the cars were hidden. I kept hitting the remote to lock the car to hear a beep where I might find it. After another 30 minutes I had my wife go to the clerk and ask for better directions. Finally after searching for over an hour I found it. Never again!!

Drop-offWe were told we could leave keys at drop-off location if we showed after our scheduled drop off. The drop off location was a hotel parking lot with not where to drop the keys. Our initial experience with customer service in resolving the issue was not very helpful. We were told we could not change the drop off location. Not until we spoke to a manager was the situation resolved and we were told we could drop off at another location. However, we were forced to take a taxi to our final destination (our original drop off location was walking distance to our hotel).

Bad bad kayak car rental experience!.I booked through kayak. National in Orlando could not find the reservation. In the end, National rebooked me and charged me a lot more. Kayak also charged me for insurance even though I didn't end up getting the car through them. This experience is very bad and cost me way more than I was originally priced through kayak.
