Pros: I needed to extend the rental an extra day, then the following day I changed the dropoff location and the staff were very helpful. They only charged me a $10 fee to extend the rental and nothing to change the location.
Cons: The rates in the bay area were a little higher than I would have liked.

Pros: Everything! I had requested online and was going to pick up from monterey, CA and return to SFO airport. Plans had changed and I ended up taking to another location but they were just as friendly and cooperative as ever.
Cons: Also, I just needed it for a "day" , so noon to 6pm, but asked about the penalty if it was late, but he mentioned it's for 24 hours so I had until the next day at noon. Obvious, but I would have chosen 2 days if that was the case. Great service altogether!

Pros: I had made the mistake of booking the wrong airport to get the car however they were able to get me the same car and rate without any problems. I really liked the FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE on the scenic California roads

Pros: The car was clean and easy to pick up and drop off.
Cons: The a/c did not work. It blew air but it was not cold. Upon dropping the car off, the Budget employee informed me that I had a chip in the windshield and had to fill out an accident report. The chip was the size of a grain of salt and he only saw it because it was next to the bar code. What a joke. I drove the car 1 time and certainly did not notice anything hitting the windshield. I hope that they don't try to pin this one on me.

Ride in Expedition
Pros: Comfort, quiet engine, economical
Cons: Very confusing navigation system, both in setting up and in finding destinations. Also, was unable to add stops/points of interest.

Pros: The car was very clean and nice. The service was helpful and fast.

Flat tire and no help
Pros: The car was ok
Cons: Car got a nail in the tire. When I called Alamo, they said they would charge us $65 to change the tire for the spare. Ok, fine. But they didn't have any replacement cars for us. So they wanted us to drive to a firestone, buy a new tire, and then hope to get reimbursed for it. We were on a work trip and a schedule. It was completely ridiculous and unhelpful. I couldn't believe that Alamo and Enterprise didn't have a single car to use for one day! Ended up getting the spare on ourselves. Driving it very slowly to our drop off place 40 min away and just leaving,
Cons: Hertz confirmed the car was there, no car and no help. After 30 minutes on the phone they directed me to another hertz location 30 miles away, but when i got there, again no car was available..ill never use hertz again, or kayak..what a joke they both are.

Pros: I liked that you can add extra drivers for no additional fee.
Cons: After we got to Hertz to pick up the car, they still had to clean it. When you are driving 20+ hours it would be great if the car were ready when you scheduled to pick it up. We called to see if we could change our reservation and were treated poorly by customer service at that location. Just say no, no need to berate us. It didn't help that they made us wait outside in the hot sun for an hour while we waited for it to be clean. The workers also were commenting on illegal substances they found in the cars when they should have been helping customers, which was beyond unprofessional. Not impressed with this company at all.

Pros: Used Hertz for years
Cons: Car was damaged on front end. Smelled of heavy smoke, and was not clean upon pickup.
I used to think Alamo was bad. As a Hertz #1 member. I hate to say, this will probably be my last.

Slight improvement in service
Pros: Customer representative as kind and took the time to have a conversation with us about our experience.
Cons: Our car was also not inspected at pickup so when we returned it, we were accused of putting a large dent in one of the doors, which we did not, and had no proof we did not because it was not inspected prior to our leaving our pick-up location. Customer rep at drop-off location was kind and apologized for not having the vehicle inspected prior to our leaving the pick-up location. Overall, I am very unsatisfied with out experience and will not be using Hertz again.

EXTRA CHARGES DUE TO BAD COMPUTER SYSTEM
Pros: I picked up the car at 6PM, but they recorded it as 3PM. They charged me for an extra day when I returned it at 4. They were rude on the phone.
The Seaside office itself was great, though.
Pros: Very efficient ,even with a busy in town week ,they took good care of us

Cons: Unfortunately I reserved an SUV and upon arrival to the check-in desk I was told they had only sedans. It was lucky that another company had a larger car for me, but I was surprised and not thrilled that I made a reservation for a car they did not have to rent.
