Super convenient, minimal lines, good customer service, free upgrade. Price higher than other agencies, but had to book last minute so that may have been why.

Pros:
Friendly driver
Cons:
Poor customer orientation: - Driver arrived 45min after pickup call (we waited in 0 degree weather) - Unable to add Sixt loyalty card onsite - Mandatory insurance complicates credit card backed insurance. - Service personel at checkin not thinking with the customer, did not seem knowledgeable. She tried to sell us unnecessary insurance

Pros:
The car, employees, service and experience of renting from Sixt were all good; however, returning the car was a nightmare. Somehow Sixt does not have an address that can be found on GPS. The directions from our hotel were convoluted and confusing for someone not familiar with the Heathrow area. Finding Sixt to return the car was the most stressful part of our trip. The car itself was clean and comfortable, the service fine.

Car hire in Staines upon Thames is a very good option, even though the town is still with the ambit of the Greater London Commuter belt, as it will allow you to freedom to explore the broader Surrey area on your own schedule. Black Park Country Park is one of them, about 7.5 miles from Staines town centre. There is also Thorpe Park, with its imaginative modern fairground attractions, restaurants and coffee shops. The Thames River flows through the town, which was once the centre of linoleum production in the UK. Visit also the famous commemorative Lino Statue on the High Street.
The town is only about 3 miles away from London’s Heathrow airport, and you can collect your Staines upon Thames car hire right there once you’ve landed. All the major car hire operators like Avis, Hertz, Sixt, Budget and others can be found in Terminals 2 to 5. If you arrive in Terminals 4 or 5 a free shuttle will take you directly from the exit to the hire car parking. From Terminals 2 and 3 you can take a free short bus ride from the airport’s central bus station just outside.
When you’re driving in Staines you’ll find a fair amount of traffic in the town centre. You also have to watch out for plenty of eager joggers in all the riverside areas and around the Staines Reservoirs near London Road and the A30 Staines Bypass. Along the Thames in the vicinity of Staines Bridge you should also keep an eye out for strolling pedestrians. The centre of Staines is also a busy market area, and has been since 1218, so drive carefully in that district as well.
Peak rush hour times are from 08:00 to 09:00 in the morning, and in the late afternoon between 16:00 and around 17:30. You should definitely try to avoid the Staines Bridge roundabout at these times, as well as the Crooked Billet roundabout, where you’ll feel as if you’re driving left in order to go right. As a result, minor bumper bashings can often occur here due to this confusion, which can hold traffic up even more. Other than that you won’t have to worry about much else when driving around Staines.
