Pike's Peak was my view; can't go wrong with that. One room was left with that view, and I checked in late. Located close to many restaurants, stores. Shower curtain was stinky and musty, and bathtub in poor shape. Garbage pails were dirty under the plastic bags, and something sticky was on the floor. Loud neighbors in middle of the night. Continental breakfast was something to be desired. They had a swimming pool with no water in it.
I've always enjoyed staying at the Howard Johnson. Beds are comfortable and my husband and I were able to get a good nights sleep for the first time in a long time. Even though there are things that are wrong with the hotel, if you don't let it bother you, you won't even notice them. If you're a complainer, don't stay here. I also like that this is the only hotel that allows dogs over 30lbs. That they need to put money back into the hotel to fix up the rooms and to fix the things that are broken without raising the price of the stay. Not much I don't like about the Howard Johnson. I enjoy staying there when I am in town.

The staff tried to accomidate us The first room had a very foul smell,the second room had mold in the bathroom,standing water in the shower while you shower,the toilet ran all night and the handle to flush the toilet kept falling off.we normally stay there every year arou!d this time for my birthday and this is my first disappointment

The bed were comfortable and the location was great . there were restaurants and a Walmart close by The room wasn't that clean. There walls were filthy , the carpets were torn, the tub didnt drain andthere was blood on a set of sheets . the lady that I told theses problems was rude when we told her about how bad the room was and was like "oh"but was even more upset when I asked her for the number to make a formal complaint.

Nothing I paid online through Kayak and they charged my card, then Howard Johnson charged my card 2 more times for the same room. I also had to switch rooms 3 times because the 1st room had a clogged toilet, then the second room was still dirty from the people who had stayed there the night before. The person who checked me in was rude, but tolerable. The "assistant manager" that I spoke with about the charges to my card was extremely rude, and had no idea what she was talking about and gave the worst customer service I've ever had, hands down.
It was easy to book online and they allowed pets at an affordable rate. Checking in was very fast and simple. Breakfast items were well stocked though it was a basic breakfast, nothing fancy. We arrived about 4:30pm and they gave us a key at check in. We entered our room and dropped off our stuff. We left to finish packing our apartment for our move. We returned to the hotel near midnight and could not enter our room. We thought the key was deactivated until we noticed a "do not disturb" sign on the door. We went to the front desk to find that they had given our room away (with our stuff in it). They also informed us that they had completely booked up the hotel and they had no rooms available. Then they told us to wait. Then they told us they did have an available room on the fifth floor in a separate building. The room they gave us was downgraded from our reservation, nails in the wall, peeling paint, and the room smeeled like urine (the smell was worse after turning on the AC which was off...We figured someone urinated in the AC unit itself). Having no AC in a room that reeked of urine was not a pleasurable stay at Howard Johnson and has turned me off to staying at any of there hotels ever.
I did not stay here. The pimp guarding his girls that you can see when you go for a walk in Google Street view.
Nothing. the girl at the counter obviously didn't care about her job AT ALL! my reservation was wrong, and when i talked to the hotel about it i got the worst customer service i have experience!
The staff was great, very friendly. There was a small empty Fireball bottle on our floor near the trash upon arrival. Also tyne room had all of the baseboards ripped out and a large piece of carpet left unfinished. Very disappointing.
They provided both breakfast and dinner with wine or beer. The hotel was in a remodeling stag and need updates especially at the front entrance where there were fake plants. Some real flowers in the planters would have been much more pleasant.
Very clean and easy access. The pool left much to be desired, no towels and could use a little upgrade.
Location A/c didn't work
The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was easy access to the freeway. The hot breakfast was nice. The shampoo was missing out of the bathroom container. The lights between the beds had a defective switch. The noise traveled more than I remember from last year and you couldn't clear your history/personal info from the business computer.
Friendly staff. Some construction was going on creating noise. Recliner in room was very old and outdated.

We weren't too far from our destination hiway Staff was not informed and somewhat rude. Could not get them to understand my concerns.
The room smelled like chlorine, the A/C did not work, there were stains on the sheets, the carpet was sticky in some spots, the room was halfway remodeled, there was a tick in the shower. HORRIBLE!!!

The room had a great view of the mountains and the Jacuzzi tub amazing The floor was coming apart in the bathroom and the marble by the tub was cracked badly pinched foot
I like the customer service. Jonathan at night and Teresa G were very friendly. I didn't like the stay, the beds, the closet size continental breakfast room, the rooms. For the money, I expected way more but I was happy they allowed me to refund my money. I checked out early due to my dissatisfaction. Will never stay at a Days Inn in the future. Also, the presentation of the staff. Walking up to the front of the hotel, one would be confused as to who works there.. From tshirt, scarfs on their heads while working behind the front desk to sitting right outside the front office smoking, very unprofessional when you are trying to obtain customers and want them to return.
The pool, the hot tub, the location, the breakfast, the rooms, and the staff were excellent. The towels are like sandpaper
It started at check in with the front desk clerk rude that I was there at 3:30pm and check in was 4pm even though Kayak's website said check in at 3pm. The room was filthy. Dirty bedspread and down right disgusting. At 10pm we were awakened by the person upstairs stomping around their room for 2 hours then again at 3am. It was like the walls were paper. Horrible stay!! Would never stay there agin.

When looking up affordable hotels on Kayak, most of the reviews for other hotels were very negative, saying the rooms were dirty, and all sorts of negative stuff. This place was very clean, staff was very nice, and when I showed up the bill was $20 cheaper than what Kayak quoted me. I would highly recommend staying here. No cons
