No one available when I came to pick up my car. No notice that they closed at noon on Saturday. No attempt to contact me to find out if I was on my way. No customer service at all. I had even called ahead to check with them about the situation. I like Hertz and have used them many times successfully before, but this location in Columbia, MO, was pitiful. Would never attempt to rent from them again. Cost me almost $100 in extra cab fare and wasted my time. I recommend using another company that might care about their customers.

The staff was superby courteous and helpful.

Cons:

I was dismayed to find out that I had to have my car back at noon, when my flight didn't leave till 7PM. Your staff helped me find out the latest time I could return the car without extra charge, since I had picked it up at 3:30PM. I do not find this policy helpful, and was very surprised about it

There was no real instruction on how to drop off. The CID airport is small. When I first dropped off, there was no one at the counter. The car smelled of smoke.

No window washer fluid in the car and despite it being a non-smoking car, there was a lingering smell of old tobacco.

Andy (the girl at the rental office) was really nice.

Cons:

I prepaid for gas. I was dropping off in another state. He assured me there was enough gas in the car to get to my next destination. I told him the weather where I was going was very cold and snowy and would be going through some remote areas so I wanted to be sure. I ended up having to try to frantically try to find a gas station in an area that was pretty remote. I ended up having to travel several miles off the main road to get gas in a tiny town. It was very inconvenient and scary knowing I was almost out of gas. I had been looking for a gas station for over 80 miles and so I was almost on empty. Also the cushions were all stained. It looked like there had been multiple spills and no one had cleaned it up. It looked terrible.

As a first time car renter, the overall experience was easy and painless! Maddie was extremely helpful and patient as she guided me through the rental process. The car was clean and in great condition! Drop off was easy! Just dropped the keys in the collection box& away I went!

Cons:

Honestly, nothing. The staff was very helpful & friendly! Prices fair! No complaints!

Pros:

The staff was easy to work with and pleasant. We had the vehicle reserved and the process was easy and quick. Nice vehicle was clean and well cared for made the trip nice. The return was just as easy and quick. Returned the keys to the associate and he printed the receipt and I was on my way. Would definitely recommend them to friends and family.

Cons:

I would have appreciated a full tank of gas when picking up. A minor thing but had to stop sooner when driving to destination. Attendant was okay with me bringing it back 3/4 full like I picked it up so no big deal

I rent dozens of cars every year and I’ve never received the care, quality, and friendliness as I do at this Budget / Avis. I always check them out first for my rental needs. They get me in, out, and on the road in minutes.

Cons:

Nothing. I’ve not had a bad experience with this office.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
