Dropping off at airport late, but had to search out the counter within the terminal... Had to search someone out to find that information when it could have been posted. Just 20 minutes of walking back and forth walking around, other than that the drop off went well. Pick up was smooth. Agent was helpful and courteous.

Drop off a bit complicated at the Sanford airport. Went in circles until I figured out what to do.

Cons:

I rented a medium size car and Alamo gave me a compact, much smaller than I paid for. On top of that the attendant insisted in me taking road assistance which cost me another $100. It was a rip off. You can tell they are mad cause people refuse their insurance which is $40 per day and the other add one they desperately want us to accept so the rental fee doubles in price.

Cons:

The USB port didn't work!!! So I couldn't use it to charge and run my iPhone for directions. This could have been disastrous if I had a longer trip to get to my GPS destination.

Pros:

First time w dollar. No one told us about a $100 "cleaning fee" . Never got that from hertz, alamo, national or enterprise or any other rental service. I would have had it cleaned. Also, why was I charged airport taxes when I did not fly in or out. Now I am on hold for 18 minutes waiting to address these unexpected charges.

Cons:

Sneaky, they hit me with several unexpected charges after the return which I have never had an issue with when renting from any other company. $100 cleaning fee? Needed some vacuuming otherwise the vehicle was the same returned as picked up. You may spend hours on the phone before any answer when you call to ask why a non flyer was charged airport taxes. Take the time at the counter to get a final cost BUYER BEWARE!

Carrentals.com hacked into this transaction, gave me a reservation to the wrong airport, did not make a reservation with Dollar car rental and refused to refund my money. I'm forced to go through my bank to FORCE A REFUND. I WILL NEVER USE KAYAK again

I would go over any current dents/aesthetic damages already on the car prior to the renters taking the car off the lot.

This location was very hard to find. No signage outside the facility. Upon return no one available for return of vehicle. Called the number on a paper on the door. They said good to another door, find their desk and leave the key fob.

The gentleman at the desk in Daytona was very professional and personal

Cons:

I was given a car with a 1/2 tank of gas, was told to go online and file a form. I returned the car with 3/4 of a tank and was billed $32 for a non filled tank. Ridiculous and now I must waste hours trying to straighten the mess out

Cons:

Got to the rental place, their card chip reader wasn't working so we had to swipe. My husband's mag strip was worn so it wasn't working. The woman at the counter informed us she couldn't type the card manually. As we share the same bank account, we asked to use my card and were unable to due to it being in his name. We were then advised to call and straighten it out with priceline. So we tried numerous times to call price line only to get an auto recording telling us about our rental details, no option for a rep. We decided to use the chat feature to get help. First person seemed like she did not want to help, gave multiple bits of incorrect info, and then lied and said she couldn't contact the rental company to confirm our refund for up to 10 business days because they're closed. We were literally standing in the office she claimed wasn't opened. The next rep said we need to call their number, and gave us the recorded line again. The last rep FINALLY was able to get us a refund but either way we were left without a rental vehicle and had to find another method of transportation because the company also advised they need a minimum of 24 hours notice to rent a car. It was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. I will never use a third party site again, this was beyond words.

Pros:

Staff friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Only two vehicles to choose from in class we reserved. Since we needed luggage space over comfort we chose the Rav 4 which smelled like a cigar smoker had it last and there was a small burn hole in the driver’s seat. We are not smokers and we’re disappointed.
