Pros: The gentleman at the desk upgraded my room to a queen suit for my birthday! They went above and beyond. Awesome!

Cons: I did not like that my husband and I got a room with two twin beds instead of one king. Also, DO NOT leave important items in your car - after we got our car back from valet, a $50 Starbucks giftcard was missing from our car. :(

Cons: The staff wasn’t friendly. The room was underwhelming - the AC was either running and freezing or not and it was hot. The windows aren’t darkened so you can see directly across the atrium at other rooms, so you need to put the curtains across and it felt like a cave.

Pros: The room was very large and lovely too. The staff was the most amazing part of the stay! They bent over backwards to ensure our stay was relaxing, comfortable and rewarding. Thank you so much!

Pros: The staff was amazing. The rooms were fantastic. The neighborhood was very cute with great walk-ability and choices for food and entertainment.

Pros: The room was nicely appointed. The entire staff were very pleasant and polite. They also provided a Shuttle bus service within a five mile radius of the hotel. We were driven to the baseball game. The next day we were driven to the Detroit Institute of Art and later picked up at our convenience. This was a tremendous bonus for us since it meant we didn’t have to face trying to find our way a city that was unknown to us.

Pros: Extremely courteous and welcoming Doormen and check-in staff. Great location to good restaurants and activities. Room was spacious and beds were super comfortable. Wonderful large bathroom with garden tub exceeded my expectations. Very pleasant and attentive housekeeping staff. Lobby is grand and impressive.

Cons: Everything was wonderful. If I could make a suggestion, it would be to include bubble bath in with the other amenities.

Pros: The decor was beautiful. The customer service was fabulous and making fresh waffles for each customer was so thoughtful. It was just a beautiful set up The rooms were not only decorated wonderfully but it was clean and comfortable, slept like a baby. Very romantically set up. Each room on the main floor was unique it had little surprises in each room, with the decor and board games. Like it wasn’t set up like a big chain hotel where everything looks the same. It was a very quaint and vintage experience, felt like we stepped back in time. We need this traditional, vintage experience more in the years to come.

Cons: The toilet in our room made a very loud suction noise every few hours in the middle of the night, that it was startling us in the middle of night. The wifi doesn’t really Reach up on the third floor in our room— we had to go to the main floor.

Pros: Conveniently located near all the sports facilities, private & secured parking lot and the Victorian architecture & craftsmanship of the unique mansion was beautiful. The staff was very nice & accommodating.

Pros: Location was perfect! Short walk to Little Caesar's Arena! The breakfast was great, more than enough food.

Cons: Our AC was not working well when we returned to the room in the evening. But the staff member came up right away and worked on a solution. It didn't get immediately cooler but it did improve.

Cons: The staff, while friendly, is poorly trained and room maintenance and service are very sub-par. Here’s an abreviated chronology explaining my review and why we will never book this property again: Tuesday, September 10 Room thermostat temperature (66 degrees) was too cold. AC control locked because there are only two on the floor for all the rooms!. Staff member unlocked the AC control and raised the thermostat to 68 degrees as we requested. No guest should be at the mercy of a thermostat they cannot set or, worse, a thermostat set to accommodate a guest in another room. Battery died that evening and staff did not know how to change it. The night manager gave us a swamp fan which failed after about an hour of loud chattering noises. The antique armoire is the only place to store clothing, Two outside doors, which had shelving, were wedged shut and there was no skeleton key in the room to open them. Only one hanger in the center section of the armoire. Two of the four bulbs in the lighting fixture over the sink in the bathroom were burned out. One bedside lamp was unusable because the cord was not long enough to reach the nearest outlet, which is behind the bed. The filter in bathroom sink tap was partially clogged, so water sprayed in all directions. Wednesday, September 11 Was asked(!) if we wanted to have our room serviced when we went out in the morning. When we returned in the afternoon, we found that our bed had been made, but all our dirty towels were still on the floor of the bathroom with no replacementst. We then called down to the Front Desk and a staffer brought us bath towels, but didn’t bring a bath mat, hand towels or wash cloths. Subsequently, my spouse went downstairs to get the staffer to get us the missing items. The responsibility for this sad state of affairs in what should be a magnificent property is clearly on the shoulders of the owners and management company. They should be embarrassed

Pros: So beautiful! The room was wonderful, loved the bathroom. Easy to find, location is outstanding. Staff were great.

Cons: Only complaint would be breakfast. Not sure if we just had bad luck with the other guests beating us to the “good stuff”, but it was rather lackluster. Wouldn’t deter us from returning though!

Pros: The view was spectacular!! Within walking distance of the venue and we used the tunnel to get to the restaurant. It was great!

Pros: I loved the restaurants especially the diner in the hotel , the servers were the best I've ever had!Which is saying alot since I was a server for 8 years , the food was amazing as well , you get so much! One hotel deck employee went above and beyond to make me happy after we had some serious concerns about our room! Also valet was great , very friendly and went above what they had to go help me out! Room service was also great ,so friendly !

Cons: MY room was so nasty , I stay in 5 star hotels anytime me and my wife go out and never have seen a room so nasty! I don't think anyone has dusted since the hotel opened! Hair on th the bathroom floor , in tub and shower ( it was not mine) !!! Sunflower seeds on carpet as well as crumbs (again not from me) food on the table , no suger for coffee and only 1 cup! The fridge would not get cold , I figured out why ( it's on a TIMER yes a TIMER) can you say cheap!!! Then the bed had hair in it (not mine) sheets looked liked they had not been washed! I did not even want to sit because everything was so gross !!! Chair at desk even had coffee dripped all over it, tile floor was caked full of black grime!!!! Hotel elevator and rooms floor smelled like pot , neighbors were so very loud! To get a clean room you must have to pay extra to get a floor higher in the executive level! This was my first time in Detroit and if I based if I would go back off of what my room was like it would be a 100% Hel l No! But I loved the atmosphere and restaurants and the city is beautiful , so I would go back just not ever stay here again! Heads up i am a smoker but my wife is not , I hate the smell of smoke any everywhere in the hotel smells like one big ashtray! Management really needs to step up and check on rooms before guests arrive and let go of employees who clearly cannot do there jobs!!!

Cons: I wish there would have been a small refrigerator for our own drinks and leftover food we had from dinner. Food had to sit out all night and spoiled.

Pros: The first nights room that we booked through the hotel was beautiful and clean.

Cons: We stayed 2 nights. First night booked through casino. 2nd night through the site. First night room was beautiful. Recently upgraded. Clean. Got into our room by 12pm. Second night room was supposed to be vip and upgrade. We couldn’t get in until 4pm and staff was not pleased that we kept checking to see if it was. Floor had food on it. Wasn’t upgraded and looked like it hadn’t been redecorated in years. Thermostat was out of control. We paid a lot of money for a few jets in the bathtub and a subpar room. Knowing that they had really nice base rooms available and then knowing we had paid extra for this shoddy corner room - I wouldn’t do it again. When I called the desk to complain the second night, the boy who answered said all the rooms were delux and the same. I didn’t want to argue. We just won’t use the site to book anymore.
