The pick up took forever, the lady said she did not have our reservation, she initially tried to charge us more money then said she would give us a discount - it was all very confusing and I did not understand. She told us we would be charged a large security deposit that would be refunded a couple of weeks after we returned the car - which seemed really really odd to me that they would hold that much of my money for so long. I checked my credit card and they did not do it that way but at the time, her explanation was troublesome and I didn’t have the ability to check my credit card and see what they were charging me. It made me feel uncomfortable that I was being taken advantage of. The return was a better experience- pretty quick and easy.Reviewed Aug 2 2026

The car was the worst car I’ve ever driven driven. It had more dings and damage to it. There was lots of noises coming from the engine. It was all scratched. We called to say there was a noise coming from the engine. The lady said she would come and pick it up. We almost lost our reservation at a restaurant. She never showed up or got a phone call. Customer service was terrible. I won’t be going through dollar again not in Aruba.Reviewed Mar 19 2025

When we got to dollar rental in Aruba, they informed me that they didn’t have any SUVs available (which is what I reserved) and offered a minivan which I don’t feel comfortable driving. When I asked for a regular sedan instead they told me they don’t have anything available. It was either the minivan or go with a local rental place they work with. We went with the local rental Place they recommended and received the worst beat up tiny SUV. I will never book with dollar again.Reviewed Dec 28 2024

We like the price from kayak the pick up was all messed up, they didn’t have. Our rental due to someone bringing back a car late So they sent us to Toyota rental. We had to wait awhile for our paperwork to be completed and the car was disgusting. The front tire was going flat, the car was so dirty and when we turned the air conditioner on high, two dead cockroaches came out of the vents. The car type that we thought we were getting was not at all what we got. The car was the size of a shoebox. We will never rent from them again on the island of Aruba.Reviewed Apr 6 2024
