My reservation was for 1200 noon on a sunday. Nowhere in the booking nor on the confirmation email did it state that the office would also close at precisely 1200 noon sharp. I arrived ten minutes late due to traffic, which is usually reasonable to still receive a car or other service. I didn't receive a courtesy email, phone call or anything to say that the office would be closing or even that my reservation was canceled. I arrived to a locked office only. I called the number on the door and it was a National Avis representative, they told me the office was closed and I could pick up a car the following day. I informed the agent that I must have a car to catch a flight out of town that night. They said I was out of luck and nothing could be done. Horrible customer service, communication, and empathy or concern. Luckily a competing car rental chain was open until 1pm and they were able to get me into a car as soon as I arrived. STAY AWAY FROM AVIS!!!!! Garbage company!!
