Pros: The staff was friendly.

Cons: The price was a bait-and-switch. The price shown online ($2/day) looks too good to be true because it is-- you must purchase mandatory insurance when you show for pickup, and the minimum level of coverage was roughly $55/day, or $440 for my 8-day trip. This is a 270% increase and a scam. I cancelled my reservation and took a cab.

Pros: I didn't like it at all.

Cons: They need to put in big letters that renters are required to get their insurance. CDW from your credit card is not accepted.

Nightmare

Cons: It is a total scam . Pick was a nightmare price was triple . Returned car 3 days early because it was a not running well . They wouldn't refund any money noy even insurance . Do not go there. They won't give u a car with your credit card insurance . U have to pay there overpriced insurance.

Scammers

Pros: What can you like about a rental company that scams Canadians, US and Europeans?

Cons: Europcar would not allow me to use my Canadian credit card CDW insurance and on my prepaid contract applied a US$250.00 charge for my one week rental. As per the contract, I provided a document from my credit card insurance company that I had CDW insurance. Europcar also required that had a stamped document from a Mexican government agency that my Canadian Credit card insurance was accepted in Mexico. After a 2 month wait from the email address Europcar provided, the answer from the Mexican govt department, was they did not respond to these requires....A request that did not allow me to use my credit card CDW....Europcar scam to disallow credit card CDW usage

Watch out for fees!!!!

Cons: I booked with a great low rate. When I got there to to pick up the car, I was told that the mandatory damage waiver would literally triple my rental fee. Also, I booked for a 9:00 pm dropoff and was informed at pickup that the location closed at 6:00.

Car not available on pick-up

Pros: nothing

Cons: - car not available - no car for the next 2-3 days acc. personnel

We reserved a car that didn't exist

Pros: Nothing

Cons: When we arrived in Huatulco and went to the Europcar desk to pick up our reserved car, we were informed that no cars were available --for at least five days! This put a serious damper on our holiday travel plans! Not happy!!

Cons: They did not honor the reservation. They said, that they don't had more cars for rental. So, we have to leave in taxi.

Pros: nothing

Cons: the actual price was almost four times the price that was quoted on kayak, and the whole thing was a total scam

Huge problems all the way around

Cons: I reserved a car three weeks in advance of the pick up date, but when we showed up, they insisted that they did not have a car available for us. I argued with the counterman for 30 minutes since my destination in Puerto Escondido was an hour away, and even brought over a person from AVIS next door to interpret for me. Finally they brought me out to a car in the parking lot, and rented it to me. When I first reserved the car, I called the home office in the UK to verify what the final price with insurance included would be, and was told $107 for the car, and $97 for the insurance, for a total of $204. I would have rented from another company but it was the holiday week and all other companies were reserved 100%. Once they finally "found" a car for me, the price was now $242.00, take it or leave it. I will never rent from Europacar again.
