Cons:This is borderline fraud. The rate was ridiculously low, but on arrival I was told I needed to obtain the full insurance on the car. Extremely poor customer service bordering on rude. We walked away.

Cons:We have rented cars several times at Cancun, so we know how the insurance cost works. You make your reservation and plan on paying roughly double once the liability insurance is added in. Always decline the collision insurance, since it is covered by our credit card. This was our third time renting from Europcar. It will be the last. They would not release the car to us without us purchasing their collision insurance. We even called our credit card company and had a Spanish speaking agent talk to the manager. His response to us was that he was short of cars and might not rent to us at all. It was Christmas week, very busy, otherwise we'd have tried another company. Our final cost was over $500 for 6 days in a subcompact car.

Cons:We booked and had a confirmation email with the price for the rental for 8 days. When we arrived the person at the desk had all our reservation information but said the price was 4 times what our email said. When we showed him the confirmation stating the vehicle and the price, he said “I cannot do that price, this is my best price” and the amount was four times our confirmed reservation amount. We have since checked back to see if we misunderstood the email but no, they just offer one price online and then when you get there adjust the price and will not honor the confirmation from online. The worst part is when this was happening the guy behind us in line said “oh yeah they do that all the time, every time I rent with europcar they charge way more than when you originally book, it’s a huge scam” he said the only reason he uses them is because it is a company card so not his money. I would NEVER use them again. We had to scramble to find another company last minute and got a car from them for a more reasonable rate.

Pros:Reactivity when we had the failure on the second day. Even if we were remote, the agency sent a car within 4 hours
Cons:Due to a problem with our previous travel by bus, we had to delay the pick-up outside the opening hours of the office. After negotiation by phone, it was agreed that they would bring us the car at the hotel in the evening, but when we arrived the communication was far different,. Eventually we managed to pick up the car the following day, but I spent the night with big doubts.... The car was strange at the beginning, and I concluded that they had sub-inflated the tyres because we had to travel on tracks inside the Torres del paine park. But the second day, we had the rear axle BROKEN !! The cleanliness of the replacement car was not very good
