Carpet new and recently painted Very close to downtown Hartford Had to drive to restaurants Very basic breakfast
I like the ease of checking in and checking out. I had to wait until 1 pm for my room but that wasn't a big issue. The Erotic Zone club being located next to the hotel was a little shady.
There was a concert going on. The Hotel was a night mare. They sold all other parking spaces for $40 that night and the concert crowd trashed the out side grounds with trash and beer bottles and even partied in the halls after midnight in large groups. The cops had to kick them out I WILL NEVER GO TO A SUPER 8 AGAIN ! Staff was slamming doors and using vacuums and power tools in the hall way outside our room from 3 am to 6 am !! !!! Horrible experience I WILL NEVER GO TO SUPER 8 AGAIN !!!!!!
it was in a good location inside Hartford away from downtown but close enough for everything we needed to do. The price was right. The breakfast was mediocre. The in room coffee maker was not replenished every morning. There were no tissues in the room.
Wasn't bothered by staff Everything was dirty. Some toilet amenities appeared to have been used. Remote control had to be used with a plastic bag over it because it was so dirty.
It was by far the worst Super 8 I have ever stayed at. The breakfast was constantly missing cinnamon rolls and there was a constant line at the waffle machine (because the waffle machine, microwave and cereal were all crammed into the same corner). The waits for breakfast was so long, that I gave up on the second day and started walking to the McDonalds around the block. One day, I didn't even receive maid service. The bathrooms needed some paint touch up. There wasn't a place to hang my clothes. By far, the worst hotel I have stayed at in a while.
They had a great staff very friendly and helpful maybe. The hotel all in all was nasty. I got a smoking room burn holes in the sheets. Wrappers left in the room from the last users. Its wasnt worth the ---$ i paid for it i slept in my car.

Price. It was a dump. Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes. Floor was falling apart. Cigarette holes in the sheets.
Although the bathroom was clean there was mold on the ceiling there was a big hole in the cover on the bed
It was outdated and dirty It was outdated and dirty
It was very dirty, the sheets were extremely old with holes. The room had a peculiar odor. I went to a funeral and it was very late to leave and get another hotel.
Floor not vaccumned. Sheet washed but stained, plumbing problems. No shampoo or conditioner. Some of the limited TV channels unviewable. Not 2 stars. Nope
Front staff very nice Cigarette burns in sheets in non smoking, dirty toilet, old soap from previous stay, damp rug
The price was great The non smoking room smelled like something had been smoked in there recently, either cigarettes or crack.
Nothing Broken deadbolt lock. Non working over bed lamp. Shower curtain with holes. Bad smell in room
It's close to downtown Hartford's attractions a broken door, a badly fixed toilet seat and holes in every bedsheet, linen and towel
Our room reeked of cigarette smoke but it was only --- a night. The staff was super friendly and our room served it's basic purpose.
While the hotel room was bare-bones (exactly 1 soap, 2 towels, 2 washcloths, 1 floor mat for a room with 2 beds), it was clean and without blemish. The AC works well enough to keep the air circulating on a cool night. We stayed on a Saturday night and the some 3-8 guests in the area were loud 11:30pm-2am. Cigarette smoke bellowed in through the AC, rooms on all sides had doors that slammed every time anyone went in/out of their rooms. Would not stay at that location again.
The inn was very affordable. There was evrn a full sized refrigerator in the room! Overall, the "Bang for your buck" was amazing! Yes the bathrooms are a little dated, adorable pink and white tiles, but they were clean and well-maintained and that's more important than how old equipment is. Also the air-conditioning unit is solid! The room cooled off so quickly I had to lower it! While the bed was very comfortable, the pillows were super thin and they only give you three on a king sized bed. But Target was just down the road and we bought an extra pillow (a whole $4). Just make sure you bring an extra pillow or two for yourselves on your stay!
Clean safe room at good price
Friendly staff, clean room. We extended our stay again and again to FOUR nights. Huge freezer and fridge. There was nothing to complain about
Just a basic motel room, good for a short stay at a good price. When I first got there (around 6 pm), there was no one at the desk. A few mintures later, someone walked in the door and just stared at me. He never introduced himself or gave any indication that he worked there, then simply said, "Yeah?" To which I replied that I had a reservation. He knocked on a door and someone came out, asked for my ID and credit card and gave me a key without any conversation or instruction whatsoever.
I liked that the room had a microwave and refrigerator also air and heating unit. plenty of space for drawers and hanging space even though the sheets, blanket and spread were clean, they were damaged with holes and stains and the ironing board leaned, had to keep adjusting
The price Everything else
We had all we needed for our two day stay at the ABV Inn. Loved the interior especially the vintage bathroom.
Excellent value, quiet, good-sized room, friendly staff, excellent location. Microwave and fridge are nice extras. The entrance to the expressway to the Putnam Bridge in Hartford is just a block north. This is an older motel that has been remodeled. The bathroom still has the original 50 year-old pink and white wall tiles, which clash with the newer floor (beige) and tub (mauve). No fan in the bathroom, but otherwise satisfactory.
The price was lowest in the region. Clean bed and bathroom. No offensive aroma in non-smoking room. Walls dirty, furniture dirty. Cold air rushing in through door jambs. no continental.
Great deal for the price-full size fridge and microwave. A little dingy but clean. Would have liked a guest services book in the room just to get an idea of what was in the area.
It was a nice location, easy to park and had a liqueur store and dunkin donuts right next door so it was convenient.
Rooms were well maintained. Check in and out was efficient.
Location Ok, first of all...although the rate may seem like a great deal you will soon find out that an additional fee will be charged for internet (charged for each computer), and for microwave and refrigerator use(really)...second of all, although many websites still say "free shuttle" for this motel, this is the only motel around without a shuttle so calculate an additional $20 taxi fee to your room rate. Finally, my wife and I were interrupted by a drug addict knocking on our door at 1:00am looking for "good times" and refused to leave until we "got him high" He continued to knock on the door for 10 minutes...When I told him I was calling to cops he said "do what you got to do but you know you owe me!..I'll be back!"...(the rooms have door directly to outside, no security)... The motel manager said she was calling the police but the police never showed...she told me "they came by but saw nothing so they left." We were never questioned by the police or even saw them arrive at all. We decide to go to another motel, ...and only when I threatened to contact the news about our experience did we get a full refund...This review is no joke, sour grapes, or an exaggeration...do yourself a favor and stay away. -Joseph
I liked the close proximity to quick serving and quick eating restaurants and the closeness to the airport. I disliked everything else - the room smell, dirty sink, clogged sink drain, poor shower head, lack of hot water, no microwave, internet you must pay for per device, dirty doors and walls.
The Grantmoore is a dirty, dangerous dump. As a middle aged tough male traveling alone I am used to rough conditions so I tend to ignore warnings, but this was too extreme for me. There was not even a nightstand for my gun so I slept with it loaded in the bed. Locks do not work, doors look like they have been forced open and bent, smell of drugs and suspicious characters everywhere, everything in the room in severe disrepair. I wouldn't even recommend it for short stays with prostitutes- I have my pride and would be ashamed to bring a prostitute there.
Leaving, which I did after inspecting the room. On my first attempt, was. Given a key to a room already occupied. Shortly thereafter, was solicited by a resident prostitute. I declined. The second key opened a room reminiscent of some third world country though, frankly, a small child leaning on the door would have opened it. There was a pro forma lock, but no real deadbolt, and the gap between the door and the doorjamb would have easily allowed anyone to defeat the lock. There was dim fluorescent lighting, but even this was sufficient to reveal soiled sheets, complete with cigarette burns. Unless you're down and out, or feeling that you need to be a little more depressed, save yourself the trip.
