Book Hertz car rentals in Framingham

Cons: I rented this vehicle to travel on vacation. I had to take a day out of my vacation to swap the vehicle for another due to the need of an oil change. The vehicle was 2018 but too standard.

Cons: I don’t think so

Pros: The car rental was cheap.

Cons: There was no car available when I went to pick it up and they did not give me any advance warning. I had to wait around and Uber to my destination. The guys were rude. The car (when it finally became available) was smoky.

Almost a complete disaster

Pros: The man working at the Framingham location was very nice and was put in a tough spot. This review is not a reflection on him— he was great and for having to put up w a shitty company like Hertz he deserves a raise.

Cons: We arrived on a sunday morning to pick up a car i had reserved to drive up to vermont where i had planned to propose to my girlfriend. When we got to the rental car location there were 4-5 people waiting and nobody at the counter. About 10 mins later we saw a man frantically scattering around, telling us he would be with us soon. He came back in a few mins to tell us that he was sorry but they were out of cars. Already nervous about the day, i began to get really anxious. How can you not hold a reservation or notify us beforehand if you are out of cars?!?!? I had several things aligned that day that were costly and already paid for, on a set timeline, etc... all to be ruined by Hertz. We started calling other rental car places in the area. Many of them were closed on a sunday, every one that was open didnt have any cars available. Even the airport! Suddenly, the man returned from around the corner saying that he had something for us... a Toyota Yaris. Fine- we’d take anything. The car hadnt been cleaned, was a downsize of what we reserved and paid for, and smelled the entire trip like something was burning, but that Yaris made it. No apology from the company, no discount or complimentary whatnot for our troubles... just a yaris and a minor heart attack. Some of the other people who were waiting werent even lucky enough for the Yaris—- i felt terrible for them. Needless to say, I will never use Hertz again. I want to make it clear that this is not a reflection on the man running the location— he was kind and you could tell hated the situation he was put in by the lack of cars.

Car was dangerous with steering problem

Pros: They were nice people.

Cons: The car had a dangerous steering issue where it would jerk to the left or right and it felt like I did not have control of the car. It was very scary and there were a couple of times I thought I was going to crash. The brakes were so sensitive I almost got whiplash the first time I touched the breaks to stop when leaving the dealer. The car was pristine clean and only had 5700 miles on it, but there was definitely something wrong with it. When I told the agent, who also runs the car wash that the rental office is in, he just said he drove the car the other day and it was fine. He was more concerned about closing up for the day, than helping me and was not even apologetic that I had such a stressful time with the car. I don't trust this location and probably wold not rent here again.

Pros: The car had good gas mileage and the pickup location was relatively close to home.

Cons: The agent at Hertz provided absolutely NO customer service. I arrived at 8:55, before the location opened, with a reservation. The first person in line. Still, he decided to process a group without a reservation before me. It took him 30 minutes to process that reservation since the car they had available wasn't clean. When he finally processed my car, they brought a dirty car. Later, when I was driving, I discovered the previous driver had spilled coffee all over the steering wheel which made it sticky and disgusting. Awful.
