It was a terrible experience. They didn't have the car I had reserved ready and were unable to resolve the problem they themselves had created. The staff who attended to me were indifferent to the situation and, to a certain extent, rude, saying that the reservation could not be fulfilled and that I should not complain since they had not charged me anything. After the situation, they did not contact me at any time. I would not use Hertz again or recommend them in the future.Reviewed Mar 2 2026

The car was not ready, and we were not offered a reqsonable alternative. They did offer another car, but it costed four times the one we had booked. They provided a car at night, 14 hours later, not the yaris we had booked, but a corrolla. We had to pay for the upgrade, even if it was not our fault. Moreover, we booked the car for ten days, and since the vehicle was late, we tried to reduce it to a 9 day rental. Thye told us they could not change our original reservation. Brief, they can do what they need at your expense, but you have no flexibility at all. They do not honor reservations. If you want to rent a car at this place, make sure they do have the car (call in advace) . Even when they did not have cars available, their webpage allowed us to make new bookings for the same day...Reviewed Jan 8 2022

I rented a car at least a week before getting there. My original rental was for 11:00pm. Because of a flight delay, I didn't get to the airport until 2:00am. At that point, I went to the counter. He saw my name, but said no cars were available. I explained that it wasn't my fault that the plane was late. He said he didn't know what to say. He got in at midnight and no cars were available. this was the worst experience renting a car ever. They closed the office before pickup- the next day I spoke to several representatives for another pickup- they TRIPLED the price of the rental- never again- not with Hertz, nor with Kayak...you guys suck.Reviewed Dec 17 2021

When I arrived to Lima, they did not have the vehicle I reserved. This made the rest of our planned out trip very stressful as I had to wait a day for them to have the vehicle available and this set us behind by 2 days. We missed a lot of things in our vacation and we had to rush everything during our trip in order to meet the return deadline. This almost ruins our vacation. It didn't feel right when they added on the extra charge from going over the km count. Costed an arm and a leg.
