It was terrible! I rented a car and they gave me a Tesla with terrible autonomy to drive through the country. I spent 3 hours per day in chargers to get the battery charged in order to proceed with the trip. Besides that I received the car dirt, with no windshield washer in the tank and only 68% of the battery charged.Reviewed Jun 8 2023

Reserved my rental car early in the morning and drove 45 miles to the airport to pick up and they told me I couldn’t pick up same day and that I could come back tomorrow. If I couldn’t pick up the same day then they should not have allowed me to reserve the car.Reviewed Jun 8 2023

Unfortunately I did not see a scratch on the rim of one of the wheels when I rented the car. This damage was attributed to me and I was charged a $50 damage fee. Fortunately I had the insurance or it would have been worse. If you rent from this location, make sure you thoroughly inspect the car and report ANYTHING that is not perfect before you drive away from the location.Reviewed Jun 8 2023

The car was 4,000 miles over due on an oil change. All tire pressure was low. The keys were underneath the seat at pick up as if someone just threw them in there. There was trash in the glove compartment leftover from the previous driver.Reviewed Jun 7 2023

They did not hold my reservation. I needed an automatic; my entire vacation depended upon getting this car (I cannot drive a manual). Showed up to get the car at 9am that morning -- NO CAR. No automatic. Then, the man behind the counter yelled at me when I told him how frustrated I was. He said he would never rent a car to me. I said, "What an empty threat--you don't have a car to rent to me." I will NEVER rent from any Hertz location ever again. Their company has lost me COMPLETELY, and I plan on telling everyone how awful they were.Reviewed Jun 7 2023

The car started making a noise in the engine on the next to the last day of the rental. We called roadside assistance and they sent a mechanic to look at the car and possibly tow it. They arrived within two hours - and took the auto. When we had our concierge at our hotel call Hertz at the Dunkirk office to let them know what was going on - the informed her that if the mechanic determined that the noise was "our fault they would be charging us the $750 deposit that they demanded at rental". They also demanded $181 for fuel (in case we did not fill it up) We had filled up the car just before the noise started. We have not heard from Hertz about their final decision - but we fear that it will cost us close to $1000 to do this rental (on top of the rental cost) We need this resolved ASAP to insure that our funds are returned to us. The car had 6000 km on it when we rented it and we used it for about 500 km We did not abuse the car in any way and did not even go up steep hills or have any rain. The comments from the Dunkirk office were uncalled for and left us very worried that they would blame us for the mechanical problem. Please find out what is going on and handle the deposits that we left with them at the time of rental. Thank you.
