Book Hertz car rentals in Venice

Cons: The car was filthy - seats stained, had half eaten food between seats, dirty plastic cups and used tissues int the car. It is clear the van had been used for commercial purposes, it was not fit to be used for a family vacation trip. I had to wait an hour for the car from when I arrived which made it clear it wasn’t ready and they tried to clean it a last minute, maybe even put the back chairs back in as the middle row wasn’t fitted well and the seats rocked a bit. Also the power outlet didn’t work so I couldn’t charge my phone for using as a GPS. It was very disappointing.

Pros: We had a brand new car; obviously it was in good condition so that was nice.

Cons: We waited over an hour after our scheduled reservation time to get the car. We had carefully planned our itinerary and the late departure (waiting for the vehicle to be taken for fuel) messed things up badly. We ended up in rush hour traffic, which delayed our arrival in Tuscany and cost us extra $$

Pros: Car was spacious as needed

Cons: Car was dirty at pick up Drop off was not assisted by anybody since they open at 8:00am and I had to check in before then: there were Hertz people at the booth, they did not take care of drop off. Insurance was super pricy: almost 400 euros full coverage. They did not recommend Allianz one I did

Pros: DRop off was unstaffes, nothing but a handwritten signon the door. had to call a number to get instructions on how to drop off. no dropoff lot or key drop off. was instructed to leave the keyys inside a mailbox between two buildings. Now iwas shcardefr $1556 extra ona pre paid rental that cost $200

Cons: Dont rip people off

Pros: Car was ok. Drop off was quick.

Cons: Pickup took 3hrs in the fuckin airport because there werent enough people working on the desks. Just a nonsense wait in a hot area of the airport with nothing to eat or do.

Cons: Had to wait over an hour in a small hot area to get the car. The car was old and beat up. Dents and scratches everywhere and 85,000 km on the odometer

Pros: Hassle with no one there

Drop off

Cons: When we got to our destination in Venice Mestre, the office was closed in the middle of the day from 12:30-2:30. The agent there told us we could drop the car off and leave the keys in a mailbox but we would be charged an extra 15 euros! For what? First of all a location so close to the train station should be open all day, and the extra charge is absurd, they are not doing anything extra. So we had to drive around for 1 and a half hours, spend more money to make sure the gas was full again and then return the car at 2:30.
