Cons:My flight landed at 5:30 and the rental car place was NOT at the airport so I was too late as it closed at 6pm. I called and planned to pick the car up the next day but they were so far that I would have had to pay more to get there to pick the car up and return it and then pay for a cab to the airport that it would not be worth it. Hertz is normally excellent but because I booked it through Kayak they could not help me. I want a refund. This is why I normally do NOT use these sites as it is impossible to get a refund or change your reservation. I travel every week for work so it is extremely difficult when customer service is not helpful.

Pros:I moved my reservation from fox to hertz to ensure a reliable car in snowy conidtions. The radio on the mid-sized SUV was fine but the speakers were tinny and weak. When we switched the car into AWS it would not stay in that mode. The windshield fluid was a bubble and would not cleanse the snow and dirt from the front window. Finally, the passenger seatbelt stuck and my friend has to ride in the back of the car the whole drive back. When I shared these experiences with the attendant she offered a $25 discount. Do not rent from Hertz. Terrible experience

Cons:Inadvertently (my fault) reserved a car at a remote location in Las Vegas when I intended to pick up at airport. Airport location would not honor reservation, except at 3X rate. Required to take a cab to remote location. Remote location was a zoo, with only one employee, a throng of unhappy customers, and a closing time of noon. Provided with a Hyundai Santa Fe instead of a Toyota 4Runner (not equivalent in my opinion). Upon return, was charged over $150 for a windshield replacement as a result of a TINY rock crack. Don't typically use Hertz and will hereafter avoid.

Cons:The employees at the pickup location worked very slow, once i was told i was all set and given my paperwork they asked me to wait outside for the car to be brought around to me. I waited 40 minutes for the car to be brought out front to me while they employees were closing the store. The rear bumper was held on with a sheetmetal screw, and after a couple of days of driving around I noticed that one brakelight was out.

Hertz cancelled my car and left me with no alternatives. They said they have no cars which meant that there is a communication problem between Kayak and Hertz. The only good thing I can say is that they at least called to tell me.

Pros:Staff was friendly but did not accommodate the legitimate request for an upgrade to a larger vehicle.
Cons:The photo of the vehicle on the website was not even close to the same size of the vehicle which was provided. The website indicated I would be renting a full size SUV with a photo of a Chevy Tahoe. The small print indicated the vehicle was going to be a Nissan Pathfinder or similar vehicle. It was a cheap attempt by the company to entice you with a larger vehicle and then provide you with a smaller vehicle which is described in the fine print.
