3.1 Mediocre
Pros: Fire place at the entrance.
Cons: Although we paid for a King bed, the bed in the room was a queen. Upon speaking with the front desk, they insisted that there were no queen beds on property. We have a king at home and I can guarantee that that bed was a queen. The room didn’t come with a fridge, we had to ask for one thing be put in. The bathroom was so so, it was clean but very outdated, there was no full size mirror in the room either.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Contemporary and well decorated. Manicured grounds. Rooms very comfortable with modern conveniences.
Cons: Bistro in the lobby had skeleton staff on a Saturday night. Must order food at the bar. Food is essentially snacks or heated sandwiches. The breakfast hours ended at 10 a.m. Sunday which was not made clear to me when checking in.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely clean!
Cons: The room had a very strong perfume smell. We were charged $3.00 for a drink "on the rocks."...Until we complained!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Love the rooms very nice and. Comfortable
Cons: Wish the breakfast was until 11 instead of 10.
2.2 Mediocre
Pros: The size of our room was comfortable
Cons: You could hear people above you and next to you, which made it uncomfortable to enjoy our stay. Seemed outdated and staff was so so. When needing a cab, they gave me the number instead of calling one for me as their guest. Shuttle service was misleading on website. Not available for needed hours. One of the reasons I went for this hotel was because of the shuttle. It was a waste. Will look elsewhere next time heading up to the Culinary Institute of America.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here a few years ago, and they've definitely been upgrading. The rooms and the hotel are much nicer than I remember. The front desk staff was really welcoming and helpful. The rooms themselves were clean and comfortable. The location is really convenient.
Cons: The complimentary breakfast is really bad. Wedged in a back ballroom, everything was cold and half-hearted. It took forever to have basics like cream and water pitchers refilled. There are tons of great diners in the area. It's definitely worth venturing out and paying elsewhere.
6.0 Good
Pros: Heating system out dated
Cons: I couldn't. Get a double bed room
7.7 Good
Pros: The bar was great... Front desk, great...rooms, nice...overall, nice... Could be better
Cons: The attention to detail seemed lost... Dings, dents, bad painting..... Basic hotel upkeep seemed lacking...

4.0 Okay
Pros: Reception was very friendly, gave us a credit, and did pretend to try to move us.
Cons: Didn't hold reservation and gave us downgraded room. TV reception terrible "because of the rain". TV remote did not work. AC barely worked. Tub drain broken. Breakfast was minimal and low quality. Shabby, old interiors.
7.4 Good
Pros: The staff member working in the morning was great. She was personable, helpful, checked on specifics of our stay, and apologized for the mistakes that were made. Also, the breakfast was great-lots of choices.
Cons: The person on staff when we checked in was NOT very friendly, and did not offer information. I had to ask about the evening reception, which I found out about when my confirmation email was sent to me. I had requested extra towels, which we did not receive. Also, my bill did not reflect my kayak rate. I was charged the regular Best Western rate. When I pointed it out, the morning staff person did get it corrected.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: we stayed at the best western for vassar college parent's weekend. it was the perfect location to go back and forth to campus. the room was big and comfortable and staff incredibly friendly and helpful. i would stay there again!
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful; staff, clean room
7.1 Good
Pros: The facilittle was clean. The breakfast was good but more seating on outside patio would have been a nicer touch.
Cons: Our bathroom door would not shut. The bathroom looked like shoddy work was done to try to fix door and something else but not done well.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were in the area visiting the Culinary Institute of America and the hotel was very convenient located. The hotel is very cozy. Nothing fancy, but very clean and the staff was helpful.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: I was skeptical but it was clean and did the trick for a night passing through. Staff was friendly. Sheets and pillow cases smelled fresh. I work in hotels so I'm picky and know what do look for. But the room I stayed in was clean. Can't speak for the rest.
Cons: The bed was firm but some people like it. The walls are thin. I could hear others accessing their room and it almost sounded like they were coming in my room. But none of this is the hotels fault. They are doing a good job with what they have.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel was a good value. The rooms were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the property was clean. Additionally, the hotel was only a short drive from the CIA.
Cons: The property has seen better days. The bathroom door in our room didn't latch. The exterior security door near our room opened without scanning a room key. While the hotel is a smoke-free facility, smoke was always present in stairways and hallways. Additionally, the property does not have an elevator. Travelers should request a room on the first floor, otherwise you'll be carrying your luggage up and down stairs.

4.5 Okay
Pros: No one bothered us
Cons: Cigarette burn on the blankets. Cost more than what kayak.com told me. Even though I ordered one king bed they told me that's what happens when you order online and stuck me with 2 queen beds. Basically it cost more than what it was supposed to and I didn't even get what I ordered.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to Vassar and restaurants and bars.
Cons: Housekeeper was playing music through her phone while cleaning. It was very loud and easily heard through the door in my room.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very clean for being such an old hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The beds are very small and not very comfortable. No breakfast choices for gluten free diet.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I found that hotel to be clean with a friendly staff. There are so many things to do and see in the area that we did not have time for the pool and exercise room. I would recommend this hotel to others and use it again if I return for a second visit.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Poughkeepsie isn't to blame for this ramshackle of a hotel.
Cons: The en masse loiterers, smoking rooms, damaged furniture and flailing plumbing. People don't take pride in their property. Horrible.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room has been recently renovated and everything was very clean. Having a refrigerator in the room is very appreciated. The size of the room is very generous, giving us plenty of room to spread out during a five day stay.
Cons: We had a room on the first floor. During one night of our stay, there was another guest in the room above us. The sound proofing between floors is non-existent and you could hear every single footstep of our upstairs neighbor, loudly. Also, we were happy to see that the windows could be opened for some fresh air but, any time we tried to open them, someone would start smoking outside the front entrance and the smoke smell would waft into our room. Disgusting.

Pros: The room was clean & spacious. There was a nice view from the window. I didn't like the shower area. I prefer a standard bath or shower, rather than an open space with just a curtain and a bath bench. The staff was also great. Will definitely visit again.
Cons: The shower

Cons: The place seem old. Stayed with my 11year old son and he was not happy with room. I guess tou get what you paid for.
6.5 Good
Pros: Very convenient location to Poughkeepsie and the Walkway over the Hudson bridge. Despite being on Rt 9 the rooms were quiet. Continental breakfast was bagels/cream cheese, donuts, coffee.
Cons: Only one window in rooms, got a bit stuffy overnight. Across the street and in the mall next door are reasonably priced eateries. And the CIA restaurants are less that 1/2 hour up Rt 9.
5.1 Okay
Pros: The price.
Cons: Everything else.
6.0 Good
Pros: I liked how close it was to a gas station, since I had to buy beer a few times in the middle of the night. The breakfast was minimal but suitable. The mattresses were stained but the sheets were clean! Plenty of parking, lots of rooms available.
Cons: Everything in the rooms was long overdue for an upgrade and our room didn't have an iron. It was clean but smelled dusty.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The front desk guy was friendly
Cons: The place was filthy. I refused to stay. It was so bad I didn't care about my loss of money. I couldn't get out there quick enough.

Cons: Very old and worn - needs improvement. Noisy neighbors. Breakfast is coffee, tea, bagels or white powdered donuts.
