Good hospitality It was a little difficult to catch a taxi.
Fairly quick check in process (which was also improved since the room was prepaid by booking through Kayak) Easy access via taxi, with a covered drop off/pick up area (great since it rains so much in Hong Kong) 2 complimentary bottles of filtered water Safe in the room didn't work at all, and looked like it had been tampered with Small lobby with a ton of bags left by other guests, with minimal security and the bags out in the open Toilet was chipped and cracked Shower door didn't close fully, and the hot water took forever to come out Overall, pretty shabby decor and facilities for the price paid. I'd recommend Lanson Place Hotel over the Regal for any business travellers.
Nothing First off we booked for 10/21-23 and my email confirmarion and screen shot of booking all confirmed this. When we went to check in , they told us that booking was for 11/4-6. I showed them the confirmation then they told us we needed to take the issue up with kayak. After arguing for 3 hours(i dont give up) they finally gave us the room. The hotel is NOT a 5 star (1star) and the pictures are MISLEADING. Theoughout the stay the staff was awful. The hotel is also filled with mainlanders which makes it extremely noisy and crowded. Avoid avoid avoid. I couldnt take another day so in the end I booked the shangri-la.
Location of hotel Quality of service. Even the staff serving the executive club floor were not friendly and helpful. Especially the female staff.
Reception and check in not very friendly.
ask the staff to fix the bath room , but they never sent staff to fix it . very disppointed.
Hotel a little over-rated and riding a bit off the back of having two of Hong Kongs best restaurants in the same building. Locaion a bit out of the way for most things you might want to see / do. Staff did their best to get me an early check-in as I arrived at 8am. Others arriving just after we less lucky. Location not great but right on the tramline.
My room was very spacious. I did get upgraded but this was much cheaper and just as luxurious as the the grand Hyatt in wan chai. Great location very near the metro and next toVictoria park. Also next to Ding Tai Fung.
Good value for a good location. Great staff and lovely appearance. Kayak's booking didn't go through and caused a delayed check-in.
The location is a stone throw away from major shopping malls at Causeway Bay Hong Kong. It has complimentary bus service by Airport Shuttle H2 from Hong Kong station. Room size is good for Hong Kong standard. Gym is in basement 3, not big, but no views, no service staff, but open 24 hrs enter by hotel room key. There is a small pool on 32nd floor roof top with sweeping views. Good thing is via booking.com, you can cancel the booking up to 2 days before the travelling date. You do not pay online and settle the bill directly with the hotel only when you check out of the hotel. The toiletries provided is insufficient and a little stingy. For instance, if previous days toiletries are used partially, chamber maid may not replenish the next day even though you pay for the another day's room night. Quality of shampoo and bath gel is economical and not befitting a 5 star hotel. There is no comb, cotton wool for ladies facial, or cottton buds provided. If you pay for an extra bed, sometimes they forgot to provide 3rd set of towels or complimentary towel. Booking.com does not show the service charge to be imposed which may amount to 10% of room rates quoted. Please budget for that when you settle your bill. It should quote the all in costs to be transparent for travellers.
Huge room for hong kong standards. Real (and huge) paintings in the room and corridors. Good location and excellent price. If you have a lot of baggage, the free shuttle to the airport express line ( hong kong station ) can be very convenient (otherwise subway can be faster) Overpriced dinner buffet....but who care about that in hong kong? a city with so many culinary options
The location is the best for shopping and eating The amenities in the bathroom didn't change or add such as bar soap.
Central locality, near Times Square and all business centres. Honesty of housekeeping staff, they returned me some monies left behind. Front Office is too jammed and efficiency doubtful.
services & facilities not as good as previous years. hotel run down.
The additional charge for internet use in your room is disappointing, particularly with the high cost of accommodation in the hotel.
The CD player in the room is very nice, I happened to buy a disk before I got there, I loved the music and the night view outside the window is goreiouse! Brekafast is not quite good and it is not worth the price they charge!
Staff were helpful and room was always made up whenever requested.
close to shopping area hotel too old
very close to the downtown center shopping mall no swimming pools
We loved our room with the view of the park and harbour. It was also close to good shopping and the railway station. The bed and bathroom were very clean and modern. We did not realize it did not have a pool but this didn't matter as the weather was cool.
A lot of lifts available for guests so practically didnt have to wait long for a ride. It has been remodeled & the rooms are the same size but newer carpet, bathroom. Very conveniently located
How advance is the technological facilities in the hotel. Very long process in checking in. they didnt want to give us room right away (though we reached there by 4PM), but after insisting for a long while they finally gave us our room.
convenient location to shopping area, walking distance to wan chai area with lots of bars. no free wi fi.
Beautiful view of Victoria Harbour, location close to shopping Nothing wrong
Very attractive, comfortable room. Restaurant closes at 12, upper level bar was reserved for a private function. It was impossible for me to have a drink or eat after work.
very new hotel convenietnly located near shopping area. the design of the hotel is very decent. no free wi fi
brandnew hotel with good location and view into the "Happy Valley". Great outside pool on the roof. breakfast room too crowded and noisy. Breakfast extremely expensive.
Location is great, room is quite spacious and bathroom is roomy. Overall I'm very satisfied with the hotel. My booking.com indicated breakfast was included, but it was denied during check in. I had to send e-mail and call manager to clarify this. Btw, coffee at breakfast buffet was sour and tasted like yesterday's coffee.
This is a great hotel in HongKong which is rare Getting a taxi is difficult !
Cost Room size, age of furniture
The service was excellent and the rooms were very very comfortble and clean.
it is good because near from all transport and shopping and time square . also, WiFi is Free. in that period, there was maintenance beside this hotel.
Close to MTR station and also nearby shopping areas like Sogo and Time Square Room is rather small and leaves very little space for moving about. Does not top up complimentary bottled water unless called up room service. The nearby overhead pedestrian bridge is under construction making it difficult to cross to the other side of the road.
Friendly staff, good location
Good service at counter, room cleaning satisfactory, good internet wi-fi coverage, good quiet location. No complaint.
Convenience to public transportation and spacious room.
excellent service, room is clean and comfort. however, hotel locates between 2 MTR stations, it takes time to walk to MTR station
The front office staff are friendly and understanding. We do have a chance to thank the Front Office Manager on duty on the 17th Nov 2010 night due to busy schedule. We really want to thank her for offering to check in first before we resolve our booking problem with the bank.
good location well for one.. my bed i slept on makes me itch thru the 2 nights.. not sure if its due to the sheets or the cover..
The mattress was hard and it aggravated the backache I had
The Chateau Montfort is a charming, warm boutique hotel in a great location in Milan. The design is whimsical, romantic, and elegant. The lobby area is good for tea, a cocktail, or a small business meeting. The restaurant breakfast buffet consists of quality ingredients, albeit at a price to match. The rooms are a good size, the bed extremely comfortable, and the wardrobe large enough to fit a weeks worth of clothes. The TV had the most of channels of any hotel TV anywhere. There were a variety of languages in the 150 channels so you can keep up with the news at home regardless of where home is. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke very good English. The bathroom is beautiful, but I had a combo tub/shower with a curtain. I hoped for something better since everything else in the hotel exceeded my expectations. Again, this is nitpicking because the bathroom is otherwise very nice.
The Metropark is a good hotel for the budget traveller. Close to most things including public transport (The Tin Hau MRT station just across the road). The highlights of the hotel include warm friendly staff, clean adequate rooms and the rooftop pool.
View and location Breakfast!
Central location without being too central (i.e. noisy). Clean, modern. Reserved double or queen bed, was given twin. Contacted reception on arrival in room about changing room, told to wait 10 min. 1/2 hour later rang again, told nothing available & wouldn't be able to help for the following night either.
The girl at breakfast restaurant can relate guest and room which seemed professional and surprising Door man not always present at ground floor
to attend a conference , i need to book a hotel, the hotel itself is good and in a good location. but the price is too high maybe for the conference
Awesome customer service Great view Excellent location Nice hotel
I got an upgrade to a larger room as a frequent visitor, much appreciated for the space and exceptionally wide harbour views. The hotel is probably best suited for tourists on short stays.
Staff superb - rooms with great views of harbour. Good breakfasts and OK gym. Walking distance to shops and restaurants, trams and much more. Beds hard.
We upgraded to a suite...the best value for money in Hong Kong with amazing views over the harbour.
Very good location - close to MTR so easy to reach all main sites, nice big rooms Reception staff not very informative, though very friendly
We stayed here last November. In our review of the hotel, we indicated that we were happy with all aspects of the hotel except the annoying CRT TV and the irritating smoke getting into our non-smoking room through the ventilation system. Well, the management listened. We stayed here again this November. There was a new LCD TV and no smoke in the room. We highly recommend this hotel. None.
Nice room excelent service
Have stayed at the Excelsior years agoa and chose due to location. Its still as good, Bar on 34th superb and staff are excellent at looking after you, especially concierge... Rooms a little on the small side...
The hotel location and the staff was very helpful, great hotel to stay with family too. None
The Excelsior is a HK landmark. The view is outstanding. The location is unbeatable. Staff always ready to help. I liked locaton and view best. Great! No free internet use in rooms nor anywhere at the hotel. Made it fall behind new design business hotels in Asia.
Harbour view room and great location bathroom l
Excellent location. The Concierge is very helpful and efficient in advising guests where to dine and how to reach a location. None.
I like very much the fashion style of the room.
The cleanliness of the room & the strategic location
Though the location was reletively good, taxis are not allowed to drop off passengers at the front of the hotel! Our driver had to drop us off at the back alley. We literary lugged our luggages to the front door! I want to thank Micheal and especially Joyce for helping me to lug my luggage. Thank you Jason for explaining to me the place I had to wait for /hail a taxi. 1.Unlike other hotels, this hotel requires you to cancel 7 days beforehand. If not, you will be charged the first night. 2. They will charge the first night’s rate when you book the hotel and additional 2000HKD as a deposit when you check in. With such stringent rule, one might expect the hotel to assign good rooms for customers who booked months in advance. Sadly, it wasn't so. I was assigned a room reeked of cigarette smell by Natalie. The toilet cum bathroom is transparent and visible from the other flats/apartments that are built within arm’s length! So, the curtain has to shut permanently! When I approached Tiffany, I was told that there wasn't any room left. I was told that I could pay additional 220HKD to upgrade. The manager’s attitude was “take it or leave it!” After I commented that “You have the prerogative of treating me however you like, but I have the right to write about how I was treated here,” that they suddenly remembered that they had vacant rooms! Though my situation was rectified, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I had to stoop so low in using my occupation and the internet to threaten the staff to get basic decent customer service! It literary marred my first day there! 3. They like to use the excuse of “it’s a bigger and more spacious room” to trick you into accepting a more “inferior” room. When they show me their “smaller” room, it was a better room, where the bathroom was not visible from other buildings! 4. Though it's near Times Square, you can forget about saving money as you will definitely pay extra to get a cab to the nearest MTR to head to the airport with your heavy luggage. This is because the Wan Chai MTR station is too far away for you to lug your luggage to while the Causeway Bay MTR station is too congested with traffic and dangerous for you to head to with your luggage. 5.
It's new, so everything's clean. The beds are large and comfortable and there's free Internet access in the rooms. It's not a complaint, but the service is limited to check-in, check-out and baggage storage. There's no restaurant nor room service. However you're in a great location, so who wants to eat in the hotel?!
The staff at the ground floor lobby is friendly and he will recommend place to shop and eat.
The room is really great... clean, cozy and also it has a great view of Central there! The service is nice too.
Very New, Very Clean A little noise from the road at night.
The hotel is very convenience, it is not far from shopping area and plenty of food shop around the hotel including fresh market where you can find fresh fruits. The noise from the street and outside the room.
It was excellent they didn't exactly clean the room well
Easy, efficient N/A
Freliendly staff Room smelled very very bad. Moldy damp
The location is excellent, it is between two MTR stations and in a quiet location. It was quite comfortable for what it is. Needs a refurbishment and bed linen is a bit grey, old and stained.
Staff friendly, good service, concierge knowledgeable and helpful - Champs Bar good. Walking distance of MTR, ferries and Shopping Malland loacl food markets. Rooms adequate but a bit small, likewise corridors narrow
I was coming out of a month of kung fu training in the Yunnan province and wanted to stay somewhere comfortable, in a good location, with a better price. Charterhouse greatly exceeded my expectations!! They were very accommodating in all categories and had by far the best hotel gym I've ever been to. I would definitely stay here for your first night getting your bearings in Hong Kong in comfort and ease. Literally nothing. For the price, there was absolutely nothing to complain about.
Very easy to catch a night bus to the airport. Small
I stayed there on 2 occasions a few days apart first time I liked my room on the 20th floor 2nd time I stayed there I was on the 16th floor and found the room dissappointing small and the decor very tired
Hotel staff was polite, service minded and capable. Breakfast was excellent. Given the age of the hotel, the old decoration and compared to othet Hong Kong Island Hotels, the price/quality ratio is too rosy! However, the hotel was under decoration and they did it without noise! That is something!
relatively good hotel considering it is in wanchai far from MTR.
The rain shower in the signsture room was heavenly. Location was great and handy to services. Hotel Shuttle services were prompt and luxurious. There was a late check-out offered as part of package but we weren't allowed it, also offered selection of pillows was unavailable. Room Service and Operator services were rude. Also the signature rooms, the aparent highest quaility suites, had no windows and felt like being in basement instead of 2nd floor.
Beds are comfy.... Had to leave because the bookings in the area and too expensive.
Good value, friendly staff, nice location. Our room was right next to a room being renovated and it was VERY NOISY. Room should NOT have been sold - should have been left vacant during renovation
Convenient, no fuss
I stayed 4 nights in total in two separate weeks. The beds were bad and so smaller than usual. I was promised a queen bed and got tiny twin beds (I am 6.5ft). The room was only ready at 2pm both stays. But the worst was the breakfast experience. I have never seen such a bad offer. This should not be called a Best Western and certainly not a 3 stars.
Location was pretty decent. A bit dirty in some areas. Must take two elevators to get to your room.
Building is too old. Room is way too small. Don't provide enough towels and restroom supplies need. Room don't clean daily.
Reasonably priced, close to most shops and transportation. Quarters are pretty tight... rooms are pretty old. TV is barely usable, but we don't use it that much anyway
Staffs are not familiar in this hotel including service manager and the room condition is not the same with the information on the website.
in the heart of Causeway bay. Very convenient for food and shopping
The staff was very friendly and courteous.
The staff were excellent I thought. Helpful, courteous whatever the time of day/night, and very professional. It's a good hotel if you're travelling for business or as a couple. Not a place I would recommend if you are travelling with young children. The rooms are very small compared to the more established hotels so whilst the decor and amenities provided are good, some travellers may prefer a room with a little more leg room.
it was really central and rather quiet, ideal to rest after a busy day in the city
lounge, rooms Make sure the concierge guys really understand the our request when ordering a taxi. They don't really listen or confirm properly our request. We were dropped off a 5 minute walk away from an important meeting and were late and upset when we arrived
The Staff is really friendly, the location is very good, and the tea kitchen. The price is little too expensive
Great hotel, goof buy in HKG, especially with three kid in tow, spacious and clean rooms, good beds, good babybed, babysitter trustworthy, loved thje kids, good breakfast, though place not suitable for family with small kids as you have to eat it on couches around a low table. Lots of places close to hotel.
location and comfort unexciting lobby!
Friendly staff, very clean, excellent facilities Not a place for toddlers
relatively quiet vs other hotels
Great location - so very convenient. Low cost - good value for money.
Central and functional for my one day visit and meetings Could upgrade broadband to wireless
Good location. Would be nice if there is a bathtub.
the location, and the service was great... Room was clean and mordern..
The location is very strategic and convenient. Maybe the lobby can be upgraded with live music stage.
The included breakfast was below expectations and we ended up eating breakfast at Starbucks!
Good value for money. The staff was not well-trained. The concierge did not provide good avdvice. Breakfast staff spoke little English.
The location was excellent. The room provisions was up to my expectations despite my usual business hotel stays. 1. there was a fair amount of hair stuck under my room slippers, perhaps the removal from the carpet was not ideal. 2. I expected better toiletry provisions like soap and shampoo packaged instead of a dispenser 2 in 1.
The size of the room was plesently surprising for a Hong Kong hotel. The included breakfast was unexpected and offered a good choice. The lack of bar soap in favor of liquid pump soap, particularly in the shower, was not appreciated.
